Spanish league was solid as always and Italian league was the ultimate until early 2000s, France hit their stride late 90s with zidane and Henry etc⊠its been soo poor recently, especially over the last 10 years , the poor teams have improved because the top teams have declined

Why does n't anybody see that Southgate brought on Ollie Watkins instead of Toney because it was his turn. He likes to be fair to his squad. It was nothing to do with choosing Watkins to win the game. It worked out fine for him as it happened. It might have worked just as well if he had brought on Toney. We will never know but my point is his selection of subs was nothing to do with tactics. He was bing fair to his boys who had been sitting on the bench and it was definitely Watkins turn.

Bobby Robson, lovely guy, but makes me laugh. In 86 England were terrible. Only reason we improved was because Brian Robson and another player got injured. He was forced to make a change.
Any manager who states we have no replacement for Kalvin Phillps and has had no midfield solutions for 7-8 years should be sacked.
The getting to semi finals and finals has massively papered over his very poor coaching & management.

Yes but we lost to Prime Iceland in 2016 before Southgate, and went out in the group the WC before. Also we've never played prime Spain in any tournament since 1996 it was bang average Portugal we were losing to.
I think he's right. If we lose on Sunday the man should leave. What most people don't seem to understand is that as fans we have become complacent with bad performances, so getting to the finals seems like a big deal, but it doesn't mean too much if we always end up losing over stupid stuff. We have high level players and that should be matched with a high level strategist. I have been so mad watching England matches because we have been playing it safe, and when we risk more, that's usually when we start scoring. We need a mindset shift and start demanding for more.

England have had three easy draws which means we should be going far into the tournament. If you think heâs great then wonderful. Iâm very happy for you. To me heâs been very lucky. But if we beat Spain no matter how we play everyone will think heâs a genius.
Although southgates set up , tactics and so on , has been like watching paint dry most of the time, with England dropping deep , he has got england to the final so credit where its due he has done very well even if it is boring football most of the time. He rode his luck alot of the time, but think it runs out v spain.
It's not based on 90 minutes is it? It's based on his entire tenure and this tournament. If he wins it then this tournament has been great. If we get absolutely battered then it proves the draw has masked ovet how poor we've been. If it's another loss on pens you still probably look at the tournament and say I think the draw was quite favourable and we should try something new. It's not like he has only played one game it's just that this game contextualises everything before.
Hopefully he does win it and walks away I think that's the best for everyone. I hope he does win something.

I'll be honest with you even if we win the tournament I want him out. We've scraped through every tournament he's been in. Easy games and this is a chance to dominate international football. Our squad and the players coming up have never been so strong. Yes our golden generation players (1st 11) were better but in terms of squad it's never been stronger. We have players coming up that can easy slot in and replace any of those players we have. Give potter a chance I'd say Eddie but I'm a Newcastle fan and I want him to stay.

Potter plays good football, attacking and smooth but Eddie Howe is the best English manager imo by style of play. He plays an aggressive Liverpool style 433 with fast wingers, high pressing, solid midfield with Joellinton and Bruno. Gary OâNeil is also good but needs time to develop.
