Out of his depth Southgate will play exactly the same way / same team as he did against Holland. The difference being is that when Spain take the lead it might be difficult to come back this time.
Southgate will lose the game with his idiotic tactics and in-game management like he did against Croatia, Italy, France.
Harry has been poor and plays more like a cdm that a 9 which is not what this team needs. Watkins is far better suited to play the sole striker role as he actually makes runs in behind forcing defenders to drop and opening up space for the foden, bellingham and saka to operate. Clear as day to anyone with an eye. Having said all that, Kane is the team captain so no chance Southgate drops him.

I wouldn't say tired. The opponents were either not capable of doing more or they resorted to defend the lead and therefore inviting England to do something. Even Spain did it against Germany and it almost backfired.

To be fair to Safegate , Holland changed their tactics in the 2nd half to push and press up towards our goal, meaning space was created behind their defenders. It was screaming for a Watkins and a Palmer to create that chance.

Iv'e said Watkins should be in since the start. Kane isn't fit. He hasn't made a single run in behind any defence all tournament. Thats not a problem when he is playing for Spurs or Bayern with direct players constantly making runs beyond him, but thats not the case at all with this England team. Foden and Bellingham are playing as number 10's and the only player who has made any runs in behind at all is Saka.
Watkins has 40 goal involvements in 53 games for Villa last season. Playing in the most difficult league in the world he has been an absolute menace. He looks fit, he is rapid fast, and he contributed more as an out and out centre forward in 15 mins last night than Kane has all tourney.

Harry has been very very poor no running in behind loses the ball every time he receives it. He just hasn't got the legs anymore. Toney or Watkins for me up top.
I felt like was the only one who saw how much he lost the ball, almost everytime he got the ball, going down easily, calling for fouls, touch too heavy.

Why has it got to be such an issue. Spain do it every game with morata,he's there captain and striker. He accepts it as he should. Spain has always played a passing game with mobility. Plus this time they have two fast wingers. If England tried to match their midfield game, they may lose out. I think both Toney and Watkins might be crucial in these game, if England decide to by pass midfield battle and go for long and high balls into their penalty box. Their players are not physical, and generally not tall. They might struggled against games with balls in the air, or behind their defence.

Why do England managers get so fixated on one player, and so scared of hurting their feelings over the rest of the team that they play them no matter what. I could understand kane playing if we had no other goalscorers in the squad or any other strikers. But the reality is thats not the case any more. The squad and starting eleven is filled with players who are scoring on a regular basis. Watkins has just scored 19 goals and got the most assists 13, in the premier league yet apparently according to Southgate a cleary unfit, no pace, defensive midfielder kane offers more to the team then him as a striker , Its ridiculous. Watkins runs foward, so the passes go forward. Kane doesn't move so the passes go back, its like starting every game with 10 men and hoping the 11th takes off his invisibility cloak for a few minutes every game.
