Good for you! I've been misdiagnosed several times and now have little faith in doctors.
I had one doctor tell my wife to stop me from going to "doctor Google". This was after telling her about a misdiagnosed headache I had.
This other doctor gave me allergy medication for it after telling him I've never had allergies in my life. When that didn't work, he increased it to a stronger allergy medication. When that didn't work he sent me to a brain specialist for a CT scan. When that doctor didn't find anything, I went to "Dr. Google" and the closest thing I found to what I had was a cervicogenic headache. I treated it with exercise of my neck.
I was misdiagnosed as having lupis anticoagulant. I second opinion found no lupis. I was told I needed a quadruple heart bypass. I refused and signed an "Against Medical Advice" form and checked myself out of the hospital. That was 5 years ago. I can only think that the doctor was late on his Mercedes payments.
I had gotten horribly sick after eating undercooked chicken in a Korean restaurant. I was getting weaker as time went on. Dr. Google listed all the symptoms of Guillain-Barre when my wife brought me into the emergency room of Torrance Medical Center with weakened arms and legs.
When I asked the doctor if they could do a spinal tap to verify if I had Guillain-Barre, this bone-headed doctor said, "You don't have Guillain-Barre, you have blood clots". I looked into what Dr. Google had to say about Guillain-Barre and blood clots and it was confirmed by Sedars-Cinai that people with Guillain-Barre have a high risk of developing blood clots.
My blood clots quickly went away with blood thinners, but after 7 years, I still can hardly walk due to Guillain-Barre having nearly destroyed the myelin sheaths in my legs. I was never diagnosed by any doctor for Guillain-Barre and I'm still pretty pissed about that.
I have several more episodes with bone-headed doctors including an episode where one gave me medicine that nearly killed me, but I believe this is enough. I don't see doctors unless something is seriously wrong. I'm 76, still refer to Dr. Google and believe I have several years left.

I never had protruding veins until I took Amlodipine. I also became so lethargic that I did nothing but sit and I even stopped bathing and eating. I felt like a zombie. I took it 3 times a day. I slowly became a Zombie. I stopped after 2 months and not being able to walk. I had to be helped. I now have problems with my legs that hurt my feet and I was told that my veins are popping out because of my age. I literally got creepy skin on my legs, arms and hands overnight. Really. Terrible drug.

Minerals, all of them, help to make the blood flow and heart beat stronger and more regular. Just by taking high quality multi-minerals, especially magnesium, (which also optimizes muscle function which helps stop muscle cramps) we could lower/regulate our blood pressure, but insurance companies only cover the dangerous chemical compounds that harm us. People on low income can not afford the better supplements, and the cheap walmart, walgreens, target and other drug stores supplements are loaded with fillers and toxins and contain only a minute amount of what we think we are paying for, It's better to eat vegetables (especially leafy greens and beets, nature foods rich in color) to get better and make certain you eat more vegetables than anything else.

Amlodipine was the only blood pressure medication I could tolerate after they tried all the other ones on me and they all resulted in bad side effects. I have been on amlodipine now for over ten years and never had a single problem with it. It would seem we all have different results with all this medicine, different body chemistry and what works for one is a no go for others.

Throughout the years none of my Family Practitioners could get my blood pressure under control. And then I started to get swelling in my ankles too for many years. I ended up in the emergency room with dangerously high blood pressure. So I finally decided to see a cardiologist. He was great, put me on 3 different blood pressure medication. And for the first time in years I finally have normal blood pressure and no more ankle swelling.

Soon after I started on amlodipine I had several rebounds of high blood pressure after the medicine had initially lowered my blood pressure. The rebounds happened during repeated dosing with amlodipine. It also made me short of breath during physical exercise, which had never happened to me either on other BP drugs or off them. That was enough to scare me off amlodipine for good. I don’t have any of those side effects on ACE inhibitors.

I gave been having problems with Morton’s Neuroma in both of my feet. My feet began to swell. In talking to my daughter she said that is what happened to her taking it. I quit taking it swelling went down immediately. However i just went to the doctor and was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease stage 3. I have never had a doctor tell me i had any issue with my kidneys. Platelets severly off and iron deficiency anemia. I am 84 years old.
I just looked up the sise effects of amlodipine. First thing it said was if you are getting hives from it this is an emergency. Great!

My gum was swelling I had to visit the dentist. Most of my teeth were not visible,I could not eat properly, I could not brush my teeth because of excessive gum bleeding. The dentist did an exray of my mouth and could not find anything that caused the swelling. The dentist told me it could be medication I am taking. I did a research on the drug and found out it was the Amlodipine. I told my doctor and she took me off it.

I do too. Have good results. I started using pink Himalayan salt and my doctor cut my dosage in half, took me off a water pill and heart medicine. Yes my ankles swell but I am 64 and was always on my feet. So some broken vessels around my ankles is normal. I highly recommend pink Himalayan salt. Great flavor and great benefits. ❤❤

After starting Amlodipine I also began walking an hour almost everyday. That kept the swelling in my feet and lower legs to a minimum and actually went away. It came back when I stopped walking for a few months due to a different issue.
Also, I have to take a stool softener twice per day since I starter Amlodipine.
My BP went from 160/80 to 128/70 almost immediately. One day I forgot to take my pill and my BP shot back up. Whew.
