Update: another member did show me some flyers with GT 97+ using the white swoop cabinet. I’ve never seen these, but they must exist if the flyers exist. I won’t remove my original post. It’s important to recognize when we’re wrong. Original post below: Love Glen and I think Shilo does a great job, but this cabinet makes no sense (and not for the reasons you think). This particular cabinet style (the white swoop) wasn’t introduced until the Golden Tee Fore series. The cabinets for the 3D, 9x and 2k series were either standard black or green midway style cabs or box cabs. New Wave Toys has done a fantastic job of creating scale arcade realism…how did they miss this big on the cabinet style? Was this Incredible Technologies forcing the cabinet branding on them? Doesn’t make sense for NWT and their attention to detail.

This is ridiculous. Sell the controller separately and have it work via usb for emulators and this might be a good product. But over four big ones for this is honestly a joke. Especially considering the game list. The controller is so nice….if it was attached to a cabinet the same size lol.
This is exactly what I predicted... even before yesterday's cabinet silhouette. I was thinking that control deck was a precursor accessory to the next Replicade for better playability. I plan to get the Replicade, but not the control deck. Also, pretty sure this was their plan this entire time. If it weren't for a few content creators adamantly saying a 3/4 scale or full sized cabinet is coming, there's no other reason to believe there was going to be one. The "something bigger is coming" was obviously referring the control deck. This will probably be NWT answer to future Replicades with control types that don't work so well at 1:6 scale... if it sells well.
If it's not obvious by now, NewWaveToys is a 1/6 scale collectibles company. That 3/4 or full sized won't be coming from them... I've been trying to say this for like the past year now, so people don't get false hopes.
@@trailbreaker11 unfortunately a lot of people had high hopes and were needlessly let down due to a particular content creator that was adamant that a 3/4 or full scale cabinet was coming... and that rumor just spread throughout the community. It just never made sense to me for NWT to completely re-route their business to do that. I could just see it creating a lot of needles backlash toward NWT.
I was hoping maybe bowling was gonna be added in. I'm still gonna buy the Replicade as I always do, but not the deck as I have the original A1UP Golden Tee and that original trackball has been ok for me.
I live in Asia so the shipping would be murder , actually have a woodworker here looking at building me a stick like that. However, just that as a USB stick would be great. Even happy to pay more to support all the people over there in tbe states doing cool stuff
Got mine ordered. But no extra track ball control panel. I'm hoping all usb trackball work with it, but we'll see. Just hoping and praying the trackball on the replicade is an enjoyable/playable experience.
Yep - like I said in the video this is a nice win for New Wave Toys, good license for them to get and a nice win for Glen to be able to sell his products in partnership with them but personally I'm less hyped due to I wanted to see other Golden Tee Games or a larger form factor, etc.
Getting the replicade but not the deck. Would like to see them use the cab format for bowling like World Class Bowling. Maybe Target Toss too. Would really love Silver Strike but that ain’t happening.
I'd love to have one of these, but..... the price is an issue. I have an A1UP Golden Tee that I bought new from Walmart for $299 a few years ago, so to consider paying $220 with the discount, once you factor in shipping, or $370 for the cab + deck + shipping is a lot of $$$ Plus as you mention Pdubs, these are the same games that A1UP released. Frankly I think they should do without that bitpixel topper to reduce the price as it's really unnecessary IMO, and NWT really ought to include free shipping on anything over $100, otherwise I feel like they are gouging the customer.
Great job getting the content out so quick, PDubs. No Silver Strike Bowling or Shuffleshot is a disappointment. This will likely just be a display piece while i play Golden Tee on my Tank Stick.
Honestly, my two thoughts were that it was either going to be something that worked with the GRS Build-A-Cade, or something like this, where Glen developed a full size control panel that plugged into the NWT 1/6 scale cabs, so I'm not surprised. I didn't think they were going to try to get into the 3/4 or full scale market at all. If people were cringing at the A1U prices, they weren't going to like the price tag on a NWT 3/4 product.
I bought it regardless I love anything new from NWT plus the portability I can bring it to locations easily … I especially bought it for the playability factor and uniqueness … I wish they would sneak bowling on this ….
Nifty idea, but not for me. I only remember golden tee from the bars. I can’t wait to see the next NWT release. Awesome company, but the price seems a bit high. I would buy any of there other cabs before this one. Regardless, I hope skee ball is still a possibility!
As far as Golden Tee Fore…it is notoriously difficult to emulate and actually requires quite a bit of processing power…would be tough to shrink that without completely rewriting the ROM.
I probably would've passed on this one if it wasn't for me collecting every single NWT Mini Arcade Cab since day one. I know it's not cheap, but why stop now by breaking up the NWT collection. I'm sure the cab will increase in value, just like the rest of the other cabs once it's completely sold out. Especially when they are sealed in it's original packaging...
Been pretty disappointed with NWT since Ghosts & Goblins. Still waiting and waiting on Zoltar. No bueno on the cig machine. No bueno on the pinball. I’m sure their version of GT will be done well.. but we have this in many forms. For me this is a THUD! Keep up the good work Dubs!
It's not for me. Golden Tee Complete would have been a better license. This is neat, but a few years too late and it doesn't really move the needle any as these games have been done to death. Questions: Can you buy the controller as a stand alone product? And if so, does it have it's own PCB to play the games connected to a TV via HDMI?
I don't see the point in these over priced machines, myself - Just get a Arcade 1UP and convert it into a Multi-cade, that can play everything. Don't get me wrong, it looks great, but unless you make a ton of cash, this is becoming a hobby for the wealthy. Took me a year and a half to save up for a Chinese handheld, Ayn Odin 2 Pro, plays everything up to Nintendo Switch. Now that makes more sense to me, you will probably play that 10 times at most, then put it on the shelf, with all your other machines, i play my Odin 2 Pro, everyday since i got it. The most powerful Android 13 Handheld , perfect machine - 8Gen 2 CPU, with Adreno 740 GPU 12 Gig Ram, 128Gig internal memory. It’s like these guys are in cahoots with 1Up. Did something happen that I do not know about that has turned companies from creating full scale arcade cabinets? 🤔
Unfortunately, I think they’ve backed themselves into a bit of a corner here with the price point… I can’t imagine that this will be playable without the GRS control panel, but at $320 after the discount, I just don’t know that it makes sense. Honestly, you’d probably be better off just buying one of those old Jakk’s Pacific plug-n-play things for like $50 on eBay if playing the older GT games scratches your itch. Weirdly, I’d probably buy the 1/6 scale unit by itself if the GRS stick wasn’t an option, but because it is, I can’t just buy the base unit, and the combo puts it above what I’m willing to pay. Perhaps that sounds dumb, but that’s where I’m at with it…
I only own one Replicade and I don't think I'll be adding this one. I can't say I'm much of a Golden Tee fan and even if I was that price would be hard to swallow. Cool looking product but it's not for me.
