      Leah DelPezzo, *look at plenty of other gardens for inspiration before committing to something* and unless you have a very decided taste for a particular style, try to fit your garden to the climate and vegetation of your area.
      What bothers me about Laura’s garden is that everything relies on irrigation. If I lived in a desert I would devote at least part of my property to a xeriscape garden. On Pinterest there are gorgeous examples of such drought tolerant gardens and IMO they are more fascinating than the traditional and anonymous ones with box hedges, green lawn and neat flower beds.

    • @leahdelpezzo1364
      @leahdelpezzo1364 Před 5 lety +2

      dawn augustyn yes, I love Japanese maples. Anything with purple foliage is great for me!

    • @leahdelpezzo1364
      @leahdelpezzo1364 Před 5 lety +3

      Pat Pezzi I’m in the same climate zone as Laura, just on the east coast, so desert dryness isn’t something I’ll have to worry about. Irrigation does seem like a huge system to have to put in. I’ll have to look in to alternatives. But I have no idea about it, so perhaps the more I know, the more attainable it can be for me. Also always on Pinterest! Love it! I also am working with a garden center and their landscapers. I’m only watching Laura for inspiration 💕

    Your chickens will slow down this time of year and eventually stop laying as we head into winter. Their bodies need time to rest and their energy needs to go to maintaining body heat, not laying eggs. They will start molting soon, too, so be sure to supply them extra nutrients to help them as they go through that process. :)

  • @jenniferplunkettskibins4

    It helps all of us to see when you and Aaron change your mind and go through the effort of moving plants/trees to the place you really want them. Sometimes I find myself feeling defeated if I've gone through the work of laying something out, digging the holes, planting them in and then decide "I DON'T LIKE IT THERE!" But as you've said, our gardens are for our pleasure so if we're not happy, then every time we look at that spot, it'll nag at us rather than soothe us, as gardens are meant to!

    You have the best in ground soil! Here in upper Tennessee the soil is so often pure clay and always needs so much amending. No such thing as just digging a hole. Count yourselves so very lucky that you can! Thank you for all the wonderful instructions and inspirations!

    Oh Laura, thank you so much for this video, I giggled and laughed out loud and really enjoyed it. You and Aaron are the perfect compliment to each other and I love how cute you interact, the who's right spot, hehe, giggled at that one. I love to see Aaron in some of the videos, so fun, and I agree that the plum tree looks so much better not hiding behind the arbor, and it is such a beautiful tree that will fill that space perfectly. Love that Aaron sees your vision and then helps you achieve it, so understanding. I just really love your channel, it is so real and helps us all see the beauty in creating an appealing space that works. Pretty soon those "freeloading hens" will produce so many eggs they will be coming out of your ears, I giggled at that statement, and they are such beautiful chickens. Thank you for this video, it was such a great start to my boring morning. You and Aaron have a beautiful day, see you soon, bye for now.

    Time for a September garden tour. A lot of changes going on. Just an overall view of everything would be great. All the planters I got a sneak peek while watching you move that tree around was great. Keep them coming. Wish my husband would be interested in my projects like Aaron is yours. See you in the next video!
