In my opinion… Don’t sell anything. Your large drone can take care of everything. Whatever that Air3 has… Your Mavic 3 Pro has it as well. Keep the one without the geo-fence.

Geofencing is a real thing, man. Wait before you get rid of that Autel. You got to make that money man! DJI will probably have to update the Air 3 for 6 months before they come out with the Air 3s.

Hold onto the Autel until all the "bugs" have been addressed with the Air 3. It took me 2 years to get my first drone, which was the Air 2. I loved that smart, little guy, but I eventually had to sell it for medical reasons. Now I'm back in saving mode to do it again. Hang onto the Autel for now.
I sold my Air2s and the Air 2 . Kept the old mini.
Then i got a Fifish, man its a lot of fun.
My thinking was keeping at least two drones and a totally new toy . In my opinion i made a good choice.
What's a Fifish?
A mini sub . Tethered. Like a Dji drone but under water.
Honestly, with so many flight restrictions etc - all you need is just 1 drone.

Sounds like you made up your mind and as an influencer, I get it. You will miss that Lite+ though and it will probably cost you a job at some point for not having it. Having been bit by the DJI geoblocking, it's a sting I will never forget.

I'm with you, I'm trying to keep my drone lineup smaller this year. I try to sell any drones that I'm not flying anymore on the regular. But you make a good point about Geo-fencing on DJI drones, it's always wise to have at least one Autel Drone around for when your DJI drone just won't take off. Great video, and thanks for sharing.

I would keep that Autel given that you live in the Queens NYC area near two airports and a bunch of other stuff resulting in geofence restrictions. I really like DJI but it can be frustrating when there's an arbitrary geo-fence dozens of miles from the airpott whenever a key political leader or VIP is flying in.
I'd keep it until DJI releases the SDK for the air 3, and drone-hacks is set to keep you from worrying about geofencing. In fact, I don't think I will buy another DJI drone until the SDK is confirmed released and the controller is confirmed to allow 3rd party software.
Keep it.....I love mine and have been in the DJI unable to fly situation and that sucks and is why I sold my DJI

I’ve kept my Autel EVO2 version 1 with the RC pro for the same reason: no geofencing. Keep it!

bro, just subscribed as you are very good and hilarious to boot! i am going w/the same strategy of sm, med and large drones... love my DJI but like you said, if geo is locked and we're at a client, it's not a good look. but not sure what to do..Does Autel have a built-in screen controller at all like DJI? I haven't seen it so far on their site. I guess if not, that's where that tablet comes in that you speak of? thanks so much

But man, you need a drone that is not geo fenced.
In my humble opinion, keep the Autel. It is a great drone. What's the big deal? Just have 4 drones.

Always good to have at least one solid drone that you can depend on when needed. DJI drones are beautiful in flight... but what good is it when you can't take off.

The Air3 does not have a 1" sensor or variable aperture. The specs look INSANE!!! However, if NFZs are your main concern then keep the Lite+. Calling it a "medium sized drone" is a stretch since it's only around 60g lighter than the Mavic 3 Classic.
Classic is bigger in size, it feels more bulky too.
The Air specs can't be more than the mavic 3 pro!

Keep it. Fleet of 4. It's a specific tool like the others. It's a parachute/Break Glass in case, type tool.
Love the clarity from that camera..plus the lack of geo fencing...got to say I'm tempted to go for the autel...

The answer is quite simple. Keep the Autel. Having the mini3pro and Mavic3pro, the Air3 doesn't give you extra benefit except using the same interface. The quality of the Autel is good and the geofencing issue is a big plus. With the Autel you are much more flexible.

Keep it! Sometimes the DJI drones that I have can be difficult to take off because of various locations. I have complete confidence in my AUTEL models! any day!
I would hold onto the Aultel, the DJI Geo fence eventually will get you!
Making a mistake. Latest thoughts are the main camera on the Air 3 doesn't have a 1" sensor but has the camera and sensor of the Mini 3 Pro which you already have. Therefore all you'd gain is a 70mm which you already have in the Mavic 3 Pro. Lite + gives you insurance against all the many geofencing zones in the NYC area. Better off waiting to see what improvements the Air 3S has in 2024.
It's so difficult to not chase the carrot. Same thing here. I have an M2P, the old war horse. Also an Air2S with the Insta360 Sphere attachment. And finally a Skydio 2, which is fun as hell. I'm resisting right now as the drones I have are still covering all my needs. But we all know how that goes.
I would keep the Autel. The image quality is insane and no restrictions.
Hey bro., You better keep that drone! 90 percent of my drone fleet is DJI but my Autel cames with me for every job. At the very least I use the Autel as a scout drone to check out the tree lines and other flight hazards before missions. You will just have to go from 3 to a 4 drone pilot. You can do it!!! 😂

I haven’t seen details about the air 3 but I’m gonna wait for the air 3S. The mavic air 2 vs the air 2S was such a big difference.

@@xavier_arthur DJI is like Apple! There will DEFINITELY be an Air 3s and they will piss off everyone who jumped on the Air 3 , just like they did with the Mavic 3. I made that mistake but was lucky enough to be able to sell my Mavic 3 classic and Autel Evo 2 and buy my Mavic 3 pro
I would hold on to the Autel. I have that, both the Mini 3 Pro and Nano+ and Air 2S. It's great having two comparable drones in case one doesn't allow you to take off. I'm holding off on the Air 3 until someone does a video on if the Insta360 Sphere fits the Air 3 frame. At this point, the Mavic 3 Pro would be the only upgrade I need.

Great video, I have this drone too.... What I don't like w/ this drone is there's NO obstacle avoidance on your sides, only front & back. In making a wide turn I landed in trees (2) thank God no damage at all, one I had to climb 25 ft up to get to it.
I've never flown DJI & like Autel's compatibility.
Like you I want 3 drones. My basic model is the Autel Lite +, my middle model is the EVO 2 Dual 640T V2 8K
& my high model is what I'm looking at now the EVO 2 V3 6k w/ the sky deck V3. I will be able to put the 640T on the V3 6k Enterprise too.
Why clear the shelf? Keep the autel and air 3 as long as you have the money to do so.

Keep the Lite+. I'm in the same boat: two DJI's, one Autel. Likely going to grab the Air 3 also. 4 isn't a bad number! It's manageable.

Keep it. I have a mavic 2 pro and decided to get the autel lite+ instead of a mini 3 pro. I need the wind stability and no geo fencing of dji!
I'm new to drones so I cant speak to heavily on the matter. That being said If you have to have one drone in every class I'd hold on to the middle class drone as a spare. If the geo fencing is a real concern (have not ran into that issue yet) then you need that back up. This is especially true in the case that you use your drones to make a living. All three drones by the same maker is asking to have a problem down the line especially if they have same software. I'd love a skydio knowing this but they are always sold out lol. The air 3 is tempting and I might be grab it but I just got the Mini 3 Pro a little over a month ago so trying to wet my whistle on that first. Again keeping the middle weight drone you showed here would be a smart move in my opinion. that eliminates the potential of you going to do a job and DJI has all three drone on lockdown via software blocks.
I have the Mavic 3 Classic and just sold the Air 2s. Might just see what the Air 3 has to offer and maybe see if there is an Air 3s coming up next.
I’m keeping mine. Geofencing is the deciding factor.

3. I remember the melt down you had when your DJi drone could not take off because of the Geo fencing.

Keep it man!! I flew my Lite plus and Air 2s today and the one area I went to my Air 2s was a brick. Made me appreciate the Lite plus even more !!! I have yet to lose signal with the Lite plus whereas the Air2s frequently does. Better than occusync.
I like Autel but they don’t stand behind their products with customer support or firmware updates like they should
Yeah that's my one issue with them and its a major one.

Autel has the best cameras - Like you I have a small (Nano plus) - medium (Air2s) - and large (Autel EVO 2 Pro V1) - I'd keep the Autel and get the Air 3 - let the best drone win. I've had the E2P since it was released and I dont see myself selling that any time soon - plus the v1 has 10 bit color - the newer E2P v3 only has 8 bit color. I cant wait to see what the air 3 can do - then I'll likely wait a year to buy it.

If I was you, I would have a little patience in your life. With every new DJI drone there are always some start up problems. Often you don't get the full software package. It takes DJI a couple of months to roll out their first updates. In September, you can count on the new FAA rules kicking in too. All the more reason to keep the Evo. Just saying. Right now I have 7 drones but before I clean house, I am going to wait. If you'll remember, the Mavic 3 had serious GPS issues and it took half a year before they fixed it. I've come to realize that I don't need the next best thing that is rolling out. At least not until all the bugs are worked out. No buyers remorse here. Once they produce a solid drone then I swoop in and snatch it. Let all the other drone pilots figure out the in's and out's. It's why I like your channel. You always give top notch reviews but honestly, all this stress is not good for you bro. So wait, let the others do the stressing. Remote ID is right around the corner. It's going to be a thing. Keep the Autell. You'll be glad you did.

Keep at least one unrestricted Autel/Other especially If your work depends on having a functional drone. I kept one Autel because even their RC Pro times out and logs you automatically out after a month (guess why) which I discovered nearly to my peril and who knows what other restrictions they may come up with and they are not always upfront about it, like a version of the DJI fly app here in Europe that suddenly limited your max altitude to 120m, then they went back on that in next update, after complaints, I guess. That is the main thing that puts me off DJI, it means that after you pay out all that money you still don’t really own the drone and it can become a useless lump at any time at big foreign brothers say so. I’m just amateur tourist for fun flyer, and don’t want to carry potential brick in bag. Funny how they did not make that war zone over in east a no-fly zone despite claiming not to sell there.
Anyone who depends on a good drone for jobs should ALWAYS keep an Autel hanging around, DJI's geofencing is a real pain that can make you lose a good job at the least expected moment! Has happened to many fellow droners here. And those low altitude restrictions everywhere on big cities that cannot be unlocked, are severely restrictive. If it were not for that dreaded geofencing, I won't feel the need to keep the Autel, as DJI has everything else covered.
