- There are plenty of editing applications out there and it’s hard to choose one. I’ve been editing with a variety of different apps for the last 15 years.
So I wanted to make this video to share the top editing apps available right now.
There is also website like Envato Elements that have a ton of video templates for Davinci and Premiere Pro, that can really level up your editing.
1.envato.market/c/2500859/115...
If you haven’t used Envato Elements, it’s basically an all-in-one creative platform and really useful for video creation.
You can get video templates for editing apps, stock videos, music, and pretty much everything else you need to level up your video.
Envato also has a really useful CZcams channel, called Tut+, where you can take entire free courses on some of the apps I mentioned like Adobe Premiere Pro and others.
/ tutsplus
All these editing applications are going to work for Windows PC or Mac computers. Some will be free and others will have a paid subscription with a free trial. I’ll link all the resources I mention in the video in the description.
Mobile editing apps are still not as powerful as desktop apps. But I do have another video breaking down the top 5 mobile editing apps.
Adobe Premiere Pro
The most popular professional editing app is Adobe Premiere Pro.
This is the application my team and I have used most of the time in the last decade.
It works seamlessly with other Adobe apps like Photoshop and Aftereffects.
And you can do everything from basic editing to advance graphic animation.
You can get Adobe Premiere Pro with a free trial and then subscribe monthly.

Davinci Resolve
Another powerful editing app is called Davinci Resolve. This app has a free version that you can use. It started as a color correction tool and later became a full-blown video editing platform.
You can get Davinci Resolve here:
www.blackmagicdesign.com/prod...
Filmora
Filmora is a free video editing program for Mac or Windows PC.
You can download a free trial and test it out. But you will have to purchase it, to unlock all the features. Filmora also has a version for iPad and mobile, so it’s a great option for taking your editing on the go.
You can download Filmora from this link: (affiliate link)

Adobe Premiere Rush
Adobe has another editing app for computers and mobile devices called Premiere Rush. It’s a light version of Premiere Pro and a perfect app if you plan on taking your edits between mobile and desktop.
Adobe rush makes it really simple to edit your video, add titles, work with audio, color correct and easily share online.
You can get Adobe Premiere Rush from the link in the description. (Affiliate link)

Shotcut
shotcut.org/
Shotcut is a free, open-source, cross-platform video editor.
It's available for Mac, Windows, and Linux.
This one is easy to use for beginners, but you may want to graduate with more advanced applications once you finish several projects. A lot of the fundamentals of editing will still apply.
There are other apps I like such as Final Cut Pro and iMovie, but those are only available on Mac computers.
Check out the description below this video for more in-depth tutorials on each platform and choose the editing app that fits best with your workflow.
Thank you for watching this video! Subscribe to see more simple and easy to follow how-to videos.

Concise, accessible information…your channel is exactly what my nearly 80-year-old brain needs to shake the rust off as I re-immerse in current technology. Thanks

Thank you so much! Great video, really informative and concise.
A very cool video on editing, and I love your channel. Always looking for tips of the best Editors! 😁🤔
i love how it seems like editors keep the knowledge of editing open source. I think alot of people love the artform and wanna share it, probably the most tutorials on any subject on the internet.
Thank you for the information. I am just now starting my editing journey and found this information to be useful. Thumbs up!
Nice focus on the interfaces. I appreciate you saying which one you guys use.
Great rundown of the top video editing software! I appreciate the detailed comparison between Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve and your recommendation of Filmora and Adobe Premiere Rush really helps. Also, the tip about Envatoo Elements for templates is a game-changer. Thanks for the insights!"
Vsdc too
not gonna count
Dont know why but your comment is sounding like AI generated? If you dont mind, can you tell me a joke to prove you are not just an AI generated comment?
Thanks a lot for the video! A very helpful piece of info here.
Thank you! Your tips are so helpful! I appreciate it (:

What’s your thoughts on Vegas Pro 21?
it was very helpful. thanks!
I have quality loss ppff with openshot and imovie. Isn't there a program where you hardly have that? It went from 6GB to 1.50GB or does the quality remain the same?
Big brother thank you so much... Can I work with da Vinci after I install it, can I work and still to be offline?
Thank you for the info
Does Filmora have EQs Compressor and Limiter for audio tracks?
very helpful helped me post my first vid
could you please make a video on sony vegas?
I've had Wondershare for years till it came to their most recent upgrade which gave nothing but freeze and lockups..hence I dumped it.
So the question is, is final cut pro worth moving to apple for?
I need software that will allow me to remove original audio and add my own. What do you recommend? I'm a newb. Currently using NCH Software and that editor doesn't allow me to change out the audio.
Thanks! Love your video!
I am looking to start a CZcams channel soon. This video was exactly what I was looking for as I am still unsure which software to start off with among all the many options. Thank you!
Me too!
Mee too
What editor you coosed?
Haven't seen a single upload from you bud. Probably never will.
@@maynx2743 I chose Capcut and I have made three videos after my comments. Lets hope @ccardoso96 also takes the next step. :)
i used filmora for a long time, i like it. was thinking about another software to check out. thank you

what is the best one in the world for editing easily in advanced?
These apps leave watermarks when you upload?
wondering why you didn't include power director?
What about Sony Vegas?
Corel video Studio?
Nice video!
Thanks 🎉
ty bro
Thanks so much. Do you have video on Final Cut Pro? And Macbook photo editing. I think Final Cut Pro is only software thats only for Macbook. Others are Windows and Macbook. Is Final Cut Pro hard. I prefer editing on my Iphone. So maybe I will pay for Rush. Can you like me your video for Android and Iphone video and photo editing and Stories and Reels and TikTok editing apps in app store they dont have to be free.
shark what? what are the names of the whole programs?
Ok thank you for the video. I wanted to see if there are editing programs on the phones but the screen is small, it would be tiring. I was using Canva in the past, maybe I will catch up with it. The problem is that my job isnt really to edit videos but when i do pay for the video editing I do not really like the result. Anyone else experiencing the same problem? Lol
Luma Fusion
Congratulations 👏😊
How is cyberlink power director 365?
thanks man
Thank you so so so so so so so so so so so so so so much
I appreciate your experience. Perhaps you can help make a recommendation. I am relatively new but have tried Shotcut, Resolve and now IMovie but each seems to have issues. My video has 70+ clips plus music plus an audio where I speak. I have encountered a lot of software issues depending on the maker but I need to easily and seemlessly blend these components. What would you recommend for an editor?
which of those 3 did you like the most?
And VEGAS?
Can you give advice. I was looking for another editor because I just started editing but this is SOOO slow on my pc. (I have a decent pc that streams games perfectly fine)
From my experience
1. use Shotcut (it is really light, used to work on a 8 year old laptop quite fine)
2. use proxies (to downscale your video from 1080p to 480p or even lower) this helps a ton
3. add effects at the end (like special filter oder more advanced animation) this can really destroy the performance
Still using shotcut after 8yrs and I tried a few others but I'm very comfortable with shotcut.
I was using dupdub to edit but they limit the downloads to 500mb which means a 10 min video would have to be 480i resolution. Will Adobe premiere pro limit me as well or can I download 1080p and then upgrade the video to 4k after editing to export?
I believe there's an option in Davinci for upping the resolution, although I wouldn't recommend it as it softens the image like crazy.
What about hitfilm? I just learn using it
so who is the winner for free and for a beginner?
Where vegas pro???
I love this video so much
Where's the link
Ima stick do CapCut 😉😌
Picked filmora a long time ago because of their lifetime license. Looking to switch after that crap they pulled where they told everyone with lifetime licenses that they had to buy a new license. It's left a bad taste with me ever since. Gonna try Resolve this time around💀
I am looking for a free one that doesn't have a watermark, I saw that Filmora has a massive watermark, are the other free ones the same?
i have used davinci (free version) before it dosent have a watermark
What about Final Cut Pro
What is your take on Hitfilm express?
Haven’t used that one
Hitfilm express isn't free and therefore is not worth it. We'll yes it is, but what you get for it without paying, don't waste your time.
Which app did you use to edit this video
Premier
Clip champ lagging a lot and crash too
you have to give right informations because filmora isnt for free, with the free version you wont be able make videos without advertising
Is there a video editing software that allows you to make an 8 or 10 hr video and is free? I'm using Capcut and it's limited- I can't make a video longer than 2 hrs. Thank you
why do you need a 10 he video😭
@Cubx44 for those long videos for sleep sounds, nature sounds, background music for focus etc...
@@samsham2295 ohh i see u could always edit them in sections then put them together
thank u
Hi nice video
I'm still using Window Movie Maker for my youtube channel.
Hi sir do you get enough money from CZcams? Im curious coz im starting
@@Manifestsalsa I’ve made $38,000 in 11 years of making videos.
cool it helped ig thx
God bless everyone and have a good day! ,
It keeps crashing on me
What about VN editing app, Plz say something about this VN video editing app
its nice for beginners but there is a small circle of options
@@userlol844that's true it does not let u search for music
I wanted K-pop and it gives me "beats"lame beats !!😢
nice
Cool
Davinci resolve
what about filmora 12
It's Now Updated to Filmora 13 now! Filmora is great and does A.I really well!
❤❤❤
I am starting to make videos and I’ve experimented with lots of different editing softwares, the problem is that if I have a bunch of GoPro clips to put into at once the softwares i use don’t allow me to select them all at once and put them in. It would take me hours to slowly click and import each of the clips into the software for me to start editing. It would be great help if you responded to this comment. Thanks
Being free, da Vinci Resolve is definitely the software that's worth getting for anyone that's starting out with video editing.
I'm an avid Premier Pro fan, but my go-to when recommending editing software for beginnings has been da Vinci Resolve for years. A 15-minute beginners tutorial is all that's needed to get people into basic editing, and once they get comfortable, da Vinci already has built-in tools to allow them to expand to more advanced options. Plus, there's so much similarity between the two that, if they decide later to upgrade to Premier Pro, there's not much of a learning curve - it mostly just takes getting used to the different interface.
Very well put
@@Howfinity Much thanks. And thank you for this video. Provided great information for people looking to get started.
ay im looking for an editor would you be interested?
i used to use davinci but i dont like it anymore, so i mgoing to get a new one
Nah, it turns into a monthly fee grab. No thanks.
That is one
NO WARNING and my HitFilm full version suddenly stopped with a message (You're currently offline). I tried to go online to sign in and it would just be like I hadn't signed in at all so I reset the password and they sent me an email to do it and that did not work. I can't sign into my account so I am sending a message via CZcams to see if I can get support. If I need an upgrade then why not send me an email and why cut me out of my account? This is very odd behavior for a company to do and I may have to make a video on it so that others can see what happened.
Good
the fact that it says in 2023 when it wasnt even released in 2023
Adobe premier pro is so so slow.
It's kind of a skanky move by these companies to charge you monthly to use a video edit software.
is it a paid one
no capcut 😐
Dont not recommend Adobe Rush! Multiple crashing issues. Waiting for my year discription to end...
I find it quite glitchy, what are going to move to afterwards?
Can anyone advise me. Im looking to get a new editing programme but unsure which one. this video has really helped narrow it down but wondered if anyone can recommend one or give their opinion on it. Looking at Davinci Resolve, Filmora or Premiere Rush. Id love something not too advanced but also something i can create great videos with (feel free to check out the videos im posting at the moment for reference) i am currently unemployed so i dont want to be paying loads for an editing programme so either ones that is free or has the option to upgrade when i am able to, but i still want to make good videos with a free version. it could be benefical to have a phone version so im i am traveling or have to get a video edited quickly i can do it on my phone but its not essentail as i usually edit a few weeks in advance. If anyone can help me with their personal expereince that would be great. thank you
From what this guy says start with Davinci Resolve which is more user friendly then maybe move up to Adobe or something else. I am starting a channel so i am in the same boat looking for editing right now!
2:30 - never a fan of this, blurring the lines between clear advertisement and genuine recommendation
