- This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. How can we solve the world's problems? We can start with social enterprises...and maybe earn some money, too. Marquis Cabrera shares what the most successful social enterprises have in common.

At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. Loving the concept of Social Enterprise (SE) and I will use his BIB methodology to share it in my toastmaster club tomorrow inshallah :D but if i had to share an insight i learnt from Marquis Cabrera is this " Life is too short to bulid things that don't matter"
1) Find a problem to solve ( Just ask What & Why) to bulid your Business Model
2) Create an impact ( just ask what value are you creting and how much ?
3) Build your brand with supportive Network and superstars to make it happen

The power of a tragic life story that turns into doing good in the world is very common theme in those starting social enterprises. The key to success lies in the alignment with purpose, the monetization model and capturing the hearts of the target audience.

How do I know if an social enterprise will be able to sustain itself for more than 10 years? What are the factors I should be looking at?
Economic and cultural shifts. You have to keep track of the problems you decided to solve in order to avoid offering something which is not longer useful or effective.
Both of the two examples Mohammad Yunus and Salman khan are Bangladeshi.. Proud to be Bangladeshi !
And it's no coincidence, considering the gigantic problems that your country has. May Allah bless them both and your country :)

I'm going to be I may need some advice on starting up,I'm a Kentucky boy (eastern) .so Ive seen may problems ,stigmas label some of them a problem,which causes the problem ,in most part,,You may hear of my idea 1day TIPCHANGE, I'll be doing a ride this spring Miles4Smiles anyone wanta help me start a campaign it's to raise awareness /money in dental health and how severe missing teeth are and how it affects the community,causes shame lack of confidence, the mental problem as well as physcail,..people with I'll dental health are more likely to be long term unemployed on ssi, TIPCHANGE FOCES'S ON A PROBLEM world wide that gives much value ,I'm excited and proud to have this idea God given I know
