    Testfiring Pedersoli's Remington replica. This gun is the 2011 version, the same that won the MLAIC European Championships this year.

    I live in the USA...Love your videos...I am a subscriber. Being a disabled veteran I don't get out much but I love firearms history and as far as I am concerned you have one of the best and informative not just back powder but many ot5her historical guns as well. If I ever win the lottery I'll take care of your channel forever. PS ....I have a Uberti Remington and I use .457 ball. They aren't that hard to push in and give me a tight seal.

    The Pedersoli Remington replicas are very rare in the US. They are available in Europe and this model is still for sale in late 2021. Pedersoli also makes a hard chromed version which looks very nice. They are almost twice the cost of a similar Uberti. Thanks for the video.

    I have just acquired a pedersoli target myself (see my video) it is a lovely gun to shoot and superbly made. I have shot less than 50 rounds so far and I am able to get 3 inch groups at 25 meters it will only get better. Great videos from you and a great gun from pedersoli.

    Nice video, You are correct to mike out the cylinder and press the bullet through to see what actual caliber size projectile would be best for it. My VKV BG 456 Universal Bullet would work well in that Revolver. It is 240 grains and packs a wallop, designed for hunting and very accurate for target shooting and Cowboy Actions shooting competition as well.

    • @modelmaker7847
      @modelmaker7847 Před 9 lety +1

      McBears1 I think that Uberti and Pedersoli cooperates for the manufacturing of certain models. It seems that the 1858 Remngton is identical at both marks, the difference is the adjustments more tightened for Pedersoli which is optimized for the competition, comparable to a weapon of match. What would explain the price difference. beryllium nipples for Pedersoli.

    I do like that pedersoli remington. I used to have an uberti remington .44 and an uberti remington .36 and in my .44 I would use 30 grains of 3f and a Cabela's lubed felt wad and a 200 grain lee mould conical and from 30 feet I got good enough accuracy. I could fire 6 shots and hit all 6 within a 6 inch paper plate. With the .36 I used a 122 grain lee mould conical and 25 grains of 3f and a Cabela's lubed felt wad and from the same distance I got the same accuracy doing 6 shots in a session

    If Pedersoli was going to do this they should have built a copy of the Remington 1858 New Army I would have been interested in that. I don't want incorrect copies of period gun. One reason I don't like Pietta 1851 Navy revolvers is the grip shape it is wrong. I buy Uberti because it is a better copy. The best copy of an 1860 Army is the Belgium Colt 1860's made in the 1960's and imported under the name of the 1960 Centennial New Army. It is as close to an original as you will ever see.

    capandball , did your heard about puting grease under the bullet? I heard it works better

    • @Jrhoney
      @Jrhoney Před 7 lety +1

      If you put it under the ball you will contaminate the powder charge which could cause it to not ignite.

    • @deandeann1541
      @deandeann1541 Před 6 lety +1

      In my opinion it does work better - it spreads grease through the cylinder and helps to stop corrosion. But you must use a felt or cardboard patch under the ball to prevent powder contamination, and dont use much grease.

    How about 457 bullet ?

  • @dummylastname2936
    @dummylastname2936 Před 4 lety

    The reason why you put grease on top of each ball, is to avoid ignition of all other chambers when firing, as the bullets would hit the frame, destroying it and your hand along. So it’s for safety. Not so much to oil the barrel.

    Only 5 grain for the best load, wow. Is there a minimum load for percussion revolvers?
    It would be interesting to test how much less you can load before the bullet would stuck in the barrel.
