Hey Jake, You really shoud react to their performance at Söngvakeppnin Finals. They are really delivering a really good show. Not only a great song, but a really good performance. My winner for this year.
But in that instant thing called Eurovision nobody can get a deeper meaning that needs a deeper analysis. The first impression counts and the first impression the song gives is exactly the opposite, it's aggressive and repulsive.
@@Marios_Gr Real art is ALWAYS shocking and impactful. Remember the raw, almost blasphemous images of Caravaggio, remember the primitive, totally unacademic cubist paintings by Picasso, the real shark in formaldehyde by Damien Hirst, the provocative, antisystemic graffiti work by Banksy. Hatari do conceptual art, and at least they do not participate with another bland song about 'happiness and love, love, loooooove'.
The comparison of Hatari to Caravaggio and Picasso is really laughable. They are not even great artists on what they do, they are extremely mediocre on that genre. So you can see it in the other way, that in many cases people who can't attract attention with their talent, because it actually doesn't exist, use provocation for that purpose. The comparison to Sylvia Night is a more accurate one in their case. For that reason, using a constant massacre for both Palestine and Israel for their promotion, through that fake and supposed satirical roles, is really hideous. So no, you can't use ANYTHING for your career, my dear. P.S. I so much prefer an honest and really artstic love song than that not even professional parody.
Marios Gr, You say they do not have talent but you do not define what talent is. And for your information, both Caravaggio and Picasso received harsh criticism regarding their art (and lifestyle) while still alive. The difference between Sylvia Night and Hatari is that Sylvia Night was just an act on stage. Hatari reach beyond that with their general attitude and visualisation of their songs. As for them being mediocre at what they're doing, I can only tell you that even if we do accept that you're right regarding this, it's still not a problem since all Eurovision entries this year are extremely mediocre, uninspired, most of them generic and bland, predictable, and within the comfort zone of a contest that desperately needs to reinvent itself. React to the national final performance! My winners. Amazing, outstanding, deep, original, iconic. I think it really is my favorite Eurovision entry of all times, and they are definitely my favorite band. They're such perfect characters, and their music is so good. It's not just techno, it's not just industrial, it's a whole performance. The lead singers are cousins. That's how is usually with harder vibe songs (metal, punk etc.). Groups from these genres usually have the best singers for their melodic parts (often outstanding opera singers), as less talented or trained for singing people can always learn how to growl or play some basic instruments. And with how normalised and popular this kind of music is in north and Europe in general it isn't that hard to find people who wanna participate.
Trust the 'Nothern Countries' to throw some quality stuff into the contest. To me, Nothern countries are Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden Finland, Estonia and Latvia. Geographical hugs from a Belgian person. Keep up with the good work Jake (and your face).
The perfect song to let your face react on. Why oh why is my countries song in the second half of the second half final..takes so long for us to see your reaction on the Dutch entry!
They've publicly stated that the song is a dark vision of the future if the current trends of populism in Europe keep going. So when you see the lead singer walking up to that platform, and giving an angry speech while the flags unfurl, what he's screaming is "Hatred will win! / Europe will collapse! / A web of lies! / Risen from the ashes, unified as one!"
I love them. This will polarize and have its haters but it also has lots of lovers who will definitely pick their mobile to vote them so they will likely succeed (Top 10?) The lyrics definitely suggest it's an ideal song to be sung on the eve of the eruption of a local Icelandic volcano that would wipe out the entire European continent and all forms of life there. Fun fact: The group itself is like an alter ego of themselves, they're now the idols of lots of Icelandic children out there, you ought to check their "postcard" video for NF to know their lovely face. Not my cup of tea but they're surely heading for the final and I'm suspecting they will be in the top 10. Quite a memorable act which helps a lot in the final.

Here's the reaction everyone was waiting for! The first time I watched the video (I watched the national final performance) I was terrified, so much so that I didn't want to watch it again. Eventually, I did, and the more I listened to the song, the more I liked it! It's bold, and unique, and I can't get it out of my head! I hope Iceland is going to the final!
Poland and Iceland always avant-garde!
One of my favorite this year, woah
Do you need a hug after that 🤗😂 I cant deal with the shouting 🙉 I like the electronic vibe of the song though 👍🏻 I mean it’s totally different 😳 and who knows with Eurovision 🤷🏼♀️ xx 💋
My number 1 in this year🖤🖤🖤
Hatari must win!!!
MMm nice to see Jake bop around a bit @ 3.17 :) Looks good mate wooof :)

This guys are so controversal and that's exactly what esc needs.
Country who will perform after Iceland will be totaly forgotten.

I hated it the first time I heard it but I think it takes two or three listens to get over the initial shock. I absolutely love them now. Potential winner!
My absolute favorite ❤ HATARI
Jake’s face😂😂😂 i have had the same face when first watched this! And i still have the same face when i see it recommended in my youtube feed......
I know I’m 2 years late but he’s so shocked/ surprised over the whole song 😂

Hatari- interview 👏 czcams.com/video/--_d1RINzUM/video.html
Initially when I heard this, I was like “WTF”. But now, I love how this stands out! I really want Iceland to win in the future. They might have a chance this year. After all, they do well every 9 year (2nd in ‘99, 2nd in ‘09).
Love your epic thumbnail👋
i love your reactions 😂😂😂😂😂
I love Hatari !
This year is all about Iceland, Portugal and Italy!
Bit of a change from last years song. Love it
Not my cup of tea but they're surely heading for the final and I'm suspecting they will be in the top 10.
Quite a memorable act which helps a lot in the final.
Love it. Best from Bosnia, Sarajevo
This song is amazingg
MY WINNER!!!
The facial expressions tell everything
I see Hatari, I click
Disturbing? Hell , yes :) Unapologetic, straight in your face! My winner!
One of my favs this year, maybe they will win
Somehow I always like such acts in eurovision. Last year Hungary was awesome. I am glad there is so much diversity on this competition :D
Jake I think this will finish very high. Top 5 for me
Hey, just wanted you to know that 1 of your videos is being used in other channel.
If you don t know about this let me now!
I really can't decide on my top 3. But iceland fits there. It's time for them to qualify + they are my favourites in first semi and I can 📞
I know what you felt .. the first shock
my reaction was similar for the first time .. :D
I thought this song was just this year's troll song .. not a Eurovision song ..
.. then I listened again and again ..
I don't understand exactly what the lyrics ..
but I already like it .. :)
.. and I can't explain why .......
Maybe .. because it's different and unique
and so is the place in the finals ..
Good luck from Hungary..! :)
Genius song!
i really like this song
Thank you i love you to i’m from iceland❤️❤️😘
Winner😍
Loved your Face for this one. It's actually a good song once you get used to the verse vocals, the chorus is Fantastic and balances out the harshness. It will get top 10 on the night, if not upset everyone and win the contest. Lorde 2.0😈😇😎
the live performance is even more shocking xd
