  • And so the Ocean Saga comes to a grand close, and quite a messy one at that... not that it'll get any easier since Odysseus's problems are on HIS ship specifically let's be totally honest.
And he's like half of them.
Also I realized while putting the thumbnail together this one is very, very blue lol

I'm so GLAD you brought up how Poseidon favored the Trojans because it had to be ESPECIALLY insulting to use a horse, Poseidon's Animal, to wreak havoc on Troy

But he didn't favour the trojans he was definitely on the Greeks side. In the Iliad At one point he ether possesses one of them or just comes down to kill a hole bunch of trojans.

Jorge is actually coming out with the first two sagas again as well since the production company has not given him a dime of royalties! So if you want to listen to the first two sagas don’t stream them until the 4th then stream with the new ones.

Look, the crew didn't have enough brain cells for everyone and Odysseus had them for the most part. Still, I *wish* Poseidon had gotten the dudes who opened the bag cuz the part of the song where Odysseus is taken away from dream Penelope is so heart breaking
Like, plz guys, this is your captain, your king, did the Trojan war destroy every single part of you that could *follow basic directions??*
Did you use all the discipline during the battles and now just sheer stupidity is left?? Odysseus had his moments of stupid both in the original and in the musical, but his crew *inhales deeply*
Edit: also, just expanding on Poseidon also having ties with Ithaca. The thing is that nowadays people don't quite get what polytheism truly is. Like, yeah, cities had their patreon gods but it doesn't mean they just ignored all the others. If you had anything to do with the ocean, be nice, make an offering to Poseidon and pray he's in a good mood. If you need nice weather too, there's a myriad of gods to try to appeal to, and all without ever forgetting your patreon god. Like, there isn't any reason that the gods would be truly opposed to being worshipped together. They might have beef with each other in specific myths but it doesn't affect the rest, you know. But considering that most people are monotheists and heavily influenced by Christianism, the in-between lines of polytheism sort of gets lost
Just look at any fictional world that has multiple gods, the worshippers of god A usually are fighting the worshippers of god B or C and so on. It's like the idea that you *have* to choose just one god is way too ingrained in people's minds. It's one of the reasons I'm so critical of fictional religions that are polytheistic cuz a lot of nuance just isn't there
Sorry for rambling! This type of stuff is my special interest and I get into lecturer mode lol

In Odysseus's defense I don't think an apology would do shit. This entire song was about how "Ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves." so Poseidon would have just killed them anyway.
He probably saw this and said the best thing he could basically, "Hey look, your boy gave me shit and I checked him, I don't like it but we wanted to leave."
Also, I just found this channel howdy doody my guy!

    • @SeikerHikaru
      @SeikerHikaru  Před dnem +1

In complete fairness to Odysseus as well the gods aren't exactly known for meting out punishments FAIRLY for even a minor slight against them. So yeah as someone else said AT BEST an apology means Odysseus probably would've gotten away with his CREW being spared... not himself.
But them Greek Gods do like their poetic ironies.

POSEIDON WAS NOT ON THE SIDE OF THE TROJANS. Didn't he kill that prophet in the beach that suggested not accepting the trojan horse? Didn't he secretly encourage Agamemnon when Hera was distracting Zeus when Zeus had said none interfere and let Trojans win cuz Thetis-Achilles' mother was pissed on his behalf? No Poseidon was NOT on the Trojan side.

HEY! Love your insights on these songs 😁! I would regret it if I didn't make the suggestion, but I really think you'd LOVE anniflamma's animatic of Ruthlessness (czcams.com/video/0IsYf_0UGLE/video.html&pp=ygUdZXBpYyB0aGUgbXVzaWNhbCBydXRobGVzc25lc3M%3D) , they go for a much creepier vibe for Poseidon that I think really fits the vibe ! Again, love your content, can't wait to see more from you 😁
