Dad’s Army will forever be remembered as one of the finest comedy series ever made (along with Fawlty Towers and Yes Minister/Yes Prime Minister). Sadly, only Ian Lavender, who played Pike, and Frank Williams, who played the Vicar, are still alive from the main cast members but they will always live on in the 80 episodes that were made and That are still as funny now as when the episodes were still broadcast. Captain Mainwaring, Sargeant Wilson, Corporal Jones, Privates Fraser and Godfrey, Warden Hodges and the 2 cast members I mentioned before, And all the other members of the cast, no matter how small a part they played, will, I am sure, always have A special place in our hearts. Rest In Peace all those members who are no longer with us.
classic, wonderful, innocent comedy. far beyond the rubbish we have to suffer these days.
As an Australian myself, I have to say that I feel honoured by this joke.

This is probably my favourite Dad's Army gag :')
War is no joke!
Arthur Lowe would have made an epic Churchill...
Classic.
Also in one episode Captain Mainwaring tells a joke about helping a soldier to desert/dessert
+Peter Downey Classic that one is.
Liam Blackburn The episode is "Turkey Dinner"
And the Brits pronounce "Mainwaring" as "Mannering" not "Main-waring" ?
