I swear Kyla Ross had feet made of stone on her bars dismount. I think she stuck more landings than anybody else ever. That back layout twist was incredible and her feet were like electro magnets attracted to steel.
McKayla is the best female vaulter in history. Hands down. No discussion. I was devastated for her when she fell on individuals at the Olympics. Her Aminar is FLAWLESS. She is better than almost all of the men that perform that vault. When they make it look that easy, you know they are off the charts.
Mykayla could've gotten 15.500 in her floor score. Without the 3 tenth penalty + small hop + small step in her third pass. I also counted 5 tenths of a deduction on her last pass (landing position + large step)
You know how they talk about how rare it was with Mckayla and Kyla growing up from the same gym and then somehow ending up together on the same (5-member) Olympic team? Me, I just appreciate that both of them are rare gymnasts who really have good running technique (natural or learned? Did they run around their old gym playing tag when they were kids? lol). Shallow I know and probably not something appreciated by hardcore gymfans as it's only necessary on one vault, but personally I appreciate it when watching vault.
And thats considering they both didnt perform that well at quals, i remember kyla clipped the bars and lost half a point, she had alot of balance checks on beam, and maroney didnt have the best vault.
"Split the Beam" I have a younger lady friend who did gymnastics. She said her groin, pelvicll region and her private part was so sore it hurt to sit on a pillow after falling like that. 😭
Great video if they both had just mostly hit routines for sure AA gold. Kyla bars hit the bar and Mckaya's out of bound is a full point. Without those deductions, they would have been unstoppable
Question but I've never been able to find an answer. When Kyla is doing her giants (I think lol...I'm not a gymnast but a big fan of the sport) on the lower bar, she puts her feet on the bar as she swings around but one leg goes before the other. I've seen other gymnasts do it. Is it because of their height so they don't touch the floor and are there deductions for that?
It's not a giant, it's a toe shoot or toe on I don't know what is called and usually it's used as a transition routine or used in skills like a Ray or a tweddle.
@@Sunflower_vally yes that was it. Toe something. But I meant like usually It’s done with both legs at the same time. I always thought that they do one leg at a time to avoid hitting the floor. It seemed off so I wasn’t sure.
Simple...she would have won Bronze. Actually, Ross had an Amanar but it was never ready for competition. Komova and Gabby had Gold and Silver on lock and that is due to Uneven bars...same reason Mustafina won gold. Bars was the secret weapon that quad.
Perhaps, but the US women were overscored at the Olympic Trials by about 0.3 - 0.4 compared to Olympic games scores and they were well paced to peak in London, so add that to the Olympic scores of Raisman and Douglas and they still come out on top!
@@MGYM2008 for some reason I thought she came out and said it was more than a broken toe, but an actual stress fracture in her foot as well? She did a ton of damage to it which was gravely downplayed by Marta.
@@Sunflower_vally from interviews, she said she *wanted* to compete. The Olympics were her dream and even a broken foot wasn’t going to keep her from competing. I believe it’s gymcastic that has the interview… may be wrong on that one.
And what if Joe Montana and Jerry Rice were one NFL player, would this player throw touch down passes to himself?... And what if you stop asking silly questions?..
McKayla had the talent to be a good all rounder but her coaches and the system failed her.
Definitely. She was so great on vault it overshadowed just how good her floor routine is. Her triple and a half was incredible.
At a minimum she should have some FX medals.
Actually. Her floor was amazing, and her bars and beam were great, she also placed 5th or 6th I think in 2013 qualifications.
@@MGYM2008 Yeah, but with Marta Karolyi in charge she had no chance of getting picked for all 4 routines.

I think there’s a looong compilation of Yao Jinnan bars DLO sticks too
@@nondescriptbeing5944 Thanks, I'll check for it.
Makayla will always be one of my favorite gymnasts. LOVED her. ❤️
This would have been incredible to watch. I always loved McKayla on FX and Kyla was just always so focused. If only…..
Ohh i miss these two! And the rest of 2012 squad

You could take McKayla's floor from day 1 of trials, which scored 15.2
In that case, that would make the Kyla/McKayla hybrid the #1 qualifier for the AA, beating even Komova's overall Quals AA score.
That’s with domestic inflation
McKyla Marossney or Kayla Rossney...it even blends well together. Bestiessss
Maroney was a great twister but her floor was so badly constructed. That 1 1/2 + double tuck instead of a triple was a crime.
I dont understand why everyone thinks she's so amazing. I really think she is massively overrated
Her vault. It's still better than Simone and Andrade ever were.
That was enough to never be overrated.

true, but doubtful that they would have given her a 9.500 execution regardless of how well she did, they always have something to deduct.
This is such a cool video idea!!! Love these two gymnasts. ❤️

The fact that they made several uncharacteristic mistakes and still had a score that high is crazy

My God, were Kayla's beam connections slow...
This is a gift.
Just unbelievable!!
#Mykyla Love this video!
McKyla Marossey
McKyla MaRoss!!

Please do a video of mykayla opening 3 1/2 twist. It's beautiful ❤️
Kyla's Routine just so clean

You should have used McKayla’s score from night 2 !
I call her McKyla Maross.

no, it’s not for a specific reason, it’s just a transition root! :)

I think you could take alot of gymnasts and use Makaylas vault and they would qualify

this is true, but given that all of their qualifying routines were not their best, they could’ve scored much higher!
Yeah, but the routine he picked for Mckayla wasn’t even the top scoring one…
Why Mykayla didn't compete on floor? She's so good 😻
she had a broken foot so she had to limit what she competed on, but she would have been great!
@@MGYM2008 for some reason I thought she came out and said it was more than a broken toe, but an actual stress fracture in her foot as well? She did a ton of damage to it which was gravely downplayed by Marta.

She had a broken foot. Larry Nassar and Martha karolie lied and let her compete on a broken foot.

03:30 My God what’s up with that floor?? Sounds like she’s jumping on top of a filing cabinet 😣
However Komova would have beat the duo ijs
How big headed is McKayla though?? To think her and someone else would make the ULTIMATE gymnast? Geez
Kinda an insulting title tbh.
Unpopular opinion: Kyla is over hyped considering she never updated her skills/routines
Kyla Ross was so boring to watch, and her crunchy toes were horrible
So “boring” but yet you clicked to watch…
