Fantastici beatles ❤
Well, one reason why this film is getting better reception is that the 'Get Back' doc offered a more balanced perspective, so this film can now be seen as a digest version of those events. Also, the shock of the Beatles break up was palpable in 1970, so there was a lot of lashing out.
Thanks for sharing. I hope to watch it someday, along with "Get Back." Shawn R., Mo-Mutt Music/Sacred & Secular (and Beatles fan)
I see what you did there “ now and then” 👍🏻
I saw the "Let it be" movie back in the 70's. I don't remember it being depressing at all.The Beatles looked like they enjoyed jamming and rehearsing together.
The Liverpool Lads never stop giving to us, it seems
Absolutely fantastic have a wonderful day also today is my oldest sister birthday ❤😊
Yeah, it certainly could’ve been better. Especially watching all the get back footage that was available at the time, but it wasn’t utilized. And some of the editing is pretty clunky on the original - they cleaned it up on the new version, though. Still worth watching - some stuff here that didn’t appear on get back
The people reviewing it in 1970 are probably not reviewing it in 2024 so you’ll get different viewpoints
I don't see the need for this after 8 hours of Get Back
It was the original film shown in cinemas around the world in 1970 containing crucial song performances the day after the rooftop recording - not included in the Get Back project by Peter Jackson!
I actually love that we get to see this now after the getting the full context from the Get Back series. I agree GB has a LOT more to offer than Let it Be, and I would probably sooner rewatch all eight hours of that than the ninety minute film, but it's able to shed it's reputation of being grim after all these years.
We must admit. It is a bad film.
Its a bad film about an extremely interesting subject.
there is no story, no 'file rouge'. None of the people outside the Beatles are introduced, and nowhere is explained why the Beatles go on the roof, or suddenly appear in Apple Studio.
I'm still super happy it was made, and the mulit camera set up on the roof is truly revolutionary.
