Peter Jackson's becoming the fixer upper of Beatles history. Maybe he could do something with left over footage of the Magical Mystery tour movie.
They had outtakes with the MMT DVD a few years ago.
@@terrythekittieful ok, have to check it out.
That’s my dream…. Make it a good movie.
By fixer upper I assume you mean propagandist for Ono and macca
The Washington Coliseum concert would be a dream in HD, color and of course the Peter Jackson audio treatment!
Getting that sound up to scratch would be a challenge but to hear Ringo's drums at the max would be something. He was insane that night.
@@terrythekittiefulone of the most important beatle shows!!
hell yeah
Star Club. One of my Fave Beatles Records. Do It Peter.
He bought the Tapes !
Please Peter I’m 62 do this before I die ……….
You’ve still got time!!
Spoken like you're 82
Hopefully he and his team will do the Anthology series, that was brilliant back in the mid 80’s love to see it remastered in stunning High Definition
mid 80’s ??🤔😆
1995
It’s funny, when this was released it blew everyone away. Now the fans complain that the footage was too clean, are we ever satisfied. Anyway I thought Peter did an amazing job.
I would love to hear and see what Peter Jackson could do with the 64 Washington DC concert or the Shell concert.
What about their last concert in San Francisco? Includes "middle period" Beatles songs like "Yesterday"
India and White Album footage with better sound could be a great watch. Must be extra Magical Mystery off cuts too.....
There is quite a bit of film on the recording of Hey bulldog.
I honestly believe Magical Mystery Tour could greatly benefit from a new remaster such as the one they did for Let it Be
It'll still be a mess.
Utilizing hundreds of hours of restored footage, Jackson is currently working on a film that depicts the Beatles finding a magical ring which they must destroy in order to save Middle Earth.
i hope somebody does the same with Led Zeppelin....there is bound to be some unseen/unused The Song Remains The Same footage out there
This was already done.
@@MusicOverMyHead yes parts of it
Wow, the Star Club music sounding good; that would be fantastic! Also, a state-of-the-art restoration of Anthology, and all of the concert films and TV appearances. Oh, and everything else too!!
If it's a live action film next that's not a documentary, I'd suspect it'll be a restored concert film, maybe with songs added in. The Shea Stadium show has never been released in full, so that could be a good candidate. The Star Club thing wouldn't be live action as he'd have to animate The Beatles due to there not being any footage. There is less than a minute of footage from another show from that era, but that's it. I'm sure that is something that Peter Jackson has on his to do list though.
Shea stadium with the original audio, without overdubbs and even if there were mics fails....
Help! remastered and an extended version of Magical Mystery Tour would be very welcome.
What about. the final Beatles live concert, Candlestick Park 1966- other than Let It Be on the rooftop.
How about a restored MMT?
Peter Jackson : Beatle necromancer
The biggest problem I see with this is they can’t wait years between projects because the biggest die-hard fans are getting older and will be dead before a lot of this comes out. The people that would enjoy it the most may not be around
That’s the fun part. It’s called ancestors. I’m in my college years and I’m the biggest Beatles fan ever. Bigger than my grandparents and one of them is actually older than a beetle.
In the 00s Paul McCartney was trying to change the copyright law as it expires after 50 years because the Beatles were still one of the biggest selling bands at that time. I read somewhere they sold more albums/ cds this century than last. Where we live you can’t go out on the weekend without seeing kids and teenagers wearing Beatle shirts
Any studio footage of them playing any of the songs that they never played live. Yes please!!!
We need someone like PJ for Queen
Enjoyed the video
I truly believe it’s a great idea that once it’s the turn of “Help!” And “A Hard Day’s Night” deluxe box sets. They’ll release the movies in 4K with the new remixes! From there, there the star club has to come back as well!
I’m happy we still get the remixes though and I kinda sorta think they Giles would want to remix all of remixed ones with Peter’s MAL technology. Maybe? I don’t know. I just want more Beatles forever lol
There's not that much material left. The post Abbey Road to March 1970 story has been underrepresented in documentaries. More footage of Apple back in 1968 would be interesting. Star Club would be tremendous, but that recording sounds like the tape recorder was in an adjacent building.
I want to see all that Hey Jude footage.
Many thanks for posting.
I would love to have your views on introducing the Beatles through the film "Yellow Submarine" ie, to children and young people. Moreover, songs like "Here Comes The Sun", "My Sweet Lord", "We All Stand Together", "Yellow Submarine" & "Good Night", et al can make a huge difference in the long run. These raw ideas can be the top of the iceberg perhaps. Best wishes
i would love to see alternate camera angles of all the clips they made ...outakes of the clips must also be there -with raw unedited footage - surely...you would think so????
I'm lucky enough to have the original Let it be documentary film of which I've had a good many years.. And The Peter Jackson Get Back film both on Dvd
Make the entirety (or as much as reasonably possibly) of the Get Back footage available as a 10 or 12 episode series. That's all I want.
Fantastic looking forward to this 3:19 3:22
The argument between Paul and George was in January 1969 - the footage you refer to with George in the control booth was in July 1968.
The Hey Jude argument between George and Paul is earlier than the "I'll play whatever you want me to play" disagreement of the Get Back sessions. In fact, during the latter, Paul refers back to the Hey Jude incident.
@@dell-tone6472 OK, I didn't know about an arguement during Hey Jude - I thought the video was referring to the Jan 1869 one.
That's a long time ago mate....
I would be most interested in cleaned up BBC recordings.
But, what makes you think he will make another movie about The Beatles?
He already did "Get Back" and "Let It Be." In a few years the Biopics will be released, so I don't think it is "business" for him to release a film about The Beatles at the same time as the Biopics.
MMT was released on Bluray, so.. which already has sufficient good quality.
There is no film material about Star-Club. There are only the audios (which, by the way, would be interesting to hear restored and in the correct order and speed - although the raw audio gives it its own charm!)
I think something very valuable to have in 4K could be the "Anthology" that is mentioned in the video.
It has been many years since its original release. It deserves a remastering (and why not, with some extrass!). 🤤
Anything will do nicely.
Gear!
Still waiting for the Dambuster remake. I was on holiday in the UK about 18 years ago walking around a dam when a Lancaster bomber flew overhead, later I was told they were taking practice shots for PJs new movie. Still waiting 😢
I would disagree that demixing tech works best when using the original tapes. These tapes might be in a bad state. It's best to try and find the best tape or tape copy and if they cant be found the best digital copy..
thanks to get back i learnt ono is a fern

Haven't the Beatles been lionized enough already? Do a documentary on the Pretty Things.
Nice one, but why call him "Peter" when his surname is Jackson? Do you know him personally?
How did Peter Jackson manage to own the 1962 tapes?
He probably bought them.
He bought them. He was frustrated with the results from second generation recordings. However, he'd need Apple's permission to release them
A Hard Day’s Night in HD color. Then you could have both versions if you like.
Not a color film. I’d enjoy a sharpened B & W version, though! Help! For sure
The use of AI to recreate the Beatles from existing stills does not sound like something I would like to see
Peter No Sheds Jackson
I thought he was two sheds?
@@melissastone5755 No, that was Andrew.
0:47 "...the greatest story ever told." 😂😂😂 Okay.
Ai Beatles would be gross.
I think there is more than enough info already released that it's enough. Stop pandering just for the money. This is now when people that never saw them or wasn't alive when they were a group will start making stuff up and start new conspiracy theories just for the money, If you lived through the complete period of the Beatles like I did and was a fan from the beginning, than your own memories of how you perceived everything that happened is what should be remembered.
Geez, there are other people and things in life other than the Beatles, Peter.
Geez, that comment is completely idiotic as you have no idea as to how he lives his life nor what other interests he has, Steve.
Compared to Get Back, Let It Be was a complete pile of poo. A complete Bore fest which I skipped most of it.
.. I disagree
It was a great restore, but it was anticlimactic after seeing Get Back. Never cared for Let It Be, but adored Get Back as it told the story
