    I used one of those and I found out having someone pour boiling water as you pull seems to help just got to be careful not to get burned.

    Warming up the metal before pulling will help to pull out the dent a little easier. My car was in the warm sun and once hot it worked on the first try.

    I've got a suction cup slide hammer dent puller that is used with compressor air to create suction. Works good. I pulled a similar dent out on a pickup bed the other day.

    As someone already mentioned using hot glue can work well when the rubber on the suction cup breaks up I keep the handle and glue it to the dent and pull.... Have a great weekend man always enjoy watching you!

    I tried a cheap suction cup set to pull a ding off of my Tacoma. I dont have a pogo stick and I didnt dare tap with a hammer. I got some of it out.

    Looks like it has a place in the shop. Probably wouldn’t work with any sharp creases though. 👍

    Hey Lakeside seen in 1 of your previous videos you used bondo professional glazed putty !! Do I have to use the hardener? I see you just squeezed some and put some on truck fender?? Blocked it and primed!

    • @LakesideAutobody
      @LakesideAutobody  Před 2 lety +1

      Uses no hardener, dries super fast and easier than heck to sand. You can glob it on though - just thin little spots. It's all they used back in the old days - Lacquer Spot Putty

    Can the suction cup dent remover be used on roof rails?

    • @LakesideAutobody
      @LakesideAutobody  Před rokem +1

      It might work on anything flat and shiny. If there's nothing for it to cling or create suction to, it ain't gonna work :)

    would the small suction dent puller work for hail dents?

    • @LakesideAutobody
      @LakesideAutobody  Před 2 lety +1

      A ding from hail is pretty tough to pull for a suction cup puller. I don't think it would have the strength.

    Me and my bro have this suction dent repair tool one time since its cheaper but I know metal panels are hard to pull with this stuff and used to pull only on FRP parts like modern bumper covers. The situation is we have to pull a dent located lower quarter panel. Then have this tool placed and ready fir pulling. Im crouching into the ground and I cant pull that much so I ask him my help. We cling both hardest we could but this thing pops and we tripped on our backs landing like 2 collapsed wooden planks. Its embarassing maybe it will need some work.

    • @LakesideAutobody
      @LakesideAutobody  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes - it's been challenging me my whole life but I think I finally learned how to go back and forth on one string consistently and comfortably w/o getting caught on the string, the pick moving around, or weird unwanted sounds. What kind of music or guitar do you play?

    • @LakesideAutobody
      @LakesideAutobody  Před 6 měsíci

      That's actually necessary to bend the metal back into shape. Like straightening a nail - you hit the high area :)

    Don’t understand the hammering?!

    • @LakesideAutobody
      @LakesideAutobody  Před rokem +1

      When you straighten a nail you're pounding on the high spot and pushing up on the low spots. Same concept here :) If that doesn't help ask again 👍

    Why use a hammer?

    • @LakesideAutobody
      @LakesideAutobody  Před 8 měsíci

      The same reason you use a hammer to straighten a nail or a bent piece of metal. You pull on the lows and knock down the high creases. If that don't help ask again :)

    • @LakesideAutobody
      @LakesideAutobody  Před měsícem

      Why exert more strength than you need too. One hand to pound and one to pull. Couldn't pull hard enough so.... pogo stick for leverage. You're probably much stronger than me though so no need for the stick right 😁

  • @chad7789
    @chad7789 Před 11 měsíci +1

    Nope, can't get the stupid thing to create any suction whatsoever

    • @LakesideAutobody
      @LakesideAutobody  Před 11 měsíci

      The panel has to be super smooth and shiny - like new paint. Try it on glass first - if it don't stick to that, there's something wrong with the suction cup :)
