- Ever wonder how well the suction cup dent pullers or removal tools work? This video puts this popular tool to the test. Is it worth a try? Tools and materials listed below:

Another well produced video Jerry. Thanks for taking the time to make it.
You're welcome Bluesman - glad you liked it - have a great week :)
I used one of those and I found out having someone pour boiling water as you pull seems to help just got to be careful not to get burned.
Warming up the metal before pulling will help to pull out the dent a little easier. My car was in the warm sun and once hot it worked on the first try.
Good info Rich thanks :)
Definitely worth keeping for the right application!! Even pick up another one to help with windshields and back windows!!☺
I've got a suction cup slide hammer dent puller that is used with compressor air to create suction. Works good. I pulled a similar dent out on a pickup bed the other day.
That's good to know - might have to look into one. Thanks Steve :)
Excellent improvisacion very helpful.
Thank you
🛠👍😊
Sweet vid. My buddy popped a door dent out on a Ranger back in high school with a toilet plunger!
That's probably how it got invented - have a good weekend Snake Doc :)
Great video
It has its plase in the bodyshop for shore I would defenetly keep one and for the price why not good video I always wanted to see the suction puller been used and now I have thank you for the video Jerry stay safe and have a great weekend
You have a good weekend too my friend - stay safe also :)
As someone already mentioned using hot glue can work well when the rubber on the suction cup breaks up I keep the handle and glue it to the dent and pull.... Have a great weekend man always enjoy watching you!
You too my friend - I've known you for quite a while now :)
I tried a cheap suction cup set to pull a ding off of my Tacoma. I dont have a pogo stick and I didnt dare tap with a hammer. I got some of it out.
Looks like it has a place in the shop. Probably wouldn’t work with any sharp creases though. 👍
You're right - it has to be the perfect dent :)
I used one for a big oilcan dent once, but with thing popping off I came close to hurting myself. So not sure when/if I'll use it again.
That's really what happened with this one - almost fell backwards :)
Very helpful. I hit my sisters mail box and it pull a half foot dent in my door no damaged paint so I think this will work
👍😊
Hey Lakeside seen in 1 of your previous videos you used bondo professional glazed putty !! Do I have to use the hardener? I see you just squeezed some and put some on truck fender?? Blocked it and primed!
Uses no hardener, dries super fast and easier than heck to sand. You can glob it on though - just thin little spots. It's all they used back in the old days - Lacquer Spot Putty
@@LakesideAutobody thank you sir!
@@tonywhite9761 You're welcome :)
Have you tried attaching it to concrete, does it attached? I'm planning to buy this just for hanging something light staff in my wall. Thank you
I don't think it would crate suction on concrete - would just fall right off :(
👍🏻looks like it worked for your situation.
Have you ever tried the glue on dent pullers? I think I seen them at harbor fright.
I might have to look into it. I go to HF quite often so - I'll check it out. Thanks Michael and have a good weekend my friend :)
good job
Thanks Stephan - enjoy the week :)
Can the suction cup dent remover be used on roof rails?
It might work on anything flat and shiny. If there's nothing for it to cling or create suction to, it ain't gonna work :)
would the small suction dent puller work for hail dents?
A ding from hail is pretty tough to pull for a suction cup puller. I don't think it would have the strength.
Me and my bro have this suction dent repair tool one time since its cheaper but I know metal panels are hard to pull with this stuff and used to pull only on FRP parts like modern bumper covers. The situation is we have to pull a dent located lower quarter panel. Then have this tool placed and ready fir pulling. Im crouching into the ground and I cant pull that much so I ask him my help. We cling both hardest we could but this thing pops and we tripped on our backs landing like 2 collapsed wooden planks. Its embarassing maybe it will need some work.
That had to be really funny to watch as long as no one got hurt. It would probably get a million views on YT :)
I have no luck with suction cups !

I've noticed you have a different guitar riff in all your videos, are you a fellow guitarist?
Yes - it's been challenging me my whole life but I think I finally learned how to go back and forth on one string consistently and comfortably w/o getting caught on the string, the pick moving around, or weird unwanted sounds. What kind of music or guitar do you play?
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
So, it works* but it works better if you have additional, more expensive tools to go with it (i.e. Pogo Stick). lol
Good point. I think it would do better with some flimsier metal though :)
How To beat the hell out of your truck!
That's actually necessary to bend the metal back into shape. Like straightening a nail - you hit the high area :)
Don’t understand the hammering?!
When you straighten a nail you're pounding on the high spot and pushing up on the low spots. Same concept here :) If that doesn't help ask again 👍
why is he playing drummer
Why use a hammer?
The same reason you use a hammer to straighten a nail or a bent piece of metal. You pull on the lows and knock down the high creases. If that don't help ask again :)
I cant belive it worked...
No match for the Chevy metal, best one was that chick who used her personal device, thinner metal
You're right - it was no match for that Chevy truck bed side :)
Cool but now you have to polish the whole freekin truck....
Well that side is getting painted soon so....
Get a big hummer and wack it!!!!!!!
👍🛠
Are you serious right now.....???? It's not THIS DRAMATIC .... a pogo stick 😂😂😂😂
Why exert more strength than you need too. One hand to pound and one to pull. Couldn't pull hard enough so.... pogo stick for leverage. You're probably much stronger than me though so no need for the stick right 😁
Nope, can't get the stupid thing to create any suction whatsoever
The panel has to be super smooth and shiny - like new paint. Try it on glass first - if it don't stick to that, there's something wrong with the suction cup :)
Same 💯
Great video
Thanks - Happy 🦃
