thank you .that was helpful.your voice is beautiful and relaxing btw😊
Thanks for sharing the video. Would you recommend this method for an arthritic pip joint also that sometime swells?
Yes! Can certainly be helpful to calm down individual joints!
Could you make a video speaking about the hand therapy job search, and how to get a job in hand therapy as a new grad (or how you did so when you were a new grad)? I have a fieldwork in that setting and I really want to pursue it, but I've heard it's still so hard to get your foot in the door!
Oooh yes!!!! Absolutely. Thats so exciting you’re thinking about getting into hands!!
I filmed one video about this topic which will be going live on Monday! I think maybe it will need to be a series, the first part was 20 mins! haha. Do you have any specific questions that you have in mind?
@@ForwardTherapy Thank you so much, I can't wait to watch it!! :) I think some of the main questions I have are:
1) What types of things do they ask you in the interview, and how should you prepare for an interview?
2) During the interview, do they ask about specific dx/how you would treat a condition, or to fabricate a splint for them there on the spot? One therapist told me they did that for her and it made me nervous lol!
3) The other question I have is about resumes -- what types of things are hand clinics looking for, especially from a new grad? Should the resume be one page or two pages? General format/layout? I've heard so many different things and it gets confusing! Haha.
Thank you for these questions!! I’m forseeing a series ☺️
Is this method good to help heal or should I wait until finger is healed but still swollen? I have a minor smashed finger. Slight bruising under the nail. More bruising on the flesh side of ring finger.
You have to be very careful in tape applications on this type of injury - I’d get help from a therapist or wait until the finger is healed. Would recommend edema management including ice, elevation, and gentle active movement to help get the swelling down
@@ForwardTherapy thank you for the response. very much appreciated. it’s been 4.5 days since the injury. color has returned to the flesh side of my finger. there is still swelling, stiffness, and numbness. i have been able to curl my finger with pain, even directly after the injury occurred. so I think that’s a good sign. i’m a guitar player. I know the pain will go away eventually. i’m extremely anxious about the swelling. I have been icing and elevating religiously. unfortunately i have to work. so i do keep bumping it :(
How long should you leave it on for?
Tape can generally be left on up to 3-4 days if not bothersome or symptomatic. Always check with your doctor to make sure you can safely use tape!
