For the first time since 1997, the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad used their steam powered rotary snow plow (numbered OY) to clear the tracks between Chama, New Mexico and Cumbres Pass in Colorado.

This was an awesome thing to watch those steamers in action. I'll bet that Dale and Karyn over at the Toyman TV channel will watch this video if they hadn't already. Their segment today had covered the rotary plow and the steam crane that is up in Ogden.

Amateur de traction vapeur , je retrouve avec plaisir le souffle puissant de ces locomotives qui ressemble à une énorme respiration . . .En effet , ces machines de fer et d' acier paraissent vivantes . What an awe-inspiring sight and to think that this was filmed in 2020 and not 1950! Is this rotary currently the only operational steam-powered snow-blower in North America, or have they also got one at the White Pass & Yukon? I know there is also the operational one at the Rhaetian Railway in Switzerland, normally deployed on Bernina Pass.
