  • Our mission with these videos is to bring clarity to the industry. In this video I go over the different products that ESW has available to protect homes. They have the most approved products than any other manufacture for Hurricane Windows and doors. Although not all products are covered in this video, all the options for most residential homes will be covered. Will be making another video with the rest of the products

hi Sergio, great and informative videos. Speaking of unethical contracts, it is indeed a problem in Florida. I dealt with one that didn't finish the job and is now out of business, after 25 years.
I have an ES Sliding door, model EL-400 that allows water in the bottom channels. Debry and lizards also make their way into the home. Is this a design flaw? I live on a lake, and in the summer heavy rain season, the water gets close enough to the door. A hurricane would bring the water in. Is this a door designed to be installed on ground level (my scenario), or better for high-rise buildings? It is something i did not ask the sales rep. I assumed that hurricane windows and door are water tight, like the old door i replaced.

Hello Stanley, I am sorry to hear about your experience, it is a shame that this is the case as working with contractors should be a positive experience as you are making improvements to your most valued asset, your home.
Regarding the EL-400 Sliding Glass Door, the active panel on the sliding glass door has two wheels, that those wheels rest on the bottom track, because of this there would not be a 100% Seal like you would have on a French door, Now the sliding glass door track on the bottom is designed to have water come in that track, but it will not go past that track. On sliding glass doors it will be normal to see water inside the house, but on the track, and that is normal. You will notice that the threshold ( longer metal piece on the inside of the door) is higher than the track, so that water can get up to that point but never flood over into the house. Now regarding bugs and insects, ESWindows has pieces of weather striping that a meant to be placed in the gaps exposed in the sliding glass door, if that was not installed there is a possibility for small things to enter. In conclusion, if the water is in the track, that is normal if it is beyond that, then that is not normal. I hope this helps ! If you'd like more information please give us a call any time

Hi Sergio, we are from Ft. Myers and we purchased a $200K total house window replacement using ESWindows. We have some issues that the contractor & supplier are not addressing. Specifically, we bought the mitered glass windows, model ES-FX3050. The showroom install did not have a noticeable gap at the corner so it appeared seamless. They installed my window with a large gap and filled it with black caulk. Also, the frameless sides have been embedded into stucco/drywall and show spots. I'm not getting any answers from contractor & supplier as they just said their showroom example was incorrect. We cannot accept the large black caulked gap. What is the correct expectation for the seam for corner mitered windows? Can we get someone to inspect?

Hello Robert ! I am sorry to hear of your situation, Unfortunately until now we have not installed the ES-FX3050 Series Ourselves. After taking a look at the product approval for the FX3050, the Minimum/ Maximum Gap Depends on the Height of the product. For example, for frame heights up to 144" the minimum gap is 1/2", for heights above 144" Maximum is 3/4" .. and it just increases from there all the way up to 1' Inch . I hope this helps !
