Really enjoy your reviews! As an American who doesn't really have a large darting scene in my area, your reviews help tremendously. Just bought the blade triple core! Can't wait to try it!
Thanks! Glad to hear they are useful for you :)
Pretty accurate observation, I had a quite similar experience with the B6TC. When I bought and installed it in the beginning of january, the B6TC was one of the most silent boards I´ve had, quite on top with the Bandit Duro and the G3+...but now, after an estimated 90-100 hours of use, the B6TC became audibly "loud"...but still rather pristine looking, the healing abilities of the B6TC are fine. As a summary, I still like Winmau´s new flagship ver much, the thin wiring is something that supports my game, but without Shot!´s known problem of bending wires. I´d still recommend the B6TC if one is willing to put the extra cash on the counter and will buy another one myself in the near future, but there surely are cheaper alternatives out there with a comparable level of overall performance. The B6TC isn´t a total gamechanger, but a reliant and well executed upgrade from their dualcore B5´s .
Some people may prefer the softness maybe? 🙂
Thanks for the 50 hour update! I questioned the carbon part myself too and got the dual core instead. Don’t really like the noise but do like how it closes up.
I think the Dual Core is fine really, there is only minor difference with the Triple Core that I can see anyway :)
What a great review. It’s good to see a long term/revisit review especially for a board that is so expensive. I have to say I’m really happy with my Mission Samurai II and don’t really see the need for a board at this price. Great job though. 🎯👍🏽
Thanks mate! Yeah the Samurai 2 is very decent for the money. Mine looks a bit rough now and has a few spots of inconsistent firmness but for the price cant really complain too much :)
Thanks for the update Darren.
I picked up a Blade 6 TC from Argos in Feb and returned it after a few days as the quality of finish was poor with marks all over it and more than the average paint had made its way on to the spider.
Besides the cosmetic issues the inner and outer bull was full of dead spots where the darts would literally fall out after landing and I counted 10 bounce outs on the bull in one hour!
Returned it and bought a Bulls 5.01 Advantage which in my opinion is a far superior board and have had no issues to date!
I never like getting boards from Argos though, seems very hit and miss but I have had more duff ones than I would like.
Have you been using Harrows points during the full 53 hours? How do you feel they affect the fibers?
The 'tock' sound of a dart hitting a board is one of the pleasant parts of the game. My single core Blade 6 board has been wonderful.
Not solely the darts shown in video, I have used a few different sets and of course a lot that I have done reviews on in the time I have had the board. The sound is probably a subjective thing too, but the B6TC for me does not have as nice a sound as say the Aspar or G3+ but visually it looks a lot better.
Sound is indeed very very important for me as well.Last time i bought a blade5 and for some reason i ordered a second one, always been my favorites. They are both used now,and i'm very hesitant on what to buy.......most likely a Blade6
I have yet to properly test the standard B6 and the Dual Core B6 but I will be :)
Great review mate, I have the mission samurai 2 and I’ve noticed that it’s stating to get a bit louder now, I wonder why manufacturers do not make a softer backed board I think it be easily done with the correct material. Happy darting 👍
Thanks! Not really sure if its the way the sisal is glued, maybe it needs a wood back? Also I think if its something soft and the points still hit it then it may break it up which in turn will mean the sisal will fall away?
Really need this awesome analysis! Thanks Darren : D
No problem :)
I've been really impressed with my B6TC. Had it since launch and it probably has nearly 300 hours on it now. I've had the same issue with it going a bit soft, especially in the trebles, but by this point my B5DC was going in the bin and because of the truly naff board we're forced to use at Superleague (Mission block of wood) I have to use grooved points nowadays, which I didn't on the old DC. The bull is also 100% better than the B5DC, far less bounce outs. Only thing I'm not sure is if it's worth £80...
Its not that the B6TC is bad as such, its just more of a personal thing, I would prefer it to be firmer and less noisy but I know there is also a problem when boards are too hard. It seems there is still no 100% perfect board to suit everyones tastes though and I dont think there ever will be :)
@@DartsReviewChannel true, I'm not fussed by the noise, as its on a solid wall with no neighbours behind it. I have a lot of issues with darts not staying in on the Samurai. Big fan of the G3+, although some of our comp boards have had the spider lift pretty badly, generally around 8's and 16's
@@garypavey1528 I had a Bulls board years ago, forget which one it was now but it was very hard, had a lot of problems with bounce outs and when I eventually got it softer the spider started falling apart, so cant win really lol!
Been looking forward to this one. Brilliant as always.
Thanks Paul! :)
@@DartsReviewChannel still may pick one up as I love the look of it but for the price you want it to be almost perfect.
I know what you mean. It still looks good but would prefer it to be firmer.
Thanks for the update Darren!👍
No problem! :)
Awesome review Darren! My B5 is still sitting in the box waiting for me to finish the new dart room. As for now its round wires and bounce outs. Oh well!
Thanks mate! You should see a big difference from the round wires then :)
@@DartsReviewChannel my scores should definitely improve and I'll break less stems from the darts hitting the floor 🤣
@@9_nein_9 lol 😊
Darren you Topman.
I was just about to fork out for one of these.
Brilliant review
Cheers! Its not that the board is bad, far from it, its just that if you want a firmer board then its not the best for that. If you throw light or use darts say 21g or less then you may have a better experience with it :)
The 1 looked well worn Darren .
LOL oh yes :)
Thanks for the update 👍
👍😊
Thanks Darren interesting update I see those 5s and 1s have taken a pounding 😂🤣 happy darting 🎯
Especially the green bit's 😜👍
Trying to sort a return of my blade 6 due to dead spots, rotated the board one segment to the left and I was having bounce outs of the centre of the bull and top half of the 25. Thought it was due to being a new board. Got a full rotation round months later and the issue is still there. Same with my darts team mate. Recently purchased the Unicorn Eclipse Ultra and haven't owned a better board. It's funny really, Winmau had the better boards pre PDC and Unicorn the best boards post PDC.
I think the Ultra was given a bad deal even before it was seen, people just jump on the bandwagon and follow what others say without properly testing it themselves. I think the main issue is the players were using points that were not giving it a fair chance and on TV the strong lights just highlighted the damage and the holes that were left. I think the holes show more on the Ultra simply because the ink is not as deep on the sisal as the Blades but I thought it improved after use, using sensible points that is lol I think the Blade still heals holes a bit better but I think I enjoyed throwing on the Ultra more overall. Big problem with boards though is there is no real consistency as they are made from natural materials and even the sisal fibres can be affected by the time of year they are cut and how fast or slow they have grown and then there is the conditions the boards are stored in. Over the years I have felt increasingly uncomfortable recommending boards to people for those reasons :)
@@DartsReviewChannel very true, I can see the holes more on the ultra. I just use standard points and I struggle to get them out the ultra which is very good regarding previous complaints! Yeah it's the same with wood, natural product and I'd be uncomfortable too now😂 all you can do is review it and a good job you do! Thanks!
@@LiamBrightman Thanks mate, I have just been playing on my Ultra, for me I think it has just the right level of firmness but I often say boards are a bit like darts too in that for whatever reason we may prefer one over another :)
@@DartsReviewChannel no worries! That's a fair point! Not related but I got a set of the new Winmau Valhalla's and think they wonderful (being a back gripper myself), be interesting to see your thoughts on them hopefully in the near future!
@@LiamBrightman I have them its just I have so many to review I am not sure when I will get to them :)
Nice video! 👍. What is now your favorite, the Winmau Blade 6 or the Target Aspar Board?
Thanks! Well I like how the B6 heals and still think the spider is great but I actually prefer throwing on the Aspar even though it looks very holy. Still like my G3+ and the Ultra is nice to throw on too. I dont think any board is completely the best in all aspects though. G3+ still probably comes closest to being perfect for me overall I think.
@@DartsReviewChannel Ok, thank you 😀👌.
I was gonna ask in another recent video how this board was working for you...well here's the answer! Thanks :)
lol yes there ya go :)
Thanks for the update. I will stick to my Gadiator 3+😉
No problem 👍
Hi Darren. Just wondering if you have any idea if the dual core version of the blade 6 got the upgrade on the red sections that the triple core got once they joined up with the pdc. Or are they still orange looking? Any ideas? I've emailed red dragon too ask as well.
I did a comparison video of them here: czcams.com/video/hE1oJy1eM7s/video.html The newer B6TC is definitely a darker red though, not sure if the others have changed recently though.
@DartsReviewChannel cheers for the reply Darren. Red dragon responded too me and they said the dual core did receive the upgrade as well. So will be ordering off them and not argos 😂. I just fancy a dual core as my triple core is far too soft and I've seen your comparison and from what I remember the dual core was slightly firmer if I'm correct?
@@jaydoyle7380 Thats good to know, seems like they listened to my initial criticism on the first review then :) Yeah the one I had seemed firmer :)
@DartsReviewChannel I'll be ordering a dual core soon, probably in January now so will let u know. Its going straight back if its still orange as they've told me it's deep red like the triple core just earlier in an email 😆
Hello , Darren just received it blade6 x3 pdc , ong so bad , sisal recovery 0 , lot of damage in round black part and mores trouble better my aspard target 50 euro
Good update Darren 👍
Any idea when you will be doing a update on the Unicorn boards?
Thanks, the Ultra may be a while off yet, as think I have only done about 15 or so hours on that.
Ok cheers 👍
Hi :-). Any idea why on the winmau boards the black sections go white after a few months (not completely white but just like a haze) ? It happened on my blade 5 and blade 5 dual core so I got a mission samurai 2 instead and it didn't happen on that. I then went back to winmau around this time last year with the triple core carbon and it happened again and done my head in lol so got myself a one80 gladiator 3+ and after almost 5 months the black sections are still just black with no white. I was wondering if you have any idea why this just seems to happen on winmau boards? Many thanks.
I am not totally sure so just guessing here, but it could be the black ink wearing off making it look lighter?
Something weird here Darren l throw right at the front like you love my predators and the best board as go to be the G3 + love it Cheers.
😊👍
Thanks for the informative review, Darren! I happen to be currently in the market for a new dartboard. Could you please make a recommendation?
Cheers! A lot depends on what you like, there is still not enough consistency with boards but there is things about all boards that one person may prefer and another may dislike, so all I can tell you is the board I like the best which for me is still the Gladiator 3+.
@@DartsReviewChannel Thanks much 😊 I used to love the Winmau Blade boards. I've been disappointed since generation 4. As they've gotten more expensive, the durability has declined. Time for a new choice.
@@jackwaytz6519 No problem :)
Does it still feel alreet to treble wires bend in
why aye man!
I’ve had my triple core for about 3 weeks and with hindsight I wouldn’t get another. It’s not the board itself it’s the number ring I don’t like. With the numbers being flat you always get a bounce out if you hit a number and if your points are thin they get bent. Now I know most folk won’t be going anywhere near the number ring but if you are practicing for the odd game of killer where you’re going for holes in the 10 or such this board is a definite no no. I’ve already sourced a replacement number ring that is standard wire.
Looks like my blade 4 👍🏼
Have you tried the shot bandit board?
I have had one in the past
@@DartsReviewChannel I saw the shot bandit plus review but looks way different than the shot bandit I use
@@theisaac3036 yeah it was an older version I had
I just started using my Viper Razorback board. It’s so soft!! Points go all the way into the board. Board seems to heal ok but I’m just not sure of the durability of a soft board. To me that’s the real question as it’s all about durability.
I going to order the Nodor Supamatch 3. It’s supposed to be the same manufacturing facility as the blade5 boards. Same board just a different label. I’m a big fan of blade5.
After all these years of trying different boards I think deciding what is the most durable is a bit of a lottery, just too many factors involved and it seems the more I hear from people the more there is no consistency in it. You can get a model of a board thats great and lasts well and then buy another one only to find its rubbish.
Hi, thanks for Review and i have one question - is this board louder than ASPAR ??
Not for me its not, my Aspar is a lot quieter.
@@DartsReviewChannel iam using now Blade 5, and next Board will be Aspar, thanks for fast answer :)
Nice one 👍
Shot Bandit rules!!! 😎
Don't be so stupid
No wonder the PDC banned aggressive points.
Why is there no review of shot bandit duro?
because I dont have one
I thought the treble one would be in tatters, Darren!🤣
LOL :)
Cheers for the review Darren I'll give this one a miss 👍
No problem. It really depends on the individual to some extent. You may not throw that hard or use very light darts, if that is the case then it may be fine for you :)
Thumbs up
Big question… this blade 6 tc or the Target Aspar?
Its what you like that counts as much as anything, I prefer throwing at the Aspar but it looks a bit ugly with all the holes that dont heal up, its not so bad from the oche but as you start getting closer it looks like it has a bad does of woodworm. But its firm so for me sounds more pleasant to throw at.
@@DartsReviewChannel interesting. Thanks for the thoughtful and knowledgeable response. Would you recommend another board that’s quiet as well as durable?
@@ryanolsen13 Gladiator 3+ is a great board.
Mine is soft and the bull is almost destroyed on my Blade 6 TC. So far I'm not impressed.
I dont play on the bull that much but its pretty soft overall once its broken though it gets even softer.
Not impressed with B6 dual core . Harrows Matchplay beat B6 Dc easy .
I've not tried the B6 Dual Core yet.
@@DartsReviewChannel tryed , still using but b5 is better .
I got mine for Christmas and I play every day, mine is playing very similar to my old blade 5 DC, still getting a few strange bounce outs around and in the bull but, apart from that I’m happy with how it plays, sounds and recovers, sorry to hear yours is letting you down Tomislav
pretery normal couse its tournament offical board not made for play home or pubs hours and hours. My openion much better so far same category unicorn or other brands boards.
There was a time where boards were only used in pubs, so if they are just meant for TV comps then they should not be on the retail market. But of course they are not going to last for ever and there is so many factors that determine how they wear.
Check Harrows Matchplay board . Its better .
You cannot possibly review a board that needs regular rotating without rotating it, then be critical that the area you’ve pounded has become too soft compared to the rest of the board. What did you expect? Sorry but this review is pointless and tells us nothing. Get a new board, rotate it weekly or fortnightly at very least then review it once it’s rotated all the way round at least once. That might prove useful.
Well I can and I did, this was an update on my initial review and my not rotating it was to compare to the kind of time that most people would play on the board in a normal time frame. That will differ from person to person, some only rotate once a week, some may be 2 or more weeks and some will rotate after every session. I figured 3 hours a day with a once a week rotation would be a good average so thats 21 hours and I think most would expect to get at least 2 complete rotations (or more) so thats 42 hours and I added a bit more for good measure. Perhaps its not as exact as taking the time to do it in a normal way but regardless of time taken you are still going to throw the same amount of darts in that time period no matter what and the vast amount of them will be at whatever the 20 segment is. If I was to take the time in a usual way it would probably be 18 month before I got a review done on it, what good would that be to anyone then? Also I am not the only one to say its soft, many do and many have proven what I have shown that it gets even softer with use to a point that is not so good for some. I have proved it in my B6 Comparison video too and it is softer than other boards that I have done similar tests on.
he didnt rotate the board on purpose to show how well the board stands up against use over time. I found this review great because im just getting into darts seriously and i bought this board. at least now i know that i should be rotating it roughly every 2-3 weeks to avoid this. i now know as well that once i get better i will start rotating it more often. }
instead of leaving a comment and acting like a total knob head, try just not watching the video and move on once you realized it wasnt a video for you.
@@bailz6314 not acting like a knob head at all (unlike you). He slated the board saying it doesn’t last, having failed to rotate it. That’s plain stupid as you’re meant to rotate boards regularly. So my comment remains completely valid.
Perhaps instead of slagging people off and calling them names, maybe just keep your nasty wee thoughts to yourself and ignore my comment if you didn’t like it?
Not sure if you're stupid, ignorant, or have low reading comprehension, but he mentioned at the start of the video that it is not rotated.
Not sure why you're here to be stupid when there are other videos that are rotating their board.
I guess it's embrassing for you, your ancestors, and your mom to just start yapping nonsense in the comments section rather than just watching and understanding the said video
