I smile when I see “best female metal band” in comments. Other than the fact I’m male and they’re beautiful women, honestly, their gender was utterly irrelevant when I very first saw them. It was just “f**k me, what musicians! 50 years of listening to Heavy music, beginning with early Queen, through Purple, Rainbow, Queensryche, Nightwish (early years). Then it stopped, because there was nothing. Nothing for about 15 years. Then Lovebites came to my attention and…besotted. I own the catalogue, managed to get some signed stuff, follow them on social media, the works. Apart from the odd reaction to older stuff, they are all I listen to, and it has been for almost two years. Everything else just sounds, well, not as good. So they’re not the best “female” anything. They’re the best band. Ever. Seriously.
That’s what stands out to me. They are a power house of musicians. Just crazy good.
You completely missed out on SYMPHONY X. That would have filled the gap.
@@TheCyberMantis There are several Symphony X songs I like. I bought some of them on iTunes. Never bought an album of theirs though. Lovebites was the first band whose albums I bought since maybe Manowar or the recent Iron Maiden releases.
@@ChadTheDragonLord That's cool. Glad you are checking them out. I recommend the "V" album. It is a musical journey from start to finish. Believe it or not, I don't like all Symphony X songs. There are several songs I don't care for. But if you look at everything they have done over the last 25+ years, it's extremely impressive. Lovebites is already on-track to top them. In some ways, they already have.
Definitely best metal band today.

Lovebites love to play live and they make something epic every time. MV's sometimes not attached to the songs meaning or vibes(i think). Anyway Lovebites is just the best metal band for sure. All members are superb master musicians.👍👍🤘🤘
If I told you the Lovebites leveled up you'd think I'm crazy because how could they get any better They leveled up on all fronts. Asami's voice - better. Midori - fast and tight as ever. Haruna - incredible cymbal and fill work. Miyako - worked on her speed during hiatus and it showed. Fami - incredible bass lines, a perfect fit for this band. And you're not the only one who mentioned wanting more bass - I hear plenty of bass throughout this song.
I’ve always felt that Haruna was one of the most creative drummers in using her cymbals but she has leveled up. Some of that will be having Fami, with her different style of playing, and them locking up in sections.
I’m also curious about what will happen when they play their pre-Fami songs on concert. Will Fami stay true to Miho’s bass lines or will she add her style of playing and if so, how much? Can’t wait to find out.

On 17 August 2021, LOVEBITES took an extended break after their leader, bassist Miho, left the group.
The remaining girls organised an audition for a new bassist from the public from all over the world and recruited a new bassist named Fami.
"JUDGEMENT DAY" is the first song from the long rest.
The song is also a JUDGEMENT DAY for the fully revived LOVEBITES and the legitimacy of Fami's adoption by the new bassists.
You will be amazed by new bassist Fami's slapping and fast finger picking. If you watch "Alien Alien" on her CZcams channel, which was uploaded 4 years ago with 10,420,000 listens on her content, you will be amazed at her world-class slapping skills.
With the addition of new bassist Fami, the trio's harmony shredding may become a reality.
Fami is a five-string bassist who can dance, sing, and play, and boasts 667,000 CZcams subscribers.
Fami is 20 years old with a cute smile.
Fami had his signature headless bass WOODLINE5AC-HL Fami from the Bacchus Handmade Series when he was 19 years old.
The new oil finish coloring, custom-made pickguard, and inlays that embody her image were created at Fami's request. Ash body & custom color "Bordeaux Purple Oil"
And Fami ordered a 4-string custom made bass.
It is made by Freedom, a Tokyo-based workshop specializing in custom guitars.
It will be delivered in the summer of 2023.

Enjoyed the reaction. I tried a Steinberger when they first came out back in the '80s. I agree with you, I wasn't a fan. But some people really dig them and that's cool. Fami is endorsed by Bacchus. The headless one is her signature model. If I remember correctly, "Don't Bite the Dust" would be their first music video. It's either that one or "Rising". In any case, both are very early ones before Midori went blonde.
To answer your question about headless guitars and basses, they never visually appealed to me until I saw Shiren from Unlucky Morpheus playing one of his Strandberg guitars due to his medical condition. Something about Strandbergs just look cool. The same goes for Fami's Bacchus signature bass here. It's a beautiful instrument. That said, I've never played a headless bass or guitar, so it's not something I would buy sight unseen like how my wife bought my Zemaitis MFG24 for me. Doesn't matter how good an instrument looks if I don't like the feel.

One thing to note is that there are two videos for "Winds of Transylvania," the original version where it's just the ladies playing and Asami is a vampire and the VLAD LOVE version where it's the same video only it has inserts from an anime called, well, VLAD LOVE. The original version was only released on the A version of the "Glory, Glory to the World" EP and later on the "In the Beginning" compilation. It's cool to watch, but if you see one version, you've pretty much seen both versions.

I like your idea of going back to see where they were - compared to where they ARE now. Those 2017 MV's show the Epic Talent was pretty much there - although they have matured from a Really Good young Metal Band to what I truly think will be a Legendary Band sometime in the future. The Talent, in composition, Technical proficiency, Vocal excellence, Stage Presence (with Theatrical touches) is just off the charts. And their ability to pull it off Live is breathtaking.
If you want to try something new, there’s a band called Asterism… a three-piece band from Japan with an incredible guitar playing that I think you would enjoy… I recommend a song called dawn

Headless Guitars inc (B) gets around copyright/trade mark plus a lot tuning gripes ..... but they are so f..king ugly. So do the big Dean V's and Expl's et'al .. but they do sound awesome 😁
I have a headless bass as I find the action at the nut end is lower and easier to set up than a normal bass.
Interesting. I’ve never had a problem with action on the lower end. But then again I have big hands. I have yet to play a headless bass. I might have to track one down and give it a go.
@@ThunderRooster I have small hands/short arms and I play guitar as well and we swap instruments all the time in my band (I get bored easy and sing as well) and I find the length easier to manage for me but my friend has a Fender Precision and hates my Hohner B2.

In terms of musicianship, Lovebites is one of the most talented bands on the planet.

Putting the power back in Power Metal!...I'm with you, I'm not into headless guitars and basses. I've played a few and while they played great, I couldn't get past the aesthetic.
They look weird to me too. But if everyone starts using them they won't look so weird after a while.
I think Lovebites'es live videos are truly live. I have not heard any layering. What I think is wrong is some video clips. They sometimes feels like being taken at another time in the performance. Maybe you can. But, other than possible some gimmicks, I think it is as live as it can get.
Yes you can actually. I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary on their live songs.
They do use tracks in live songs, but everything that they play, they play for real
The tapping was done in unison each time but the video showed each lady separately. When Miho tapped, both guitars were heard as well.
@@guitarzen5999 - that I think is the correct answer. It was in unison. Miho probably tapped one octave (or two) lower.
@@ThunderRooster - it is very common when making live videos to show short sequences here and there, maybe showing the audience or something fun happening. If this thing is not related to the actual music, it might be taken from another time in the concert. There is one thing in Holy War that looks strange. Somewhere there is a sequence where all three string players do a kind of "dance step", one after each other. Maybe that was a part of the performance and was actually done in the performance like that. Perfectly possible, the Lovebite shows are very strongly choreographed. Or, it was a creative clip in post production.

I've ALWAYS hated the look of headless guitars, TBH. And I also think the Headstock on Miyako's Dean V is way too damn big. In both cases it ruins the otherwise lovely lines on the bass and guitar both. Glad I'm not the only one who dislikes the look of headless instruments. Leave the headless stuff for Sleepy Hollow, ya know?
Dont know what it is, I really dislike headless guitars, but somehow basses look cool af.
@@nanoscorner6976 idk , but i think this headless bass fits well for Fami, because based on her cover project on her channel. she did on i believe that on her bedroom, which has small space, and moves actively, jumping, dancing, etc, so the shorter bass length (headless) will fit for her action.
This is exeption here is playing Fami for me doesn't matter look of the guitar. She will squeez all juice from each one she would be play with.🐺🤘🎸
