- In this video I give detailed instructions on how to paint those floating bits of foam that you see in the shore wash at the beach.
You only need four colours for this exercise, white blue yellow and red.
The paints I use are Atelier artist quality acrylic paints because they are by far the best I've tried. (they don't pay me to say that). The colours used in this demo are:
- Titanium White
- Cobalt blue
- Cadmium Yellow Light
- Napthol Crimson

Haha, sorry I couldn't be there sooner for you. If you get stuck on anything else let me know and I will see what I can do.
Awesome video! Love your narration explaining where the shadows need to be and why. I have been trying to finish a beach painting and have been really struggling with the foam on the beach. Will be using your method and hopefully I'll be able to do it right. Thank you once again. Subscribed ready 😊
very helpful
I loved your video. Super informative and easy to follow.
This is soo cool!! And very helpful. Thanks!
😳 you helped me so much with your tips. Discussion of how it changes lighter and how to create depth and where to put the shadows, changing the different colors to ensure the bottom works with it. Wow please do more of these. Can’t wait to watch all your videos!!!
I am really glad to hear that my video has helped you Kimberly. I will definitely be working on creating more videos as soon as I can.
Thanks for explaining the color mixes for the shadows. That really helps!!

Very helpful indeed!
I am very glad you think so ☺️
Great tips for shadows. This is exactly what my painting was missing..
I'm really glad I could help, Irene.
This helped me so much !
Glad to hear it Kathleen, thanks for letting me know
Great
This is beautiful :) I'm trying to figure out how to do a really good shore line and waves painting but I'm clearly not talented enough. But this video was great and super helpful! Thanks!
I'm glad you found my video helpful Jade. I am sure if you are struggling with seascapes it is not because of a lack of talent. It takes practice so keep at it. Finding someone who can explain things in a way that makes sense for you can shorten the learning process too.
@@BlueBeachHouseArt yes, I'm sure you're right on finding good help for learning :) and I appreciated very much how you explained :) thank you!!
Beautiful
Thanks again Dominic
PARABÉNS e me escrevi.
Very nice thanks
You are very welcome Sadia.
You ocean wave helped so much, I am struggling with perspective
Glad to hear it Dana
The other video you made The lines & shapes are horizontal to the shore In this tutorial they are horizontal to the canvas
Is that the difference between Sea Foam & Shore Wash?
You are SO talented
Your water looks so real.
Thank you for sharing your talents
Thank you for the lovely compliment. They are both shore wash or sea foam. I created the zoomed-in video where the shapes are more horizontal because a lot of my students were struggling with this part of the seascape painting. The idea was to try and show the process in more detail.
That's supposed to be seafoam?
