    Great video, I noticed on your wife’s ar the shells are flying back when ejected, on my I mine I went with a lighter buffer and actually got the shells to eject exactly 90° from the gun, which is the best blow off from the gas to light of a buffer the shells are being directed towards the front of the gun, too heavy, the shells will be ejected to the back I usually take a few different buffer weights to the range and really tune it. Something to read up on. Also recently brought one of those shell catchers from Amazon for like 15 bucks so I don’t have to pick up the shells from the ground.

    Great video... I don't have all the expensive items you have but start out slow. I'm a new reloading junkie... Last night I did my first batch of 50 wet tumble 223. They came out very nice and clean. Since I don't have dryer I use the tumbler again but this time put some small hand towels in side. Tumble them for about 15 mins and they came out dry. Down the road I will buy something like yours. To bad your not my neighbor so I could walk over and learn from you. That's what I need a mentor to make sure I'm doing correct. I just bought from x-treme bullets 223-55gr. FMJ CCI 451 primers. I'm just trying to figure out a powder. Look forward on following you to see your progress and get some tips.

      Thanks for the nice comment. I kinda started off with some nicer equipment. I have a few friends that reload and the all said save your Pennie’s and buy stuff that you’re not gonna sell in 6 months. I think it’s helped my learning curve quite a bit. I watched several guys on here and it is big help. Good luck and keep reloading my friend!!!

      @@vmdoyle1229 Well after watching your video a couple of times. I saved some more money and order the Frankford Arsenal Platinum Series case prep. Hopefully that will help me a lot...

      @@markdoyle3071 Thank you very much I look forward on learning a lot. I do have a question and maybe I might of made the same mistake you did with the shoulder. Did you figure out by measuring it or like you mention you seen the lip on it? Do you have a picture of what it looks like? I'm more of a visual person. Keep up the great videos. you should do more 223 videos on loads.

    I’m wondering if this is more of a hobby or if its for the price saving. After all this work what would you say the cost per round is? The current cheapest prices I’m seeing on the market $.45-$.50 a round.

      @markdoyle3071 Před rokem

      It’s def more of a hobby than saving much money. I can also build better ammo in most cases than I can buy it. If you shoot one caliber a ton then yes over time it can save you money.

    Im new to reloading and have only done 200 to 300 rounds so far. I have seen people use a crimp and others not use a crimp. What is the advantage or disadvantage to crimping?

    • @markdoyle3071
      @markdoyle3071 Před rokem

      In a semi auto the crimp keeps the bullet seated without moving. In a bolt action it’s not really needed.

    how well does the Franklin Arsenol powder measure work ?
    I'vs been looking at 4 different electronic measures vs. costs vs. performance

      So far it’s been great. About 2yrs use in it. With my long range rifle stuff I’m getting single digit SD and ES so it’s good enough for me.

      @@markdoyle3071 I currently use the Hornady drop powder station and generally it's + - .002 but sometimes strays to .003 so that's why I'm looking to an electronic one thats + - .001 Now it's cost vs. performance.
