It took me way too long to figure out Vivian is the mom from After.
Cannot suggest watching the musical on youtube enough!!! I adore the movie but I think the musical hits some points where the movie didn't, most likely due to time constraints. Like Vivian doesn't go off at Elle when the gross scene with Callahan happens and Warner, while still an ass, is more understandable in some ways? And the Emmett storyline is more fleshed out. But yes - HIGHLY recommend!! Plus the songs are banging even if certain things are still iffy, which you guys brought up in this reaction anyway (Gay or European, I'm looking at you)

To be fair, people underestimated her because she never gave them any reason to think otherwise, she even got into college for the sole reason of getting back with the guy, so it's kinda hypocritical of her to be offended that everyone just treats her like a bimbo.
but I think getting into harvard itself may have given her another purpose and confidence other than just getting back with Warner.She might have dreamt about her and Warner being a lawyer power couple. Also she comes from a sorority where people do not judge her for being this or that, rather than in Harvard, where people look at her and starts treating them like a bimbo, just because she is from a sorority, is blonde and has a big chest, and dresses more stylishly(coz fashion designing degree perks) and her being from California does not help. Remember when Vivian laughs at her because she was dressed inappropriately for the party (due to Vivian lying to her about a costume party), she still said you get treated more nicely at her sorority party even if she f*cks up her appearance if she wasn't such a frigid b*tch. And also Elle yet had to realise that in order to be worthy to Warner, she doesn't need to be a blonder Jackie. She's Marilyn, she should embrace that about herself and stop changing fundamentally(your core values) for people to like her. People will appreciate your innately.
