I realized while watching this video that Iâve had a Bitossi cat for a few years and didnât even know it đ€Šđ»ââïžđ€Šđ»ââïžđ€Šđ»ââïž I paid $5 at the Goodwill near my home. I buy what catches my eye, for myself. I donât resell.
My cat is different than Lauraâs, more the style of the dog she found â„ïžđđ
Oh yes I know the cat! Itâs a long low one đ»
So cool!â€đč
Me too. It's nautical theme and black cats
It is so awesome to see my hometown threw someone else's eyes! I am glad you guys had such a great time! Printers Alley is very old and has a long history! I have a framed love letter from my Gramps to my Grandmother on their anniversary from early 1970 from Printer's Alley stationery! My Gramps worked for the the Nashville Banner Newspaper where the Printers Alley worked from! He wrote to her how many seconds, minutes, hours, days, months and years they have been together. How much he loved her and more! I cherish this letter so much! Loved this video! âșâ€
I never feel guilty for getting a good deal. I've given enough killer deals myself, so I don't mind good karma. That hook on the bassinet is to hang mosquito netting.
Oh that makes so much sense⊠the misquote netting! Haha and yes good thrifting Karma is real đ
So true...I've made plenty of mistakes, scores and amazing finds, that you "just have a good feeling about"...thats the highs and lows of thrifting! đ
Many banana pudding makers here in the south use vanilla wafers as a crust then fill with warm pudding and top with meringue and bake to brown the meringue thus making the vanilla wafers fall apart
The wood and metal candelabra was sold by Home Interiors in the 1980's at home parties. I was a consultant for awhile. It could be stagged with various glass votive cups. They carried 10-12 different types of votive cups. They also carried silk (fake) flower candle rings and swags (candle ring with 2 points ). I would hang a swag on each side on the metal hooks for a dramatic look. At Christmas I would display it with a white swag that had red accents. Then I would add red tapers or tall clear 8 inch votive cups, add water and red floating candles. They also carried matching wall sconces. They were fun to decorate with. Nice basic pieces.
Thank you Laura for showing us Nashville. I cannot believe how many antique stores they have
We ran out of time! We had a few more on our list. Guess weâll have to go back đ
It's always been known for antiques, particularly in Franklin...in the 50's.
I live in Nashville and enjoyed this travelogue very much. Thanks for visiting!
Congrats on finding your treasured bitossi dog at an incredible price!!!
I saw those online and I wasnât sure they were actual Bitossi because they werenât Rimini blue!
Have you ever been to the Clinch River Antiques Festival? It is held twice a year in Clinton Tennessee. A large part of the downtown area is devoted to antique stores that are open year round. During the festival, antique dealers for around the country set up booths and sell their wares. There is a spring festival and a fall festival The spring festival starts on the first Saturday in May and the fall festival statrs on the first Saturday in October. The festival is divided equally between antiques dealers and artisans. There are over 100 antiques dealers who set up at the festival. You really should think about coming to visit our area.
Such a great video! Loved it! By the way, I found a Bitossi bird at an estate sale for $12.50. I was so excited!!
Agree completely with your assessment of Antique Architects. I took a day trip there from Indiana. Everything I saw I remember from the show. Loved that show.
I am addicted to your show!
I just love how you have a bucket list of things you want to find in the wild and you wait until you come across them! I find that waiting is too difficult and I usually settle for something similar! These days I watch you and others rather than searching myself.
You can easily get those green glass diamond glass candle cup converters that go in that candelabra. They were made by HOMCO. They also come in many colors. They can be nice if you do not want to use a taper candle.
At 6:28 âŠthe Gunne sax dress with the brown velvet frontâŠ.I had that dressâŠI wore that dress in the seventies. Oh what memories. I had a few Gunne sax dresses. Sure wish I had kept them.
They were my favorite dresses. Wished I had saved them.
My Mom sold Gunne Sax clothing in 70's the owner designer sold us her clothing at market in Dallas. Jessica McClintock and her son Scott. She was absolutely gorgeous and nice. Her fragrance is still a best seller.
Now you're in my neck of the woods. If your woodpeckers are pecking into the wood on your house, they're more than likely after carpenter bees. The look like Bumble Bees, but they're not the same. We were told to get rid of carpenter bees, hang owls statues around where you see them and they will leave, which in turn, will make the woodpeckers go somewhere else for food. Just FYI.
Ah, good to know! My brother is battling carpenter bees where he lives in Alabama.
That is good to know. I had a terrible issue with carpenter bees where I lived before.
Yes carpenter bees drill holes in unfinished/untreated wood. The woodpeckers are after the larvae /nest
Male woodpeckers are also known to peck on the metal chimneys & gutters to make loud noises to attract female woodpeckers during mating season. Had a very active one in Banks Or. every spring for a few years.
I love watching you. You are so informative, I learn so much from you. Keep up the good work Laura and Jesse.
Congratulations on your Bitossi score - I feel your excitement!
Score on the dog! YAY!
The cradle pole isn't for a mobile originally, it was for netting.
Laura's videos bring such a joy and peace to my hectic mind đ what an amazing host
I had no idea Nashville is such a beautiful and interesting, wish I could visit it one day đ€©
My mom used to make original banana pudding with a meringue topping, anyway, the nuggets are made with vanilla wafers ( Nabisco cookies ).
The turquoise jewellery was absolutely stunning! I wouldnât know what to buy first. Mind you, it depends on the prices! Lol!
Yeah⊠that is how to make it⊠these others- nah..not even Hattie âs
Your videos never disappoint!
đ
Those large candelabras were once used as the decor for a church wedding.
My daughters family visited their LeClaire store in Iowa and found that it was hard to buy small items they did find a gift for my husband that is a huge fan of the show it was a automobile book that had a article about his first car that he still owns
LAURA THANKS FOR SHARING NASHVILLE IS SO PRETTY FULL OF EVERYTHING THE ANTIQUE STORES AND THAT BANANA đź PUDDINGđ„°đŠđŠđŠđ»đ»đ»đ
For being there for 2 days you sure packed in a ton of fun! Thanks for taking me alongđđšđŠ
I love your channel even though I am a minimalist.
I canât unsee that Kiss band velvet painting. Wow.
Thank you for answering our question about Antique Archeology...we went to the LeClaire store and found exactly the same thing. We were sure all the smalls were in Nashville! Although it was interesting and fun to see familiar things we had see on TV we were also hoping for something vintage or antique to carry home. The pickings were very slim. Thanks for sharing! You are as alway a wonderful curatorâ€
Love Nashville! Great finds! Great food, great fun!đ Nashville hot chicken is the bomb!!â€ïžđ
Laura, you guys need to go to Western, Ky, south of Paducah, there are lots of cool old things around here.
The baby basinet: The hook is where you hand the fabric covering that covers the baby and keep the flys etc. from getting on the baby.
Love all your adventures! Thanks for sharing đ
Glad you enjoyed Nashville which is only a 100 miles from me! Love watching your videos.
Love the Nashville Tennessee trip
I went every year to antique shows
I had to give it up TO MUCH WALKING
I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT IN THE LIGHTHOUSE I THINK THAT WAS THE NAME THE SECOND LIGHTHOUSE
THAT BIRD AND THE LION BRASS BOX FOR $70
LOVE BOTH OF THOSE
ONE OF YOUR BEST VIDEOS
LOVE YOUR DOG
THAT SHOW IS WHAT I COLLECT
Back in the early seventies we stayed in Nashville on my 16th birthday. We went to an alley full of bars and the singer later was on Hee Haw! Fun!
What a great trip! That vintage clothing and jewelry market was amazing. Nashville antique week is now on my bucket list!
Absolutely worth a trip! The vintage clothing was unbelievable! I could have gone broke there if I let myself đ
Oh, yes yes- I felt the same way when I visited their store! I could only afford souvenir items and I didn't want that! So I left with nothing.
I really enjoy watching your videos because you do a great job of including such a variety of things you see, places you go, food you eat. It makes the videos very interesting. Thank you for sharing and letting me see Nashvillle.
So happy you enjoy them! Thank you for watching and hanging out with us on our adventures! â€ïž
I went to the second location of Gaslight Antiques when I was In Nashville. It was amazing and the employees were so nice. Not the best prices, but I found some things I hadnât been able to find anywhere else. đ„°
Thatâs the best! Nice employees make a shopping experience so much better đ we had a blast âwindowâ shopping even though we didnât get anything there.
I never thought of Nashville in the context of antiques and collectibles so thank you for sharing this! I also love tramp art but it's become so expensive.
Okay, wait! So youâve created a life where you thrift and decorate and travel and work said Travel off because itâs your âjob!?!â I love you.
A few of the motorcycles from the picker show was found and bought here in my hometown of Maggie valley NC,the pickers were here for a week picking for their show
Waiting in the truck for an estate sale to start and spending it with Laura in Nashville. The day is off to a great start.
đâ€ïž
I raised my kids 3 miles east of Yamhill. So fun to see a jacket there. My youngest son's 2nd best friend is Jon Stone...he's 1/2 of American Young. Can't wait to get home for Burgerville runs.
Another enjoyable video from one of my fave CZcams personalities! Great overview of Nashville, skyline and all! Viewing the highlights through your lens is so much fun! Thanks for sharing your adventures in such a personal way; safe travel as you move on!
Thank you for joining us! â€ïž
Superb Bitossi find.
My sweet and loving mom passed in June 2022 suddenly. My dad passed me her Bitossi ceramic box and the bird trinket box.
She had good taste.
She would have joined me on my vintage journey. I miss her.
I'll be in Tennessee this summer, thank you for the shop listings girl â€
Sending lots of love to you Charlene!! â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž What special heirloom pieces to remember her by â€ïž
My niece was married at Union Station in the lobby are, in front of the fireplace. The reception was set up in the lobby with beautiful tables. The bar was set up for dancing & she had one room just set up for her sweet potato bar đ. It was amazing.
I wish you had gone a little farther into Kentucky, we have a booth in a little town called Gilbertsville, Ky Twin Lakes Antique Mall. Also, a lot of fun places.
Linda, I was coming back home to Nashville from St. Louis , and tried to go to Twin Lakes Mall. I got off the exit on 24E where sign said it was off that exit, and my Waze weirded out. In either direction I drove, so couldn't find it. I want to go there, so could you please tell me directions if I am coming 24W from Nashville? Exit number? left , right? Easy to find? GPS refuses to take me there!
@@karenhollywood3523 it is hard to find, from 24 you will take exit 31, you will see Pattiâs Inn & Suites to your right. Turn Left that should take you down to the mall.
Iâm originally from Dawson Springs, Ky. Twin lakes is about an hour west. and Iâve been there a few times. Great Mall!! George the Antique Nomad has a booth there.
Nice! I'll check your booth out sometime.
@@karenhollywood3523 Karen I told you half wrong, turn left go about 1 mile maybe, exit to the first rd to your right, take that rd to the right, cross the river ( Ky Dam ). There is a sign you will see (small) Twin Lakes Antique mall) take this rd it will make a big curve, it will take you there. It is hard to get too.
oh my god I want to go to Nashville so badly! It looks too fun! That massive midcentury table was gorgeous.
The large candelabras were often used as wedding decorations in the 80s and 90s. I had a large arch and two round in my wedding decor circa 1989
Thank you that was fun I felt like I was there in the antique store window shopping đïž with youđlol đ that was fun I love your videos of antique stores awesome đ thanks đ
I went to Nashville around 8 years ago & stayed for a couple of weeks. I absolutely fell in love with it. I really enjoyed all of the live music available & the food was awesome, too! Seeing your meals in this video made me really hungry for fried chicken! Iâm happy you found your Bitossi dog! Yay! xo
I'd move there in a heartbeat.
I hope the people are ok down there... another chemical spill đ„
@@charlenelynch6505 Yes, I loved it there, too. I am happy where I am, but if I needed to move & could choose anywhere, I would choose Nashville!
I love this! Eventually, once I learn how to do collage a bit better, I will be making collage papers on the gel plate. Iâve already gotten started đ. This is so goodâŠI love your art!
It's such a lovely video đč . Really enjoyed it. You make my day.
With love from SAM
Guwahati, Assam, India đźđł â„ïž
What a fun video!! So many fabulous pieces! Loved the bassinet and the beautiful turquoise and silver big pendant and squash blossom necklace towards the beginning of the video. Thrilled for you about the Bitossi dog!!! Also loved those boots you wanted. One of your greatest finds, though, has to be the guy in the mirror!! Can't wait to see NOLA!!
I was loosing my mind, seeing all of that fabulous turquoise jewelry at the next show đ± that's my quilty pleasure. Nashville is fun city. Need a lot of money. Los Angeles prices.
The wood pc with the green class cups is from Home Interior from back in the 70s
I was raised in Belle Meade...part of Nashville. I used tp go to Franklin with my Grandparents to antique shopping. She spent 56 years collecting her dining room set. They built 2 log homes in the many years they lived there.
Love Belle Meade! Especially, love Sperry's Restaurant. Miss that place so much! Miss Cheekwood Mansion!
@r mcgrath My friend lived in Cheekwood for several years. I played in Belle Meade Mmansion and on its grounds from the time I was a tot. It was privately owned then and furnished much better than it is now.
â@@sallyward3791 we enjoyed fall festivals at Belle Meade Mansion. Love Nashville đ
Spent this past Christmas in Nashville and recognized many of the places you went. Antique Archeology was a bit of a disappointment, but the building itself was amazing! Glad you had a good time. Try Knoxville next time! We went there too and I got some cool Goodwill deals!
I live in Boston Ma⊠we have crazy antiques here †this be in Nashville looks EPIC!
22:02 A castle? Hey, why not restore a chateau in France đ«đ·. Chateau purchasing and restoration in the French countryside is really a popular topic on YT these days. My fave channel for that is The Chateau Diaries with Stephanie Jarvis along with her other channel, Cadeau at the Chateau, where she and her wonderful crew share the huge number of gifts their viewers and supporters send them (and they give the ad revenue from those videos to select charities.) Stephanie, a Brit by birth, is credited with getting a lot of viewers through the pandemic with her sunny persona, fun chateau history, adventure and mishaps and determination to bring back the glory and more to âChateau Le Lande.â I could see you and you hubby doing something like that, Jennifer. Maybe a joint venture? (No, Iâm sure that wouldnât exactly be your thing and then youâd have to leave your beloved OregonâŠnaw, bad idea.)
I live three hours south of Nashville in Tupelo, MSand itâs am so not surprised you walked out if both those antique stores empty handed. There are no deals to find when everyone watches antique shows on cable TV around here. The reason I love your channel ands because your Goodwills have AMAZING prices!!! I suppose since we rarely g t great stuff, when we do get something remotely nice , the price is only half of the sticker on the bottom. There is this KILLER DREAM that I have to one day go to the once a year MILES AND MILES LONG yard sale along a highway either in North AL or GA. My girlfriend always came back with the most killer antiques at the most killer prices. She loved antique cameras and all things vintage. That would be the thing to hit.
Laura I hope you guys Had a good time in Nashville. There is so much to see đ So glad you found some treasure!!!! Girl your in my area I wish I could have see you. Love your channel đ
Well I knew about all the wonderful music in Nashville of course, but was unaware of finding great vintage& antique stores. Thank you for the close ups, enjoyed the video.
I love your travel videos! You give good info & show amazing places đđœ
You have given so many great tips and teaching about pieces through your videos! I have starting âbuying pieces that you love!â just like you said Laura. And itâs incredible how much I find myself smiling at the new treasures we have placed in our home because they are what we love. I am learning so much and appreciate you sharing your knowledge with your viewers. Thank you!
This makes me so happy to hear!! â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
That giant candleabra would work in an outdoor space with a fireplace.? N i would not have been able to walk away from the green blown glass mushroom đ awesome trip!!
That hook on the bassinet is to hang a mosquito net over the bassinet.
The baby bassinet was pretty. My sister had one in her master bedroom and she hung a very delicate pink lace antique table cloth over as to keep the light filtered. Fun shopping!
Wow, the clothing and boots looks amazing! All the pieces looks so cool.
Lol.. that yamhill carlton coat, so cool!! I have family there and it's so crazy that coat was in Nashville, yamhill is so small!! Good share Laura always love your vids!!!
I love that you included some of the tourist and food stops you went to! Always looking for good travel Recs
Hi Laura. I really enjoyed your Nashville trip and vintage shopping. They had some lovely pieces. Can't wait until next week.
Oh! How I love to be able to visit Memphis TN I have family in Nashville, I hope that they have taken advantage of there states treasures.
Good mronng Laura. You're looking great. Thanks for your tour of vintage shopping in Nashville.
Nashville is one of my favorite places to go !
So fun! The Bitossi dachshund is on my bucket list too! Happy for you but a tad jelly too.
What a trip!
My favoriete would be the clothing and jewlery sales.
congratulations with tour new Betosi xxx
Love all the vintage clothing, wow!, thanks!!
Next Nashville visit, try the Franklin Antique Mall! đ
Love that Antique mall. Franklin is great. Very crowded these days. Lived in Nashville in mid 80's and moved California in 1997
@@TheGinamac79 California has just moved to Franklin
Iâve been to most of these places also.. Love Nashville, TN
So happy you found your dog!
Thanks again, Laura! Congrats on the Bitossi cat. Don't know if you watch @lonefox ... he just bought a big old Spanish style home that he's decorating, and that huge black candelabra looks like something he'd buy.
I thought the same thing when I saw that candelabra! It would look amazing in Drewâs home- maybe in his new theater room? Lol
@@LindaKayHolevas - GMTA!
Oh wow!! Youâre in my hometown. Have lived here most of my life. Enjoy NashVegas! Love love to thrift!!
Nashville is so much fun! I visited the hotel you stayed at as it also caught my eye. Gorgeous! I really liked the chicken wings at Martinâs BBQ. I want to go back to visit all the antique markets now!!
Oh my goodness Vintage & Vinyl, The.Withering.Cottage., and Pamela Blanchard all went the Fiddlers too!!! Lots of shopping with the vintage community.
I would have peed my pants if I saw that Bitossi dog. I canât believe it was there all weekend without being picked up! I collect Bitossi too. My mom had a Rimini Blue horse and we had it as long as I can remember. She acquired it as a gift in the 1960s. We always used the colors of that horse to style all of the living rooms of the houses we lived in. I now have that horse and itâs the most cherished piece I have. Well done! Such a great video!
Heyyy girl Nashville is my town. I live in Smithville Tennessee I'm so happy you visit my beautiful Tennessee
Love that arts and crafts center. Fabulous artisan center. Lake is beautiful!

You are on my home turf... i live between Nashville and Knoxville đ
I hope that you had a good time and experienced real southern hospitality
Nashville is a beautiful city.đđđđ
Love that you came to Middle TN LauraâŠwhen you come back next Skullâs Rainbow Room is a great place for dinner and a show and there are many other places to shop that are vintage /mid century laden as well.
Enjoyed this. I woke up this morning to watch this as my son and daughter-in-love are pulling out of their driveway to move to Nashville. Also my husband and I were able to go to the the American Pickers store in Iowa. It was a lot of fun though there is not much around that store to do afterwards. Itâs a very small town. I look forward to visiting some of these places when I go to visit my son. Thank you for sharing.
Iâve been watching your channel only for a short time Iâm learning a lot. Iâm hoping to come to Portland for your vintage market. I live in Sacramento.
Yay!! Itâs going to be such a fun market âșïž I hope you make it! Iâm visiting Sacramento later this spring and would love any tips on good spots đ
Thank You! Bless You!
Wow. I was at the Nashville show on Thursday and had no idea about the Fiddler's Market. đą
Hi Laura loved this episode as we are coming to Nashville in June from the uk so found it really interesting to see some of the scenery looking forward to your next one in New Orleans looking for some tips as where to go xxx
So excited for you on your pitossi find!
Excellent video Laura - the editing is fantastic!
Love Nashville ! Amazing place.
Your taste is so great! I love Nashville! I went crazy up the coast to the Pacific Northwest, too! My hubs would pull the rv over and have lunch and let me shop at all the vintage shops. Mid mod is my jam!! I actually like the way you styled the candelabra better than the original.
Great video!â€So glad you got your dream dog!
