    great Video, i make stop motion and use foam to built my sets. I like the idea of using the hot wire cutter to make the details instead of a pencil. Will need to try that next time.

      Thanks for watching PMZTV. Love the stop motion technique, just checked out one of your videos, great work! If you are going to use the wire cutter for details, remember to cater in the spread you get as the foam melts so you won’t get really fine lines as you would with a pencil

      Thanks HBP. It depends where you are based. In the UK I get mine from Tilgear, link here www.tilgear.info/materials/plastic-materials/modelling-foam/sty050fbl-styrofoam-blocks-50-x-500-x-600mm - I’ve head Lowes home improvement sell it in America. I’m sure stockists would come up if you google it. Hope that helps and thanks for watching👍😁

    Hello. Very nice video. Thanks for sharing. What kind of material do you use? Is that Styropor or something different?

    What fid you use to glue the bottom to the side piece?

    • @dazatronsdioramallama6370
      @dazatronsdioramallama6370  Před 2 lety +1

      I use Gorilla glue - use very sparingly though as it can expand but it gives a really strong bond

    is there something you can use on top of it to give it a hard shell? and protect the foam?
    What kind of foam are you using?

    • @dazatronsdioramallama6370
      @dazatronsdioramallama6370  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Good question Michael. You can use Mod Podge over the top to create a hardened finish. The foam I use is high density foam or craft foam. It comes in either grey, blue or pink usually. Hope that helps 👍

      @dazatronsdioramallama6370  Před 2 lety

      Wow Bobby, now there’s a project. I tend to aim my videos at beginners. To complete a whole castle Grayskull would be on a more advanced level mainly because of the level of sculpting needed for the skull itself. I am looking to create a “breakout” based on the toy towers from the Grayskull toy so keep an eye out for that one.

    What type of foam is this?

    What kind of colors do you use? ist it oil based?

    • @dazatronsdioramallama6370
      @dazatronsdioramallama6370  Před 2 lety

      Just regular acrylics - anything I can grab hold of. For this make, I used grey to prime the styrofoam then dry brushed with a light green and an aqua blue.

    Could you use a soldering iron to "carve" the lines?

    • @dazatronsdioramallama6370
      @dazatronsdioramallama6370  Před 2 lety +1

      I haven’t tried it but I don’t see why that wouldn’t work just remember you do get some spread so however thick the tip of the soldering iron is your lines will be wider. Let me know how you get on 👍

      🤣 my wife and daughter hate the fact that my nails grow at a considerable rate. I just can’t be bothered to trim them half the time. It is a pain in the arse when working with styrofoam though 😁

      Thanks for the concern Robert. I do tend to wear a ventilation mask now or cut the foam in a well ventilated area
