From what I have experienced about RPM need of controllers, Notch 1 occurred at 0:26 seconds, because you can see train moving before change in RPM. And so forth notch progressed till Notch 6

That's correct, notch 1 does not change the engine speed.
Also, on some modern EMDs, if I'm not mistaken, the engine speed in notch 7 and 8 are the same. I know this is true for GE locomotives. (But I think it is notches 6 to 8 - again, I could be wrong.)

@@88ashwa Yes. Your original comment seemed to say that this loco doesn't need electricity to run. It does, and just like any other diesel-electric loco it produces it own electricity for its traction motors by burning diesel rather than drawing it from overhead wires. A diesel-electric loco is technically an electric loco with its own powerplant.
