@@dhruvdesai6473 see traction doesn't matter whether it's diesel or electric both are successful high speed locomotives. yes diesels acceleration Is little bit slow 10% but speed pick up is equal to electric locomotive.
Deisel locomotives are also electric as they have traction motors. Definitely they have high torque.and are used for goods train.WAP7 IS fast and furious. Was introduced in India in the year 1998. And have been very successful. Unlike ALCO's ,WDP are turbo charged and have significant amount of acceleration.
While the engine started to roll mayb 3 notch Mayb 5 notch in 1 second Mayb 7 when only the engine passed the platform and 2 seconds later 8 notch I think... Well I may be wrong but EMD is a beast
For wdp-4 series engines 4-5 notch is sufficient for 80% of performance that our tracks can handle. Nice acceleration with ICF rakes and train was on curve by the way.
