This week at Ashville, Daniel gets dressed up and manages to land himself a new cleaning job, at the refurbishment project it’s time to start specifying the doors, architrave, and skirting. Things go from bad to worse as the police attend the scene of a crime and find Daniel left standing around holding the bag

I know many people don’t need downstairs bedroom or any further renovations for disability or when they get older .
London lacks this due to space but many people forget about practical uses within the house.
So when I look at prices for the house it doesn’t make sense for the value of the property and future renovations .
London homes mostly have extension into the back and loft room but you can’t add no more .
It’s good seeing different areas and how the houses are used and built up .
If you have the money it’s clear the adaptations they can make in their homes but I’m curious on how long they live there as some only live for 12 years or so and move on .
Quite interesting as farmers own waterways and land also some people use solar or other sources of energy instead of using government resources.
That is also very interesting.
😎🙏🏽
Looking forward to it 🎉😂
I just can’t believe people.
This guy works so hard for what he has SUPER FUCKING hard as well..
He works that hard if I was his family member I’d feel ashamed to even ask him for anything just coz I know this guy works like a fucking machine for the things he has…
Mentally, physically, repetitively..
I don’t even know if I have that level of intense never ending work mode in my character at all…
Got to respect Daniel for the way he dealing with these software crooks. Patience and taking emotion out of it. Not an easy task!
Your car is a target, people who don’t mind stealing things see your Ashville wheel cover as a souvenir to put on their wall, also just get a piece of metal made up for the back window, if it’s been done twice it will happen again, it’s a commercial vehicle having a glass rear window is pointless and only causing you issues (something to bear in mind for when you get your new one)(not too sure what Urban are talking about, vans don’t have windows on the back door in case you get locked in the back)
100% agree, common sense to do what you have suggested!
Every car now is the target, they will rob you day/night all the time.
Its only common sense when your normalise this shiiit@@punitgovind
That's what I said to
I have to commend you Daniel because before I started watching your videos over a year ago now, I never once had any interest in building or materials and since then you have made me into an addict, so thanks for getting me hooked on something of great interest which won't damage my health 😉👏 Keep up the great works as all of your videos are pure 💯🔥🔥🔥
Instead of having such dark tints why not get 20% tint so people can see in, but get the cage material just over the windows so potential thieves see that they still couldn’t get in if they smash the glass. Inside you could have a clip to remove it, hence allowing a person locked in to get out.
Lexan (Polycarbonate or bullet proof glass) would be better substitute. Care have to be taken to use screen cover to prevent UV exposure from sunlight causing the glass from becoming opaque when parked.
I think the reason they break in is because they can already see there is something in the car.
@@Chris-sd8zk yes, but the point I’m getting at is adding the cage to the windows only.
@@unknown14191 do you know how expensive bullet proof glass is. He may as well just keep replacing and he’d still have money in his pocket after a year
Did you lot not listen. The main reason he can’t is because of safety. Incase someone got locked in. Bullet proof glass is like putting a steel panel. Also you can still have clear glass and they’ll still break in. Probably more so. They ain’t after his jacket or jumpers. They want his bag in the hope of camera gear. You lot are dumb man
Make sure someone didn't put an air tag on your car . If they did, they would know your location and keep harassing you. Unfortunately, that's the world we live in at the moment.
14:08 vans don’t USUALLY have rear windows…they have a manual door release inside…in the 90 commercial variant there’s a tail door internal manual release located in the left side D pillar! So you could have a cage fitted as long as the manual release is still accessible from inside the cage!
That’s incorrect, you can spec vans with/without windows on the back doors and sides
@@bredeyyy7402 the majority of vans don’t have rear windows…they still have manual door release on the inside regardless.
@@jvoric You stated vans don't have rear windows, which is incorrect; just because the majority of van buyers choose not to have windows fitted does not mean vans don't have rear windows.
@@petesmittnow you’re just being pedantic !
If it makes you feel better I’ve edited my comment…now, Put your internet cop badge away again till next time someone makes an innocent mistake! 😝
You need to get some sponsorship from an car alarm survailance company!!. There is definitely an opening there for one.
You need a system with Proximity sensors and some sort of internal cctv system which uploads footage to your cloud , email etc. of people near/inside your vehicle.
As for sealing the back door glass. Get an internal door opening handle fitted inside. That would satisfy the trapping inside issue.
Don't tell people what security is fitted at they might target it again 😅.
The detail you go into on site is excellent and much appreciated. I work with my dad and only on small-scale building projects, but our mentality is that you get it right the first time when the customer is paying. If you have to go back, it's costing you. Brilliant as always Daniel, thank you for the content!

Did You just called Daniel, Ash? 😂 😂 wtf were you thinking. You can’t just make nicknames up for people you feel you know because your a regular viewer of their channel. I hope Daniel sees your comment. His response would be gold!
@@MajorMac621 WTF you talking about
Grow a pair of balls
''Desperate people'' nah fam, they do it because they don't wanna work, they wanna take from hard working people. they have a choise and choose to do it.
All vehicles sold in the US must have a manual boot release inside the boot for such occasions. Maybe it's possible to fit a manual release in the Defender as well. This way you could install the cage and still get out if necessary.
It has one
I'm 45 years young the 23rd of June!!!!!! And I've been in love with trains since my grandfather took me to work with him when I was a youth , and ever since I've been collecting model trains and construction equipment!!! What I do is while putting together leggo trains, rail yards ,construction equipment essc I will crazy glue them and when they need a dusting/cleaning I use the can air and an small brush and it works perfectly just an idea for you brother !!!!! God bless you and your family
What ever happened to the trucker Tim delivery?
I’ve been waiting for that too. Haven’t seen on either channel b
It’s all ready in the yard
I looked on TT's channel and don't see it. Must have went sideways?
Tim did give it a quick mention at some point, he said he didn't hear anything back.
Would of been a good video too watch 😂
Yo, my fiancée got me an "It's Monday" tee, and the quality is top grade. If Ashville start doing tools, I'm going to have to make up projects as an excuse to get the full set😅
Daniel two things. Back door you can order a version with no glass solid door only. Second with weights I have two DAF tippers and all we do is send them empty. if they require a loaded break test we send our hiab over which loads some concrete blocks onto them. Other option is take the truck and once its loaded for a job on one day send it to scania in morning for brake test and then straight to job
Daniel. You have a great team behind you. You are lucky to have such a good team in your business.
Benji is some man, mad to think how you managed without having someone direct in the yard
Absolutely loving Terry's new theme tune when driving the Mini Digger, I was curled up in a ball whilst laughing 😂😂😂
Daniel change the number plate man....I see u on the a40 n the plate...if I didn't know the plate id not bat an eyelid
😂
A custom Monopoly Ashville Edition: now that's something to go for. "Serious" instead of Chance, (leave nothing to chance, right?), every station you land on has to be to the shout of "Are you not Into Trains?!", not sure if O'Donovan's should be Mayfair or Jail, but Southern's and Fox's definitely need to be on the dark blue and dark green. Players' pieces include a size 13 steel cap boot, a tipper, a volumetric, Terry's Amarok, stuff like that, if they'll do it! Instead of houses and hotels, have the "Not-LEGO" blocks and shipping containers. 😁
The attention to detail on the build is second to none. If I was loaded and getting a house Ashville would be doing it.
In Scotland at all the HGV VOSA MOT sites ive used, they put the weight on the truck with either ton concrete blocks or a hydraulic press which pushes down on truck.
I remember seeing this when I went with my friend to get his truck tested. Very interesting to watch being done! This was in the south west of england.
A metal grate over your window is 100% allowed, in every car/van there is a built in mechanism usually behind a little pop off cover that anyone locked inside can get off and open the boot/ back doors
Dan you should use IBC containers for load testing , that's what we use for adding load onto flatbed wagons . They are filled with water to add 1 tonne per IBC . They can be filled and emptied easily as it's only water .
I had the same issue with a Defender 110 Commercial…. Get a limousine black out tint film put on the rear window works a treat stops people seeing in, your car may have the clear sight mirror so you should still be fine for visibility when reversing
I'm currently converting a cow shed in France into a home/gite business, I find your channel helpful and motivating. Been watching for a couple of years. 👍
For the lego set, get it and keep it as you said as a reminder how your journey started
Hey Daniel, Invest in some Clear window tinting.. So when they attempt to smash your windows they will still be held together via the Tinting In most cases.. as it will act like a laminate. From a Tinter!
or get a less showy car, like a 2011 Vauxhall Corsa bag-of-shytte for £100 with a regular number plate on it so he can enter and leave the city undercover
Also got the car checked for any unknown trackers, just covering another base.
cool show as always
@@amogrows my uncle who earned $400,000 drove his daughter and sons cars different days. Low profile wins.
Belated our birthday greetings. Great content as always, you can fit a protective film on the inside of the rear window which prevents the glass from shattering all over. We had it on cab windows for safety. See you in the next episode.
Daniel,as you may or not know you can get security film that stops people smashing the glass in on your rear screen. It will shatter but will not give way and allow access into your vehicle. But will push out so people can escape in an emergency!
Get some concrete blocks made up with lifting eyes. When the tippers and grab lorries go in for PMI send Ben with them. They get repaired when it’s time for the brake test Ben cranes in the weights. When done they get removed. The lorry can then go straight out to do a muck away or go to the yard to load.
Hi Daniel, I too have to do loaded brake tests on the volvo I drive. So what we do is to have volvo do the 6 weekly unloaded, then as long as you get a loaded brake test within the same week of that 6 weekly it's valid, so I just do a drive by on the way past to a delivery.
Get a nextbase in car dash came that records front & back when parked up.
You'd think Volvo or whoever testihn would just have some concrete weights like the lego blocks that they can lift into the tipper bodies to do the test. Then just remove the blocks once done and be on your way. I don't know anything about lorries so unsure of the technicalities of the test but in my eyes this seems like a decent way without having to have a pile of aggregate on hand. The companies doing the inspections could even use it as a selling point as why to use them.
Foxy has had a couple of exhaust pipes rust out on 18 month old Volvo's as well Daniel. Very expensive to fix if you buy the pipes from Volvo. Baz and Cal fixed them themselves!
You can buy a cage light thing that will screw to the inside of the door across the window. Then if they break the window, they still can’t get in so hopefully they won’t break the winter and it will be black and it will be plastic covered for screws on it job done
I am sorry for you Daniel for having the car broken into. It happened to me in Cardiff as well and is such a nightmare to deal with changing the glass and insurance. I recommend a sticker saying: somebody tried twice before, no values left in the car.
I admire your attitude Daniel, it’s so frustrating.
Nice to see you helping to build a better Slough. God knows we need all the help we can get.
We get our trucks to call in when they’re loaded just for a brake test, Had a DVSA inspection this week and you only need 4 BRT a year and that includes MOT
Just love Daniels vision and drive.
We already have a notification bell, it's 8am every Sunday
Put a fold back lid on the roof of your 4 wheel drive. Like army trucks easy peasy.
Hello, My advice... Just buy a brake test unit and start doing them in house. You can do the 6 week inspection at the dealership and can do the loaded brake test pre or post inspection when you catch it loaded. You will save tons of money and time .
Daniel try this for your car it might work
Polycarbonate is the stronger material at 250 times the impact resistance of standard glass. Polycarbonate offers much more resilience than acrylic, making it ideal for highly demanding applications like bullet-resistant windows.
Downside is they will probably then smash the side windows!
@@cyberprog There aren't side windows to the storage area..
There's no way i would work with that company after they've messed you about, i would go for that refund.
Some nice details in the loft,,
Very patient with the vehicle break in,, getting very pissed off myself with tool theft/van break ins,,
I run a hgv repair garage and ref the hgv brake tests we get them done 1st thing in the morning then the lorry carries on to do its load then return later for its inspection
Or just use a Bowmonk Brakecheck decelerometer as they are approved for testing .
Well done for laughing it off bro , respect! 👊🏻
Keep up the good work, love the videos 🙌🏻
This man does so many things at a time, I can’t even get my head around it, does he even have time for a relationship? Well done bro!
Check the conditions on your o-licence from vosa as the way they word it to do with pmi’s it sounds like you MUST have a loaded rolling brake test how ever they work it that they would LIKE to see a rolling brake test how ever using a tapley meter which you can buy and use yourself and it supplies a print out is sufficient for a 6 week inspection and will also highlight any issues you may have. The compulsory one is carried out during the vehicles annual mot. We have many customers that we complete a tapley brake test for and when audited there is never an issue reguarding brake tests and they have even questioned the auditor and have been informed that unless their roadside checks are questionable or mot history is bad that vosa will not require a laden brake test. Hope this helps
This guy talks sense, get yourself a Bowmonk BrakeCheck you can do 6 weekly tests and print the results which is accepted.
As said, a Bowmonk BrakeCheck handheld decelerometer will do a test and is in the guide to road worthiness as a accepted brake test alternative to the rolling road.
Happy birthday Daniel - another great update - keep going. Might be worth not putting your private number plate on the new car and see if that helps I’m not being broken into
Thanks guys another fantastic Sunday Morning
Highly suggest replacing the rear window with a metal/plastic panel if possible!
Love the way you deal with real life situations and any problems 👌🙌
One thing that urban can do is they could put in a Pull tab on the inside which allows you to open the door from the inside when locked in which they will then be able to put a solid door on the back
25:26 What a throwback I was there for all the home games back in the 15/16 season
Just get your windows done in armour tints, can still remove it from the inside . Outside makes it unsmashable ( can still eventually break it but still not get in . )
Very sorry for Daniel he doesn't deserve this
Daniel with the back window of your car put mesh/cage on the inside of your window put hinges on the bottom and latches on the top protected by the mesh/cage from the outside and with your truck break test can you use concrete blocks instead of loose materials crane on crane off
Here in south wales whichever company does the brake checks (DAYS FOR INSTANCE) give you the option to use their weighted water tanks. They load it on and off. There is a small charge but probably costs less than having to do it your way.
14:00, get a solid back door with rear view camera that links up to the dash or a separate screen in the front
There’s a button in the rear of the defender on the left hand side to open the door if your locked in. It’s mid way up and about 30cm in, you can’t see it from standing at the rear with the door open as it’s on a sloped bit of plastic, JLR should of put it with the tow bar button so people can find it 👍🏼
11:30, Brother I live in detroit what I would reccomend is to find an old ford truck (1970-80's) with 80k+ miles on it and get it repaired, Make sure it has a bit of rust on it and no hub caps on the tires. It will be more reliable than anything you've ever drove. You seem like the type of guy who would drive a work truck anyway :)
Ps. This works.
In my old discovery I have a full internal cage - dog guard, side window guards, and rear window guard. Never had any issues.
Here in Australia on our buses we use anti shatter security window film, it’s 20 Mil thick (Mil not mm) and has worked great , if the window is smashed it retains all,of the broken pieces and makes it a lot harder to gain access through the window, ya boy should look into it
Don’t know if it is possible but we have telematics installed on our trailers that give live and constant updates on brakes. This covers the loaded brake tests with the exception of an annual MOT
Responsible lad cleaning up the glass. Well done that man.
I havnt seen plumb slate in years as it was supposedly ran out nice to see they have found some more
I had a commercial repair centre in Glasgow we would do the inspection and any repairs on the day The customer send in loaded truck or trailer within 7 days of inspection 15 mins turn around it worked well for them and you only need 4 loaded VBT Including MOT test
Michael did say stay out of his part of London hahah he boys must be doing your windows 😂😂😂
Why not get your own brake tester and do in house testing or cast some concrete blocks to simulate a load .
Put them on with the grab test the brakes take off with the grab tipper can go back to work and only one wagon returning to the yard
Good ole tyre man ... another great show
Its risky business buying a childhood Lego model Daniel! I rebuilt mine (around 20ish) with intention to sell on ebay.....
Instead I now have 164 sets from my child hood on display. Its addictive! But on a positive note it helps mental health when i need to take a step back from the real world. I know that train set isn't cheap, but do it!
In regards to lorry weight testing, have you considered large water bladders to simulate load, that could be filled at and by garage. The water bladders though similar would have different material properties, due to slosh. However due to water being sub optimal conditions, if the truck braked to standard with water, it would brake excellently with aggregate.
Just my opinion as an engineering student
Happy Sundays :)
Not got your patience daniel . Keep calm & carry on !!
Get a solid back door. Rear view mirrors are overkill. More secure, and cheaper in the long run!
#1 Fan!!💯💯💯❤️🙏👏🔥
Really enjoy watching your videos... You have a really positive glass half full view on life.
Try leaving the tint of the rear window, if T-leaf can see what's in the back then might not bother smashing it in.
Rule of thumb is not to leave anything in mota anyways. Opportunists are always lurking. Daniel ought to have multiple cameras, so at least he can get crystal clear images of the offender(s) and bring em to justice.
Put a clear window film on the glass, at least it will hold it together and it makes it harder to break
well done for clearing up the broken glass, it shreds dogs paws, and goes straight through my puncture resistant bike tyres
Regarding punctures in the yard, Olly Blogs youtuber has a 3 point linkage mount with a large bar magnet attached. Attaches to tractor, drive round yard once in a while. Shown on vid lasr monday or tuesday
Watch out as computer software does not have to work, the precedent was set 20+ years ago. I had a clause put in the contract that they would take the software back if I was not happy. But didn't state "take back free of charge" so was charged for over 50% of the cost and offered a partial refund. After a year and a month before court, a deal was agreed that I paid for all hardware. My solicitor said I would loose in court and would cost £100k in costs but I would not back down.
YO daniel have lost alot of weight you know. Missed this vlogs. Am back again watching. ps when i get rich, i want ashville to do my house. God willing. Yo inspire alot of young men. Keep up the good work.
11:37 You say there was nothing of value in there , The thieves don’t know that, they’ll smash the window to get to the bags they see!
Maybe it’s Time for clear glass with mesh behind to make it harder for the opportunist thieves!
You should change you number plate. Everyone knows it as do the vandals.. blank the new plate out going forward on your future videos!! Just a suggestion and get rid of the body kit which makes it stand out.
Urban are leading you the wrong way, there is no requirement to have glass that breaks on the rear door. My advice is to get the glass covered with an anti smash film, on both sides. Smashguard sell a 250 micron film that will do the job. Then put a thinner 100 or 75 micron on the inside.
Regarding loaded brake test. Why not get your hands on a second hand set of Brake rollers. Maybe, MAHA, VLT, or BM. Easy enough to use. Fit them in your own workshop and do brake testing in the yard yourselves.
Or just use a Bowmonk BrakeCheck decelerometer that is approved.
16:12
Legendary!! Was waiting for that 😂💯
24:25 i wonder if scania/volvo could keep sealed water tanks on hand (that are full to the brim). that way you can pop one in for the brake test and they could keep em on hand with the existing water
For the staircase you can probably do a self supported concrete staircase cheaper! I've done a few myself and they do look awesome and they have less steel in them. But I'm in Australia so don't know your concrete and labour prices in comparison to here😅
Maybe you can sell scania some concrete blocks that they can load and unload themselves for the break testing.
Add a film to the window wich allows the glass to be pushed out but prevents the glass from being pushed in from the outside. It will not stop the glass from being broken but will stop the glass from creating a mess on the street or inside the vehicle. Cleaning up the broken glass is wasted time and money.
Get your townie to shimmie up a pull chord for the inside of the back then a steel sheet to blank off the back window
Could you get a dashcam fitted in the back facing out? You can set them unfortunate parking mode so if the sense something they go off.
Get a custom steel panel fitted. Just like on the back doors off any van.
There will be a door release.
Love the audio during the morning train offload an toy fair travel beautiful
Regarding the window why not fabricate an upper panel insert in metal or fiberglass which is bonded or welded into what would be the window aperture in other words you have the equivalent of an unglazed van rear door. For an emergency if trapped use an internal emergency release puller or install a two way lock that can be opened from inside. Alternatively can Land Rover's special vehicles division supply a windowless door from factory with an emergency release? Thank you.
