It sounds so stupid to say "we dont need to lock our doors, because we live in the middle of nowhere!" WTH!? I would think living in the middle of nowhere would be a huge draw for a predator, because no one around to hear screams, and it takes law enforcement forever to get there! People lock your doors!

@@malachymoreland7417 Even more stupid is people in my town not closing their doors during the day. That is, until a pretty blond, who would walk around pretending to be a black gangsta, and her two followers got themselves into a huge "mess". They were breaking into the houses of senior citizens. (Tried my studio twice, which was impossible to break into.) Then they broke in, for the 3rd time, into the house of a retired CIA guy. He had set a trap, they got caught and he shot her and her cousin and let them bleed to death, inside his house. His excuse: he didn't want to ruin the police's Thanksgiving. Sounds crazy, but made national news. (Me to me: "stop laughing".) I sure don't miss the blond mobster. After that, less crime and more locked doors. A crazy CIA guy's house!

@@malachymoreland7417 I agree but I'm sure her family would not. They tried painting their psycho daughter as just this poor misunderstood, pretty girl, as well as blaming her cousin (although every one in town knows she was the leader). It took her longer to die and the equally psycho CIA guy, recorded it all, to prove they broke into his house. He had installed cameras and then he turned in the film. Premeditated killing of psycho teens. He was crazy enough to think that would somehow help him. If someone breaks into your house pretend that the person died immediately of shot gun bullet or bury the person and don't use such an insane defense. Their watch out guy got lucky. That story is so crazy that no one would believe it if it have not made national news.

I've got a middle of nowhere story if you would have the time to read (it isn't totally outrageous but it IS real):
(PS: it is long, so props if you can read the whole thing)
I was born and raised in NJ, and went away to college in Pittsburgh, PA. Both my parents were terminally ill at the time so it wasn't uncommon for me to drive home 6-7 times throughout the semester (not including Thanksgiving or Christmas break). I would drive home, do some grocery shopping, help them with chores, take my mother to chemotherapy, and a few other things over the weekend. For reference the drive is about 400 miles (650 km) and usually takes 6 hours give/take 15-30 min.
Unless I departed on a totally full tank of gas AND drove economically, I would always have to stop somewhere along the way for gas. I never really payed too much attention to the meter, and seeing as there never seemed to be a shortage of gas stations/signs along the highway, I would usually let the fuel gauge drop until it was in its last 1/8th before I started looking for nearby gas.
Well, on this one drive during my sophomore year (I was 19 years old), the navigation took me on a different highway for traffic purposes. (if you're from PA: I usually took Pennsylvania turnpike 76 or 80, but this was neither of those roads).
During this particular semester, I had classes Mon-Fri until at least 5 O'clock every day. So I did what I usually do: after class on Friday I would leave sometime between 6-8pm, get home between 12-2am Sunday morning, then go straight to sleep. Well on this particular night, I didn't depart until 10pm (unwise, yes, but I needed to get home to take my mother to a doctor the next day).
Around 2:30 in the morning, on this totally new highway, my gas gauge started getting pretty low. I kept my eyes peeled for any signs or stations, but there was nothing to be seen. The highway itself was empty, too; just a 2-lane road both ways. It was 2:30am on a foggy November night, there was hardly anyone on the roads, and I was practically out of fuel. Funnily enough, it was one of the darkest nights I can remember; extremely foggy, heavy overcast, got dark very early (about 5pm as it generally does in the NA Northeast in the Autumn and winter), and the moon was absolutely nowhere to be seen in the sky.
This was somewhere at central/Eastern PA, where it can be very rural and it isn't uncommon to have Amish communities.
Eventually, after driving at 55 mph for a while (to save fuel), my meter was firmly on empty. I did the smart thing and pulled over for a bit. I played with my Garmin GPS for a few moments and picked up the only gas station open within a 20 mile radius. It was about 15 miles away, and only a 2 minute detour off the highway. I had no choice... so, I drove.
By the time I got to the exit I was feeling VERY uneasy. The meter had been empty for more than 10 minutes now, I had seen hardly anybody else on the road, it was pitch black, cold, and foggy. The exit had no signs. Just a small ramp leading off into the thick Pennsylvania forest.
As I said, I had no choice. I followed the Navigation off the highway on this unmarked road. The road was very thin, unkept, and was bordered with a dark rank of treeline on either side. A mile later, I find it!
It was a small place. A *really* small place. It sat in a gravel clearing among the empty wilderness, with a small concrete pad on whch lay a very modest *2* pumps. A little glass shack for the clerk stood a few yards to the side. I pulled in (on fumes I suspect) and adjusted myself next to one of the pumps. As I put the car in park and moved to turn off the engine a man knocked on my window.
My mind was on other things and I hadn't seen anybody else at the station so it scared the absolute HELL out of me.
As the window was rolling down the man immediately burst out "we're closed. you need to leave." I took it he must've been sitting in the clerk's booth and saw me pull in. I told him that my navigation said the store was open, and after a quick gesture to my fuel gauge, I told him my car was empty.
He sighed and clicked open my gas door. (This was in Pennsylvania where the gas is self-serve, as opposed to NJ, where I'm from, where gas is clerk-pumped). He smacked the regular tab, took the pump and started filling my car. In total confusion, I just sat there. Very soon later, he stopped. After pumping for what felt like 5 seconds he put the nozzle pack. He *forcibly* instructed me once again: "we're *closed* and you need to *leave*."
I saw that he pumped just $10 worth of gas. As I started rifling through my wallet, he told one again: " Kid, leave *now* "
This time I knew something was wrong. I just needed to leave. Before I could respond he had walked around my car and back into his small booth; shutting the door with an audible quake.
I said I felt uneasy before, but now I was *beyond* uneasy; I was the most scared I had been in years. The interaction with the clerk made my mind race, and now the circumstances of the situation started to register in my mind. I started the car, took it off park, and rolled back onto the road.
Just 2 minutes later, as I was driving back to the highway, I saw the refraction of bright lights among the fog and forest ahead. Out of nowhere trundled 3 large pickup trucks. Each one close behind the other, all carrying a full load of cargo in the back. I hadn't seen a single car for the previous 10 minutes, and very suddenly this convoy of 3 pickups went by.
Whatever dealings were going on, I dodged it narrowly. I could have run out of gas on this lonely road, or I could have rolled straight into some sort of shady drug deal. I had enough gas to pick another station further down the road. I drove home just rethinking what must've been going on at that tiny place in nowhere-ville.
Once again. This is a true story. There is no horrifying punchline or any supernatural monster sightings, but it was true. It sits firmly in my memory for how atmospherically creepy the entire night was. I was young, it was very late, it was very dark, I was very alone, and my car was VERY empty; that stuff alone is enough raise my blood pressure, but as a cherry on top I experienced this VERY suspicious encounter in which, who knows, something very bad could have happened to me.

@@ProudDad1976in a life or death situation some ppl might think what will save u is being big and strong, or having a weapon, or having numbers, but the only thing that really helps u and will most likely ensure u survive is the ability to turn off your rational thought process and don’t try to figure out what someone’s intentions might be, don’t have sympathy or empathy. The type of person that will survive in a bad situation is the person that not only realizes that sometimes you’re dealing with ppl that can’t be reasoned with and your only option is violence and more important then being able to realize that the most valuable thing u can have in a situation like that is the ability to accept and actually go through with killing another human being. I feel like the main reason ppl don’t survive situations like that r because instead of just killing b4 getting killed they let their conscience get in the way or they try to use logic and reason and by the time they realize that won’t work its too late.

After that he moved away and they never saw him again. I think his name was also John.

Unfortunately it's not known the fate of the victims pictured in those evil images found in that dark web server crate. I hope they're well & safe, but statistically that's more than likely not the outcome that was afforded to them. Evil, Evil people in this World, it's at times fascinating the extremes some people can exhibit for I have encountered people so kind & compassionate that I literally cry if I think about those instances when such kindness was shown my way, but at the same time I've encountered other's whom if thought about for the same length of time I can shake with aggression & rage. Here though that fascination just becomes almost numbness when you try & understand how anyone could possibly not only tragically abuse children, but then exploit that abuse for monetary gain. It's fucking disgusting. Sorry that got dark when you were leaving a decent positive comment. Take care.

The camp goin wrong story.... been there somehow.
When i was in school and about 16 years old, my class were gonna have a midnight run. We were gonna run two and two. We were allowed one flash light per team. My team mate were a dude terrified of the dark, but i wasnt but that night i will never forget. We were gonna run and walk through bushes and forest area and a bog area in the f’n dark. I remember that my team was in the frost most of the night with other teams following us. I walked through a bush and i felt like i stepped in some giant branch and i wanted to kick it away so no one would get heard. I grabbed on to whatever i thought was a branch but it was cold and felt nothing like a branch and told my team mate to shine the flashlight on it and it was a dismembered human arm. I screamed so loud and so did everyone else when they saw what happened, and i fell backwards over a torso with no head on. Suddenly one yelled “its a fucking mannequin”
Our teacher had put out a parted mannequin to scare the crap out of us and when we were done with the run i walked fast over to him and told him he was a sick individual and what he did wasnt funny! His answer was “i knew u were the one to find it! But please have some humor”
I swear i could have punched him in the face if it wouldnt have had consequences. That was a sick twisted version of humor and not fun at all.

The story about the dad in Australia kind of reminds me of my dad, he was an MP in Vietnam and not someone to mess with. He is 70 plus years old now but in my 40s I still would not mess with him. Heart of gold for those who he let in his inner circle but eyes of a mountain lion ready to pounce, even now I never feel like I need a gun when he is around. They say the parent should never bury the child but honestly, I can't imagine life without him. I'm a father but I'm still a daddy's boy because my mother walked away from the family in 1980 when I was 3. I always joke he is a MotherFather, we have a good laugh but the truth is he is the best Dad and Mom you could ever ask for. Mend your cut and kiss it then track down your bully and fight there parent if he had to. I hope I become even half the dad he is.

That story about John kind of annoyed me. I assume the writer was female. The fact that her "daddy" was "no one to be messed with" adds absolutely nothing to the story. Why bother even mentioning it, unless you're just looking to brag about your family

Specially this bloke. I reckon there's heaps of dirty assumptions going on here, & I don't bloody like it, in fact reading some Sheila say that caused me to almost spit out my brekky which was for your info a biccy from Maccas buy 1 get 1. I still have 1 left, but I now lost my appetite & me doc says I need to gain me weight cause of me snake hips. So I don't wanna cause any drama with a Sheila today, but piss off would ya?
