- In Partnership with Warpath (Link Below) - Want to become a member of one of the most exclusive groups of pilots in the world? Warbird pilots fly a handful of aircraft remaining from WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and other conflicts. It takes special training, plenty of networking, a deep knowledge of history, and years of dedication to become a Warbird pilot. If you're like me and love aviation, you've probably been to more than a few airshows. So who are the pilots flying these incredible machines, and how can you become a certified Warbird pilot? This is a seldom-covered topic in the aviation world, and these pilots deserve a spotlight. I flew with the Aeroshell T-6 Texan Team at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh to find out more!

This channel isn't just dedicated to my job as an airline pilot... I want to highlight ALL pilot careers! What else do you want to learn about?
How to pass pilot exam in 1st attempt because I heard it's so hard to pass. The level of questions is so high.
It would be awesome if you could show your whole journey of becoming an airline pilot, from when you started loving aviation, your flight school and where you are today :)
I’d love for you to talk about cadet programs that regional airlines off, and maybe some resume/interview tips
Crop Dusting/Ag Pilot
How about anti-poaching/wildlife patrol pilot? I'm not sure there are any of those in North America, but there are quite a few in east and southern Africa. Maybe you can get over there and shoot some footage. Okay, maybe a long shot, but it's still interesting :)
Or how about bush flying? I think northern Canada or Alaska would be easier for you to get to. But I think that bush flying in the Amazon would also be interesting.
Another is pipeline patrol. These companies always seem to be hiring and it's a good time-builder job, but i'm not sure many of us know about the lifestyle. I would find that interesting.
i love how this channel isnt only about his job, and he educates us on so many different aviation careers. i love your content! keep it up!
That's the goal!
Awesome, i'm in your video!
I was in the Da20 behind the B17 at 0:40.
Kffz in 2010 for my flight training.
Great vid, Swayne!!!
Thanks Sam!
everyone loves your vids
When I was working for the Forest Service in the 70's I was lucky enough to work with and see B-17's B-24's and others. The sound of those engines starting up or taking off puts a chill down your spine. I love Airplane noise! It was not legal to ride in an Airtanker but I will say it is awesome to see a fire run from the nose of a B-17. just saying :)
Love your videos Swayne That’s amazing!
Thanks for watching!
That video at 1:20 was fire!!! Swayne...you're quite the cinematographer!
Now this was a change of pace to say the least; yet still incredibly inspiring. Keep doing what you're doing Swayne!
Another great video Swayne with spectacular visuals!
Fantastic video as always. The photography, editing and choice of music superb!
Awesome video Swayne! One of my best friends who is a private pilot and has many hours in his own PA 28-161 once flew on a B17 from KOTM to KDSM and took his turn at the controls of it. The crew said he was a natural at it. I never will forget that! Mainly because I had to drop him off at Ottumwa and then drive up to Des Moines to pick him up and drive us back home. It was one his best experiences! Mark in Iowa.
My next door neighbor and best friend I ever had was 102 years old when he passed in 2018. He worked in the early 1940s in Long Beach building B-17s - said he 'kissed the back end of every one of 'em on their way out the door.' From there, they were flown for the FIRST TIME by women pilots to the Canadian border where they were 'pushed over the border' because the US wasn't in the war yet, and from there flown over to Europe to be used in the war effort. When the Warbirds came to San Diego/ Palomar Airport near where we lived, I called up and got him a free flight on the B-17 - the first time in his very long life he had ever flown on a plane he himself helped build! Everyone thought '102 years old, he's going to need lots of help' but he bounded up into that plane and back out again when I met him at the other airport. They let him sit in the navigator's seat and he was the star of the show! His best comment - "BOY THOSE ARE LOUD!'' No insulation on the interior of the plane, it's all bare metal walls. He was grinning from ear to ear for days afterwards.
It was great to see you at Oshkosh this year. We have a CAF chapter in Memphis and have met a few of the people involved. I have always wanted to fly with them, but maybe eventually.
Great vid!!!! Love watching ur vids can’t wait for more!!
I was at AirVenture and I can say that it is amazing seeing all these War birds, and other amazing aircraft, flying all day everyday for the week. thanks for the great vid.
What an video swayne.. that video was damn impressive.. I loved it❤️
Very Well put together video!
Hey Swayne. Thanks for another awesome video. I had the honour of flying in a B17 and like you that was one of the highlights in my aviation life!!!! Thanks for what you do!!!!
What a cool video, Swayne! I learned a ton! I love your passion and enthusiasm! There’s always warbirds parked in our neck of the woods at the Aurora Airport.
You inspire me to become a pilot so I work for it. Seriously I don't know what to do in future but because of you I know what should I do in future. Thanks alot.
I am also working hard to become a pilot and I seriously want to fly with you one day. Thank you for your Videos it motivated me alot.

Swayne you look like a kid in a candy store. Love your enthusiasm and presentations. I have been following since your days in Hawaii and you never disappoint. 👏
Love the Video Swayne and love seeing those T6 Texan’s also I’d love to learn how to fly warbirds like the North American P-51 Mustangs or The Grumman F8F Bearcat! That’s always been a dream of mine! Also love the B-25’s and B-29’s!!!
Thank you WARBIRD and even greater Thanks to you, Swayne, for all the ino and for promoting flying Great vlog 🛩🛩🛩
Hey man, its great to see that you've been successful. I've watched you 6 years ago
I really wish I can see one of these beauties someday...
What a great video Mr Swayne I love your vids 👍👍😊😊😊😊😊😊👏👏👏
adds to bucket list
You really make me have hope that i will achieve my goals of becoming a pilot . keep up the good work bro
I had a ride in a T6 in Camarillo airport one in the collection of the CAF So Cal it was one to remember.
I became a private pilot at age of 15 due to the inspiration if building giant balsa rc aircraft for years loving ww2 Warburg after watching pearl harbor for first time when I was 9. I also started driving circle track racecaes at age of 9 first racecar was a 410hp 4 cylinder asphalt oval mustang it was like a late 80s mustang fix body Era but it was a coupe not hatch back. So fkying giant 1/4 scale rc war birds as a kid and teen abd racing inspired me to get a pilots license and fly warlords. I'm 29 been flying ww2 warnings since I was 17 I now own a fu corsair which is amazing owning one whistling death is real. Hard plane to fly but love it. I'm fixing to buy either a mustang , spitfire or go older and get a ww1 plane or a steerman. I spent 13 years restoring my fu corsair from time I started my pilot lessons to 2 years ago I finally got to fly it and its amazing. I can't afford a ready to fly mustang or spitfire so I'm gonna have to restore one just like I did with my corsair. Or build a really nice replica kit mustang. It's expensive to get a warbird cert and check ride but worth it
I love your videos! They inspire me to follow my dream to become a pilot one day!
Thanks Jared!
I would love to see Swayne, Captain Joe, Mentor pilot, Kelsey, sit together and do a live call in show.
Greetings Swayne, Would you please do a video on: The “Approach Phases,” of flying an airliner. Meaning, I think, you program the FMC. You takeoff fly to a certain altitude and engage the auto pilot. So now the auto pilot takes you to a certain waypoint. Does the auto pilot fly certain phases of the approach and then the pilot takes control for the final landing phase? Please explain. Thank you, take care and stay healthy.
2:18 also the most gate kept group you’ll ever meet.
More day in the life videos would be awesome. Not just showing the best of the airline life but the day to day stuff would be great. Just like vlogs but that may be too time consuming lol question for you, did you go through the CFI route to build hours or another way?
He flew for an Island Charter to build hours.
Es increible . La aviacion es lo mejor . Saludos desde colombia🙏🏼✈✈👨🏽✈️🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴
Great video! I have been watching your videos and have some questions...
Could you have went straight from UND to Envoy Air? Why did you work for Mokulele Airlines before Envoy? Was it for the experience?
Did you chose Envoy Air because of the flow-through program to American Airlines?
I think you are based in Chicago, IL; how do you like the city? I hear about crime in the news lots... do you like it and feel safe? Do you want to stay there long term or is it just a nice city while you are young?
Thank you!
you don't graduate from UND with 1000 flight hours which is the requirement for a restricted ATP license which you need to fly for part 121 operations (Envoy) it would not have been possible for him to go from UND to Envoy.
Holy crap, is that an @Steveo1Kinevo cameo in your vid?!? Anyhow, another great production Swayne!
I love your vids
Thank you!
Mel Bch 🌴🇺🇸 NICE diversion. Good seeing you. Carry on. 👋 🏄
Cool plane❤
So I wouldn’t need Air Force background also once again great video
I love this Video. And i want to be a Pilot. Good whishes for you good luck.💞
Love from India

*laughs in war thunder*
A10 Warthog👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
If you have the opportunity, can you make a video of Ariel FireFighting?
How realistic is it to become an airline pilot? I'm 14 and have an interest in aviation and have been since- well as long as I can remember. I want to become a pilot but I don't know how many people go to flight school and put all the hours in only to be rejected by every major company. Also can I still do it if I have celiac?
Finally, a Swayne Martin video🤩🤩🤩🤩
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I remember flying in 3 warbirds in Dallas. My dream is to fly a p51.
can you try to do a video with the navy
370th viewer from Nepal
weird. I was just thinking about wanting to fly warbirds at the local CAF museum like a week ago.
9:24 How come they didnt give you a helmet? Isn't your head just as valuable?
Hay Swayne I love your videos so much and I want to become a pilot you you one day I hope I see you as a pilot one day and I am only in 9th grade so I still have a long way to go hope to see you one day.
Where can you get a p51 mustang
I want to see Swain in a Stuka. (Sam in the back seat)
Please can you put subtitles in your videos? I'll really appreciate.. because there are many different countries following u, so please make it more easy for us.. put the subtitles!
U should make a vlog channel
Side note the b-17 was the Flying Fortress not the super fortress.
I like your video
Can you do a video t talk to the control tower
Can I be in contact with you
Nossa deve ser legal voar
What held uu back on releasing Clips G?!
What do you mean by this?
Looks cool, however I would still not want to fly these vehicles. Not my type…
Great Video though !
Early
Can we become both airline pilot and warbird pilot at a same time?
"you will need at least 150 hours of Texan time" at what $5-700 an hour rate? I don't know but guessing.
That's B-17 "Flying Fortress" not "Superfortress". I'm sure you know that 😉
Shoot! Haha oops
Come out to the Reno Air races mid September. An awesome event with high performance modified war birds in various classes. It's eargasmic.
You are so hard working man martin good job👍😉😁 but you are not best friend 🙄
Wait I only need 150 hours in a T-6? That’s duable very duable
at 500$ an hour not really.
@@desks3674 eh yeah, but if you get a good career path sometimes it’ll be paid for
Hy are you warbird piolet?
huh
