This serial its dialogues are very closed to my heart.
Bitter reality of relationship.
Its reminded me of many phases of life .

I think not only women should be educated by their parents but sons should also be educated properly in terms of their behavior with their wives in different circumstances. Our Prophet (pbuh) is the perfect example for that and he never even raised his voice while talking to his wife, so from where these men starts thinking that they can do all these stuff☹️

This show is amazingly depict the true picture of society. I like Sanam baloch. Every woman in society sacrificing their emotions for the family. It is happening in every house of India and Pakistan. And family with low income having this trait from generations. Durr-e-shehwar is one of the great show that tell hoe societies from middle class family running. But only the women suffering most .....Love from India

Such an underrated drama more people should watch classic writing of Umera Ahmed and well acted by all the actors.
Conversation between Rukhsaar and Adnan says it all. Superb acting by all the characters. Fan of Sanam Baloch. In between the drama became a bit boring, but the end was superb. Carries a nice social message how respect is very important in all relations .

Such a beautiful surprise :) Watched this drama on TV around 10 years ago and YT recommended its last episode today out of nowhere. I can't really explain how full I am with emotions of nostalgia right now. Dramas of that era radiate different kind of warmth, comfort and quality. Really miss Sanam Baloch's era. What a powerful actress she was. This ost, script, performances and those days. Ufff I might cry honestly.

Aarzoo was always rational and considerate however,she was instigated against Kiran by her own mother..
Arzoo's mother and rukhsar were the only negative characters of this drama.
Miss Sanam Baloch. Itne saare actress aa rahe hai but inki baat aur thi.
Believable drama that has shown the issue of domestic issue that lots of girls faces, how they get pressured by family and everyone around to stay no matter how wrong the husband is, how a MIL puts the whole blame on daughter in law as they try to protect her son and how bitter some people are and create negativety for others around them too.
All actors did a fantastic acting, good script, dialogues, directions. Good job by full Kankar team 👏.
I hope this drama gives courage to atleast few girls not to take abuse whether mental or physical.

I am watching this after years. Now after studying medical and getting psychoeducation i am able to understand behaviors of humans better. I would request people reading my comments to educate yourself with psychoeducation then things in your personal life will get better. We will be able to handle relationships better and have more patience. Seeking therapy was necessary for sikandar. He is traumatized by the act of his father. Things could have been much better. Sikandr took the step to break the cycle finally.

If you're sure that your husband is a kind of malignant narc or covert narc then it's highly unlikely to hope for anything . If you feel like that the ability to self reflect is zero , In that case the only option is to save yourself from further abuse and leave the relationship for your own sanity.

A very emotional drama to watch. Depicting the reality of marriage life for some. Amazing to see a Pakistani drama against domestic violence and supporting a woman’s right to not tolerate such violence. I admired Kirans strength in leaving an abusive marriage to then show us that not all relationships are perfect however abuse must not be tolerated. A healthy relationship consists of conflict but not abuse. Sikander is traumatised by his childhood and needs childhood trauma therapy to remove the anger in him so he doesn’t repeat same cycle of his father.

I feel sorry for Sikandar,he was a victim of child abuse & became ONE because of undealt trauma of childhood. His mother didn't take any stand & kept on getting abused & in his conscience it was not a big deal to hit wife. Kiran became a lady who broke this vicious cycle by teaching him it's not okay to slap/hit ur wife otherwise love doesn't mean anything,it becomes an empty word. Her life with Adnan wasn't smooth,they too had arguments & fights but he never raised his hand on her to show he's powerful, he's manly & she's just a slave Infront of him. Yeah violence in any form is not acceptable be it on ur kids,animals, househelps, employees or wife.
Some ppl will criticize Kiran's character that she didn't throw any tantrums at Adnan but used to argue with Sikandar & blah blah so lemme tell you he was the first man of her life. She wasn't aware abt love & then fell for him. He spoilt her with his love,she threw tantrums becuz he treated her like a Queen initially & suddenly when someone slaps you for a petty argument it feels like you've been thrown into a pit from the sky. Arguments & fight happen in every relationship but hitting is not normal. However, she loved Sikandar more than Adnan that's for sure. Her love for Sikandar was there when she says Dill ko kuch hua tha. Love doesn't mean you've to live together. Sometimes things don't work the way we want. Umera Ahmed is really a phenomenal writer.

I have worked in Domestic abuse settings. This show is a master piece in desecting the intricacies of the violence in families. It can be used in university teaching. The cycle of abuse was brought out so well. Everytime an abuse is perpetuated the abuser shows love, apologies and gifts. This is done so regularly that the victim forgets who she is. The self esteem is destroyed. Very beautiful serial, loved the dialogue and the main role of the actress was great, the timing of the dialogue was perfect. Great job for the whole team. Thank u
The abuser doesn't change, no matter what you say or he says or promises. The way the verbal pledges are taken seriously is funny at best, they dont even acknowledge that they are abusers, because they always put the blame on the abused, that she is not complying enough, I consider it as an oversimplification, it is much more complicated.

It's not fair enough to blame Sikandar's parents for every action taken by Sikandar..no matter how traumatic his childhood was..
I understand children learn from parents but Sikandar is highly qualified, went abroad n studied.. .. atleast he should hv learnt that women in this era can't b beaten ..and moreover IF his anger was that uncontrollable..he should hv gone to a pyschiatrist/pyschologists
It doesn’t matter if someone is well qualified, I have seen well educated people hit their wives and family is modern outwardly but their thinking is patriarchal and are controlling. I have seen low educated men also treat spouse with respect. You never know..

Nice drama. So well directed, unlike today's serials. And ofcourse so well written. It was slow and a bit boring too. We only saw the first year of kitan's marriage and first year of arzu's marriage in 25 episodes. That's a lot of episodes. Stories like these should finish in 15 or less episodes. Anyway, it is an important drama.

In all its gist Kankar lies in:
Societal pressure
Toxic mindset
Wrong thinking
Baseless assumptions
Flawed parenting
Lack of empathy
Underestimating woman power.
Kiran is flawless in her words and actions yet she's labeled as one. Though society sees her as 'kankar' she isn't the pain to anyone. Rukhsaar aapa too is seen in the same light but change in situation brings out the kiran' in her mannerisms later.
Faariqa maybe seen as the only 'kankar' but she too gets the chubhan, when Aarzoo suffers.
Sikander is the only other 'kankar' who as a human fails to control the 'kankar' of anger. Kiran's slap was probably the only 'kankar' that the audience did not feel the chubhan of.
Till the 24th episode all the characters brilliantly bring out the 'kankar' imbued in the system. To me, the most beautiful scene is the conversation between Adnaan and her sister.

Superb drama. As good and near to life as it was in 2013. Rather nostalgic, because it is the tale of every second household and married life on this planet. However, in some instances Kiran is replaced by Karan in real life. In the end one thing is sure that Allah is great and always correct, and nothing happens without His Hukam and reason. Humans are His mere puppets!

LoVED iT, Hassan Niazi, Sanam Baloch had a lovely chemistry. FAHAD performed his character to a T, fabulous drama where everyone was a so natural. A difficult topic handled brilliantly by the director.
Theeke both sikander and kiran wer wrong bt sikander can never forget his first love kiran even aftr becoming a father he did mistake by fine he still loves her so muchh nd accepts it ❤
