Yes, Audrey should be in the videos! All 3 of mine are up. The blue was born in Aug 2021. She didn't brumate last year and is still awake. My Chacoan female brumated last year for you, now she is sleeping more, slow tongue flicks, not eating much. She does come out of the hide for attention. She likes hugging, and napping on me. She's my favorite. Dream tegu. The high black male born 4/4/22 is very active, eating, shedding, his normal self. He attempts escape daily! I have not changed the basking temp, the overnight is around 70 to 75 degrees. The lights are on 10 hrs. They live indoors. Thanks for all the info!
Dude this is my first brumation with Betty and I have been stressing so much. Thank you for answering my question. MORE AUDRY !!!! You seemed giddy in todays video Joey. You can see how proud you you are brightly. 😂. Its cute.
I understand where you are coming from this is my first year with my girl brumating and im a nervous wreck i check the temperature multiple times a day im still checking on her about evry 3 days i need to just chill and leave her alone lol
Last year I brumatied my girl in her enclosure. I got it down to 71-72. She slept for 6 months but produced no eggs. Thank you for the tip. I'm gonna put Christmas and cookie in a container and put her in the basement. Hopefully this spring we will have some Christmas cookies. Once again, thank you for the videos. You have some amazing animals.
Audrey you are definitely appreciated in the video! You guys have great energy and make regular education stuff really fun and easy to remember. It would be great to see you in more videos 😊
Yes ! thank you for answering my question ! And also to answer your question I have a super ice blue tegu name frost he went down in October and also I decided to turn of the lights to mimic a burrow like environment
Yes! I would love to have Audrey in more videos! She is such a sweet soul! My first tegu I got, I was told was a black and white 100% albino het tegu, he still has not slowed down at all and actually the past several months I have been having reservations about him actually being a black and white. I think he is actually a blue tegu? But anyways, he is also under a year so i wasn't sure if he just wouldn't brumate this year or if he still will. My albino female I got from you guys is also still eating like normal and sleeping normal as well, she just seems to sleep more than the boy but I am also taking into consideration that she is new and still getting used to us and her enclosure, plus it's super large and she is still small so it might be a little overwhelming for her and take a little longer for her to get used to but she seems to be coming around and coming out more now, so i am leaning more towards that. Thank you so much for this video and i cannot wait for part 2!! 💗
Very helpful! Mine is 4 months and is slowing down. The inside temps have dropped to 65-70 so I'll start cutting back her lights this week. I better clean up that cage a bit and add more soil for her.
You guys were a big help. I was thinking of investing in some tegus next year. Still kind of nervous. It's been hard to sell my turtles and torts consistently and I don't want to be stuck with a bunch of babies, so I think I'll start off slow😂
I have 2 adult blue tegus. They both started getting sleeper and eating less in September even with their lights on. I time their lights with sunrise and sunset in Wisconsin. Both went down in October, so i turned off their lights entirely, and they are still sleeping. My male has been up briefly once that I know of. They are both sleeping when I've checked on them.
My adult blue male is out he naturally went down by himself about the second week of October my female on the other hand did not go down that easy though this is her first cold season had to go through series of light cuts and heat drops and she’s finally slowed down and went under
I have a blue he’s about one I keep indoors year around and from my experience he slows down a ton and goes down even with lights on he comes up to get water and bask occasionally then go right back down
Thanks for this! I appreciate all the information you have given all us. I always look forward to your videos. Would love to see more Audrey too. You guys are wonderful together.
My tegus brumate indoors, in their enclosures, at a temp between 66-68.. lights off, and worries free. I used to put em in tubs, but it just wasn't worth it for me. if I do breed tegus I'll brumate them at lower temps.
How do that my adult rescue Tegu is bromating or dying? He was a rescue (the streets of Nashville TN) so I've only had him since August of this year. He seems to be happy.
Hey Joey, I just got a tri bred tegu from you guys this morning sir, do you think he will brumate or do you think he will stay up the whole time. Thank you so much for your help and the tegu is stunning you guys are masters of your craft and the best customer service i have ever experienced
Hey so I just got a black and white Argentine tegu that’s less than a year old. He went into brumation a month ago and today he’s moving around but still slow. Is he going back into brumation or should I raise the temps and feed him? Appreciate any help.

That was me that told you about using straw instead of hay.
Glad you took my advice and made a mention of it 👊🏼

Experienced, and I will highly recommend you guys to anyone I come across.
Can they brumate inside a blanket? Is that OK?

Wait until you see him consistently for a week. I will cover this more in part two next week.
My blue tegu goes under & he inside the house
Most of our indoor tegus always brumate. However, our one blue Tegu has never brumated. We don't force them to brumate, we let it happen naturally..
Thanks for sharing, that's good info!
