  • Does E85 really generate more horsepower in a Flex-Fuel vehicle? How much horsepower can a VMP Flex-Fuel Tune add?
Watch along as we test this 2018 Flex-Fuel F-150 on 87 octane, 93 octane, and pump E85 . We then add a VMP Flex-Fuel tune to see just how much horsepower we gain!

I called to get a tune for my 2018 F150 spoke with a rep gave them the spec/mods I had said it would be next week till they would be able to convert it over to SCT tuner and to call back (price given at this time was 250 dollars). I called back a week later spoke with the same rep and ask about the tune and he said it was not ready and then asked again what year and what was done to my truck. I gave him the same information again and then said it was going to be 499 dollars. I asked why it's more money and he said it was due to the E85 tune and the first quote was without E85. I said that's a huge difference and then he quoted me again at a lower price 399. PLEASE PROVIDE THE CORRECT PRICE THE FIRST TIME!

Thanks for the video. These are good numbers but nothing that screams "buy me now", not to mention simply using e85 is expected to give a decent bump in performance over 87 anyways. I'm interested in a Tuner but the market seems to mostly want more horsepower and that's just silly to me. The F150 5.0 is built and tuned differently compared to the Stang for obvious reasons. Have you guys experimented with a tune that prioritizes torque gains? I already swapped out the pathetic stock gears for 4.56 but kept stock tires and would love a tuner that gives a substantial increase in torque even if it meant sacrificing horses. There are local forums and websites that post who has the best E85. Does anyone know how it loses its potency? Is it being manufactured this way cause like most GREEDY FUGGING CORPORATIONS, they are trying to maximize their profits by not giving us TRUE E-85. Also since they learned that the performance community started buying E85 instead of expensive fuels like VP and 114 octane TRICK, which i used to run in all my 2 stroke engines, the price of E85 is the same as gasoline. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to see that the higher compression engines of today are making more power, and mileage as well as cleaner burning. You would think these so called enviromentalists would or should demand higher octane fuel be mandated!!!! Imagine if they would make the octane needed what the auto companies could do with even higher compression?

TheGto389 It's not the environmentalists that don't want E85 it's the oil compiles. If all cars ran on that much ethanol it would cut back on oil profits. All new cars could be made to run on E85. The mpg's aren't that good on it and that's all people and regulators look at.
