I can't tell for sure exactly, but in my 2013 I had a steady average with regular fuel ranging anywhere from 14 to 18, depending on temperature and hills. I just did a roughly 50/50 mix of 81 and E85 and it stayed steady at 19 MPG. The trip I took usually burns about a quarter tank total, going to and from. With the 50/50 mix, I passed where I filled up AND got home and was sitting just over 3/4 tank. It's possible that in my case, I'm actually seeing a increase in MPG, but it's too soon to say for sure.

Man, I've got a 2012 F150 with the flex fuel and have never used E85. And I've been modding out my truck lately, I put in a cold air intake and a throttle response booster, ect, and that led me to looking up info about using E85. I watched this video and several others and got way excited to try it out myself. And so I've been driving around a lot to burn out all the regular fuel in my tank...and yesterday it was low enough I started looking for gas stations that have it...after going 0 for 10 I finally had the idea to just Google it and see where I can get it....and apparently there's only 4 fucking stations in Utah that actually have it...but man, I thought I had seen it around before but never really paid attention to it. Apparently I thought wrong and now I'm refilling my tank for $4.30 a gallon and realizing I just waisted a lot of money 😂
GOD. DAMN. IT. It cost me $150 to fill my truck back up and only 3 days ago I had almost 3/4 of a tank...

I just got a 2022 5.0 and it seems to love e85. I haven’t done a tank of pure e85, 10/26 gallons in the tank are e85 and it is running amazing. pulls like hell and I don’t see much of an mpg hit(haven’t done anything scientific). With the amount of e85 in there it should be 94+ octane, definitely some high test stuff. I wonder how much octane the current coyote motors can actually take advantage of stock, beyond that you wouldn’t gain anything from higher octane from the blend, only seeing worse mileage due to the less energy dense fuel. Or maybe it keeps retarding timing all the way until 110 octane or whatever e85 is, the
coyote motors do have high compression so maybe it can use all that octane rating.

Worth it? Depends on how cheap you can get e85, but it likely will be slightly cheaper or a wash. If it is more than 20% cheaper than regular gas, it’s definitely worth it. I like it because the truck runs amazing and e85 greatly reduces my carbon footprint (yes I’m the one guy with a v8 f150 that thinks like this). I often top off the tank with regular when it’s 2/3-3/4 full of e85 when I can’t access e85. I figure that is equivalent to 2 e85 fill ups at different stations with different ethanol concentrations, which happens anyways. Other than that though no complaints with e85. I get like 19 mpg highway cruising in the low 70’s, and 3 mpg when I floor it.

I have a 2015 5.0 supercab xlt 4x4 that I run e85 in quite often. I would say mileage with e85 is 12-15% less than e10 in my pickup. I dont see any difference in mileage between E10 and E zero 87 octane. E85 here (Iowa) was $2.899 when I filled last week. E10 87 octane was $4.199 so E85 is a no-brainer for me. I havent hit the second reset on my f150 for nearly 60,000 miles and it shows an average of 17.1 mpg for a mix of e10 and e85. My pickup has the 3.31 axle. The 2018+ F150s 5.0 with the dual injection and a higher compression can show bigger performance gains with E85.

E85 is 85% ethanol-(up to) blends can vary. Flex fuel and E-85 are synonymous, but blend rates are variable and they give a lot of cushion on percentages. You will begin to see more E-15 pumps available if law changes are made permanent. I fill at the station we buy our farm fuel and pay $1.99 gal for e-85 in South Dakota. We grow corn for feed, milk cows, feed cattle so we use the distillers grains in our rations. In the US about 5.275 B. bushels of corn are used in creating ethanol(40% of typical US corn crop). Each bushel of corn creates 16lbs of distillers grains which are used as feed. Wanted to give a different perspective to the ethanol side.

    No disrespect
E85 is **** unless you want to go faster. Less efficient, makes food prices go up, costs more when decreased economy is taken into account.

There will never be an electric vehicle era as mentioned in the video. Unless you have an answer as to how our enemies the world over will be subdued from taking that out. As it is electric vehicles are powered by fossil fuels currently.
