Solid tips. Especially important to remember, like you said, that lighting in person can feel completely different than it does on camera, so we need to make sure we're configuring our lights for both settings. I feel like things in-room can be sooo much more forgiving than on camera, so it's easy to forget about that!
So true. 👍🏻
Great tips. I use colour in my church to help differentiate the parts of the service. I use teal for opening worship and announcements, red for the pre-message song that normally has a more somber or repentant feel to it, and the blue for the message and response song.
thank you for replying so fast,
Good tips. We have a very bright worship space - big family life center with lots of windows, so managing all aspects of lighting is tricky.
Remember not all rgbw/a/l are built the same. ETC source 4 led use a rgbaw mixing system so its not a need a variable white but how tuned and quality of the leds
SUPER good tips!
The reason why we make so many mistakes is not because we don't know what is best, but because these machines are too expensive, especially in Brazil (my country) and the pastors are usually not willing to invest. Besides, they don't understand anything about lighting and to them anything is good. For us to build the perfect lighting, we would have to pay all the necessary equipment ourselves.
Why do so many churches use pink and purple colors in their lighting as well as the “kaleidoscope” that plays in the background during worship???
I’m only asking because those two colors just seem so dominant these days. Outside of the small old-school churches, I can’t remember the last time I visited a church and didn’t feel like I was at an EDM festival, lol.
Cool tips ❤
Thanks for checking out the vid :)
Also, dont use oil cracked style oil based haze indoors! it will junk up your fixtures and everything it touches, and is not great to breathe in
Church sure is complicated now.
Amazing thumbnail!
Our church used Chauvet R2 RGBW fixtures as key lighting and we recently swapped them out for R2 variable whites and the variable whites actually just look like trash in comparison in person and on camera
Great tips Ryland!! Do you recommend the boulder white variable led light for key lighting? I’m having some issues with my current lights looking at different options
Absolutely!
