    I can speak on the charter and heart of these two guys. Hard to beat Alan and Bailey, BFC is a lucky church to have them on board. As someone who works at another large nazarene church, BFC has set the blueprint for our denomination of how AV integration and room design should be approached. Bravo Guys!

    The Earthworks 3117 vocal capsules he was talking about actually are condensers! I use a wired Earthworks 117 which is the same capsule every week and it sounds fantastic.

    In my area in PA - a local church The Worship Center did a very similar thing with surround speakers and rear-subs on the ceiling. CCI Solutions was the integrator, I believe. They have a video here on YT with some details - "Fix the Room first" is the title. Sounds good - and their room looks so much like this room shown in this video. Only for them, they had a steeper back-section of rows. They also use a DiGoCo board, etc.

    Just came here to say - great breakout session for FILO. It’s going to help me a ton as we are planning to start live-streaming June 9th. I’ve purchased an atem mini pro and have a gh5 and will plan to implement some stuff from our discussion as well as avoid the mentioned.

    33:28 My church uses the same 16 yr old JVC cameras. Of course, we're down to three instead of the five we started with due to a couple dying. Surprised to see them using new and old cameras together. Thought it can be tricky to get the same picture quality.

    Were they saying that they make all of their cables? XLR mic/dmx, cat lines, and power? If so I’d be interested in where they get the cable itself to solder ends on. I’ve been thinking of doing this and building cables to have in storage.

    Great Video as always! Loved every aspect of it. Would we be able to find more about optical thunderbolt solution they're using instead of KVM's? I'm looking into KVM's but after watching this, I'm now on the fence as to if we should invest in this or not. Can we get a link or a make/model of the cable and maybe pricing as well? Thank you!

      @@RylandRussell hey Ryland! would you mind sharing which thunderbolt docks you are using? i am designing a tech booth rack like this, and i like ditching the kvm route for optical thunderbolt. i have a caldigit ts3 in one area of our church, but it isn't used very often so I can't really account for its reliability.

    • @RylandRussell

    Okay, how do you balance the orchestra and pipe organ (a real one? where?) with the choir in the "traditional" service? (timecode around 0:38 ) That must be a real feat of listening skill.
    The most interesting thing for me was no reference to other tech staff or volunteers. If either or both of those guys were killed, the tech ministry would collapse (not really, but there must be a LOT of other people to run things and training and so forth; remember the camp ministry tech guy?).

    • @RylandRussell

      It’s just an mdg with a fan below it.

    • @alanbrown3795
      @alanbrown3795 Před měsícem

      We just tried the hazer in a bunch of different places until we found a spot that worked with natural flow of air in the room and was somewhat concealable. Trial and error with different types of fans until we found a setup that worked ok.

    • @alanbrown3795

    What is the multipin device and cable you use to unhook the drums?

    • @ThatGuyJo
      @ThatGuyJo Před měsícem

      That's just a multipin snake, you can get just about any channel count/length/etc from a few different companies out there like Whirlwind.

    • @alanbrown3795
      @alanbrown3795 Před měsícem +1

      We are specially using Whirlwind Drum drops on our drum kits, but there are tons of options out there for multipin snake cables.

  • @kingfish93

    Could the 'preach TV' ever be wireless??

    • @alanbrown3795
      @alanbrown3795 Před měsícem

      I suppose it would be possible to make it wireless using a wireless video Transmitter/receiver and a UPS on the TV, but it would be more much more expensive, more prone to failure and you would have to make sure it's charged all the time. Far easier to just have a wired TV.

  • @TimothyFish
    @TimothyFish Před měsícem

    All this expensive equipment and then you hear, "Yeah, there's this guy on stage who is running everything," and "we have this computer that we can't power off without it causing problems." (Which doesn't really surprise me with Mac, but still.) It seems like they have a lot of budget and strong space organizing skills, but some of what they do seems risky.
    As for KVM, we just use NDI for KVM but even with the latest version, I don't think that's available for Mac.

    I've been working in live events my entire life, and still cannot fathom how could Churches possibly justify anything like this. All this tech feels and looks so wrong in a church, so oxymoronic, so entirely opposed to any fundamental belief of any sincerely religious community. And yet the Vatican is gilded in gold, so maybe I should not be surprised. I honestly do not understand it. Nice setup guys, love that Digico desk, but maybe ask yourselves if what you are doing makes any sense. Or don't. I just really do not get it
