One thing about a Miata, it may not win all the races, but you'll never get out of the car without a smile. Had a 95' back in the day. Added a supercharger. Never had more fun with a car in all my 50 years of driving.

The Joy of natural aspiration
It definitely sounds faster than it is. Sense of speed in one is better than in a Supra.
Threw a simple axle back in mine (Goodwin Racing Roadstersport Race) and the sound is genuinely amazing. Has an incredible throaty rev to redline and an amazing bassey rumble below 2K. Fits the "angry puppy dog" character of the ND perfectly.
Even while watching this video, it seems that 180 feels like 250+ in this car. No wonder why it's a legendary car!

i got it as a rental when my Mazda 3 was in annual service - what a fun car, even with "only" 186 Horsepower. you can take corners so damn fast, it always feels like glued to the road. if i had the space for a fun car, this would be it - no doubt

Amazing shifts there mate. The car surely can handle the stress. Nice car but it is too small for me. I tried to sit in one but I wouldn't fit in. 6 feet 1 and almost 110kg. Nope.... Maybe I need to lose more weight lol.

8.5s 0-100kmh is for the stock 160 HP automatic version, not this one. The manual version has 7.5s 0-100kmh
And this example with the bbr super 200 kit should do 5.5 secs to 100kmh

it was around ~7.5s in the video and the launch was not perfect. plus 2 shifts that could have been a bit quicker. i guess ~6.2-6.4s would be possible under perfect conditions. but to get below 8s you really have to nail it. its not like in a DSG equipped golf where you hit the manufacturer time basically every time you just stomp the gas.
Can i request?, For further video can u show RPM to, for some people seeing RPM gauge and Speedometer is delight... Thx.

@@albertsuseintsus7355 The amount of detail that can be seen makes it quite visible though despite the size and just having a general idea of where the needle is gives you an idea of his rpm even if you can't clearly see what number is written there as it only goes up to 8

I try some different MX5 ND before buying mine, the stock suspensions are made for old peoples who doesn't want to be bounced even for the soft top version, the car is too high also.
When i buy my ND2 it have K&N coilover / sway bar installed, this is night and day, the car feel so much stable and precise at cornering. I don't try the stock version at high speed (140km/h and more) but my car doesn't bounce and you can cruise at 180/200 km/h. It remind me my E92 330I at high speed, but my car is very low and it have some camber due to the ride height , i think it help a lot

One of the slowest cars on this channel, but for normal day to day driving there is very little that will be as fun. Especially for the price.

Yea it starts to struggle when it gets to around 225-230 it needs a turbo to get past 5k rpm in 6th but if you turbo it you can possibly hit 250kph but if be scared to try that😂

He was at very high rpm and could overrev he didn't need to blip it
@@commandergeokam2868 With revmatching you dont overrev the engine. You match the RPMs with the next lower gear to prevent the car from getting unstable.

@@commandergeokam2868 I don’t think you understand how it works. It’s nothing to do with having peak torque and power in this context. It’s to match the clutch to engine speed, so the clutch doesn’t wear out.

my stock 184hp look as punchy than this one too, maybe the dyno was not really accurate.

6th Gear is just for fuel efficiency it doesnt pull as hard in that gear. Redline in 5th is the top speed of the car

Something seems to be wrong with the ECU Map. It should run a lot faster. The acceleration is the same as stock.

nice smooth top speed run. I've been to 220-260 in my other cars but my ND3 made me hesitate to go over 180kmh, probably the wind noise, the road noise, the weightless feeling or combination of all of them LOL.

Yes it’s NA. The engines and just the total cars of Mazda are pretty reliable.

Mine reaches the 240 on a straight road.
This one barely got to 220.
And in its papers the top speed is 219.
So on the speedometer it should go above 220 even stock.

@@mesuttasdemir4618 wrong 6th is 1:1, the car has no over drive. Also it can go well past the 240kph mark on the dash, but it is very unstable at those speeds. Definitely not meant for that
@@blast3r29 seeing as he's a professional driver, and this is exactly the content that their channel promotes, I too wished he shifted up to 6th. And yes, 6th is 1:1 ratio. No overdrive on the ND trans.
@cruzters Yes, 6th gear is direct drive, 1:1, and depending on air density for one, its top speed is at least 235 kph, simple calculation alone can prove it.
