I remember doing drywall in RSM in the middle to late 80’s when it was first being developed, I’m gonna be in OC this summer and can’t wait to see what it looks like now
They still have the original paths and most of the amenities, but the 241 toll road the RSM Pkwy bridge has allowed better commute in and out of the city.
Thanks, Karl! I still remember first visiting the RSM Home Finder Center (the bell tower building located next to the Arco gas station at Santa Margarita Pkwy and Avenida Empressa ) in 1986. The city was touted as an "urban village" where you could ride your bike to everywhere in town. Everything was brand new back then, with no supermarkets. We had to drive down to Portola Plaza just to go to the Ralphs supermarket. A big relief came when Antonio Pkwy opened in 1988. I remember seeing this episode of 20/20 from 1989. Back then, people would ask me, "Rancho Santa Margarita? Where is that??" See ya around! ~Your next door neighbor.
Nice and Creative Videos, This is really my favorite channle.:). I really glad to see your post and your world was so brilliant. 🌴🌴🌴 excellent and Much appreciated!!🌴🌴🌴 🌴🌴🌴 🌴🌴🌴 🌴🌴🌴 from: Rancho Santa Margarita City Orange
Was an early resident, 1988. Friend of Richard Reese, Jack Wynns, Betty Niven, we'd gather at Richard's house and talk about The Vision. So glad it worked out for all residents. Destined land. however, I've been in exile from California since 1997. Good luck with the socialist state.
Lmao 🤣 why the Asians are great neighbors , just look what they've done with Irvine. They bring industry and big business. They are busy buying out retirement community of laguna woods
Many years later and we have our 10,000's of folks yet we're the safest city in Cali and #3 in the country. I love my RSM.
Best place I've ever lived. Absolutely wonderful.
Great piece, thank you . I moved here when there were 1200 residents, watched it grow to 50k and have never regretted the move:)
Thank you Richard Reese 🙏
