Husqvarna 372XP bad ignition module (cutting out)

In this video I show the behavior of a chain saw with a bad ignition module. I also show how I replace the ignition module and set the air gap on the coil pick up.
I attribute my successes to god and give him the glory.

Great video on a rev limited coil failure. FYI, those screws are 4mm, not 5/32, although there's not but a couple thousands of an inch difference in the two. All the fasteners are metric on that saw.

how did you diagnose it was the ignition and not the carburator ???

Hello. So I was running the saw a few days before this video and I wish I had a video of it then because it was cutting out when i was using it to cut a tree. It was cutting out for a brief second at a time repeatedly and was more defined that in the clip I have, but it was so fast that I didn’t believe the fuel to be the issue because fuel issues are more gradual and not as immediate as I was getting. When it was the worst you could feel it kick every time it cut out leading me to believe if it was a lack of fuel it would still fire just not as hard and this was like it was shutting off for a second and it would come back immediately with power. It could have also been arching outside the cylinder too but the plug wire seemed good. I tried a new plug first but it didn’t fix it so I settled on the ignition module. It was more the speed the symptom occurred
