- "Whiskey In The Jar" - is a Bluegrass arrangement of the classic Irish song made popular by the Irish band Thin Lizzy and later in the USA by the rock band Metallica. Performed by Wild Mountain Band, a Celtic/Bluegrass/Americana band hailing from Colorado, Wild Mountain Band's blend of Bluegrass, Folk, Rock and Celtic music is called "Greengrass". The video was shot at Clancy's Irish Pub, Colorado's oldest and longest running Irish pub established in 1973.

Hey Jack Me Too! Love Thin Lizzy version like every one else but i also like it when a guy picks up his guitar and sings it straight out! This version not so much! A female singing it changes the whole concept of the song! Not saying she'as a bad version but not my cup of tea yea!

Thin Lizzy is the best version if you have seen them live you would agree, this is pretty good though not like Metallica which I think is pretty sh#;e.

I used to go to an Irish-themed pub (lol) in Virginia called the Auld Shebeen. Sometimes they had an Irish band in, and they played this song (the original version, the folk song). Cool to hear a bluegrass version, I do enjoy me some banjos and fiddles.

RENE ! What a great assembly of players! The material is jaunty and enjoyable...my father used to take me to bluegrass festivals! The musicians are all stand-outs. I love the arrangement and the way the song builds as you add the instruments in...THEN you add your sweet/salty taste of your 'FIDDLIN'...Vocals are great and the harmonies add that sweet sprinkle on top.

An Irish song, covered by Metallica. Thin Lizzy 99.5, Metallica 0.5. That is not to say Metallica's version is bad. Far from it, it's awesome. But this is a tune very dear to Irish hearts. So Thin Lizzy all the way.
