Another great thing about fixing the existing paint isn't just price and time. He also won't be scared to drive it. You drop 5 to 10k on a paint job and you spend a majority of time worried to death someone's gonna scratch it.

He used wheel cleaner acid let it sit for like 30-40 seconds then wipe off good to go
Dude....I use acid on aluminum wheels daily. Never had any issues. Key is don't let it dwell for very long

My 70 tbird is the same color as franklins truck. I had very similar results when i cut and buffed it

I'm a big fan of patina. Both my 1967 Ford F-100 SWB and my 1967 Ford Mustang are still wearing their OG paint. I'm not a fan of shiny patina. If you want to shine just paint it.

I prefer polished old paint vs new paint. The anger from a scratch on new paint is something i hate going through 🤮
