If Snellen looks like she's asleep at 10:31 and you can't interact with her, you need to talk to the Jester looking dude who will be sitting in his chair at 10:55 AFTER defeating Radahn. Then go back to Witchbane Ruins, talk to him again, then you can proceed with the quest normally. Took me a while to figure out lol.
Fun fact. If you do patches quest line, he will inform about that ivory maiden. Encourages you to try teleporting stating “it will put you at the base of the Erdtree.
What's even more amazing, is that this guide also shows us how to get to Mt Gelmar relatively easy compared to most videos. Trying to find that place has many players pulling their hair out...
For those who do not find that guy in the church sitting on the chair and the witch in the ruins doesnt talk to you: you have to port to the academy where you fought rennala, behind or in front of rennala (depends on your point of view) is a large door, you need to pass it. then you fight an invasion with her against jerren. after that you have to port to primeevel sorcerrer azurs point, (pretty far up left on the map, you were there once, its where you got the comet azur skill) turn around and there is the set.

if you stand on the VERY left corner of the boulder, the sickle will just keep hitting the side of the rock and the other one with the spinning blades youll be in the middle of the two blades.. hope this helps someone!
This is a great video. Definitely not easy set to get for the new player. It will require you to defeat two main bosses (Rennala and Radan) and medium boss (Loretta) and that invader at the end with Sellen. The sequence of visiting Sellen can also change depending on how you got to Radan - don't get discouraged - the key is to have Jerran visit the body of Sellen by the 4th Church of Marika...
The trick to that cheese spot abductors fight is to make sure the one with the scythes is close as possible to stop it from doing the long range attack.
Can't try to stand back apparently. I thought they patched it, but you have to stand very close to the edge so the one with chain axes doesn't use any long range abilities on you
When I went to go see Jerran at Radahn's area he wasn't there the same as you. After going back to Sellen Jerram wasn't there but I had a spell called "Ambush Shard" on a dead body near Sellen. Continued to Raya and I still had the red and gold summon to chose from.
The cheese worked for me today but only if the bosses were front and center on those rocks. If the claw one was staggered off center, especially to the right, he'd hit me even at the cheese spot.
I never got one hit but I definitely took some damage there even being backed up as far as possible. I also found out I couldn't summon my mimic up there. I died the 1st time but 2nd time was fine. All in all it's a good spot if you have enough hp/resistance to not get one hit. And just spam as fast as possible. Definitely recommend throwing down a summon before jumping up there though for a bit of distraction.

But yes GO BACK TO THE REDMANE CASTLE (hopefully AFTER you've already defeated General Radahn and Finished Ranni's questline) Keep walking til you find a jester-like mage looking dude sitting in a chair in a dark room. THEN go back to Sellen where you have to meet her at the ruins near Ranni's castle thing. Then it should trigger the rest of the quest. Good luck!
What might have happened that prevents me from speaking to Sellen at Three Sisters (under the dragon)? I get to the secret room and she's just standing there, hanging her head.

I found the fix, I had to exhaust all of Jerren’s dialogue in Redmane Castle after beating Radahn, I exhausted his dialogue at the weeping peninsula after for good measure too
5:24 or kill the Worm and speak with Alexander who's nearby if you have his quest too, he's standing on the left side in the magma (just follow his screams) and you will get fire dmg, so be careful 😁

Had the game since lauch. Decided to jump in but stopped right at the first knight boss in the beginning. One of the best guide to get Azur Comet! I was really having a hard time finding it and the trick to beat that boss was really good. My question is that Sellen is not in the cellar and hasn't been for a while so I'm not too sure how to talk to her or progress her questline?

You mean glintstone dragon adula at three sisters? Thats normal. He will teleport away at half health and you will be able to kill him after you progressed enough in rannis quest. To the point where you get access to the plateau in the southwest corner on liurnia of the lakes. He will be there at the manus celes cathedral

I can’t speak to Sellen at the location by Ranni’s Rise. I have received Sellen’s Primal Glintstone, but nothing happens when I approach her at her next location. She just stands there lifelessly. Has anyone else had this problem? Great guide by the way
@@dscxshockz im stuck here too. The chained Sellen faded when i spoke to her, and she is no longer at the original spot. At the new location she is just standing with her head drooping.
it works if you get in just the right spot... a touch left of center of upper rock "plateau" and all the way back against the wall.. the ranged "throw" will just miss you to the right.
For some reason i cant pull the hidden soul out of her, even though ive got both spells and followed the mission exactly, he isn't sitting on the chair and he isn't in the cave, very annoying any ideas
@@Aahe42 yeah me too. I did unlock the sorceress teacher first by defeating the boss (I dint know got this quest line at first ). Then I proceed exploring the map and found another of her locked up. She did not speak of any quest.
I've done everything mentioned. Went and fought two bosses to get to the main church. He wasn't sitting in the chair. Went to main soul area still not there. Any ideas?
One of the best quest walk through... If for someone the forth and back with Sellen and the Radmane King Dude doesn´t work. Go first to Radans Castle, talk to him, then go to the forth church of Marica, talk to him again. And then head to the Ruins near Rannis Tower and give Sellen her Soul back.
First part of this isn’t necessary. If you can get there, you can start her quest chain simply by talking to her after you get the comet azur spell off of the dudes body.
@@savageanims1408 i managed to fix it, i went to the guy portecting the castle after beating Radhan. and after that i unlocked Sellia Town. IDK if that had any impact but it worked for me:)
The whole quest line is bugged. Legit made two different characters and the same thing happened at different points. The first one I couldn't find Jerren anywhere and this was after fighting Starcorge And the second one I couldn't give Stellen the freaking soul crystal at all
it's the best looking set, but not the best set. There is no best set in this game. The helm is good if you're using the comet azur build otherwise the +6 intelligence helm is better. The chest armor is probably best just for what you get defense wise without weighing a ton. The gloves are terrible and should be switched out with something like the nobles gloves, and there is no boots so wearing nobles boots is a good choice as well.
Another good one is the Navy Hood. It increases Mind and it also looks really good. It matches well with the Preceptor’s Long Gown, and the Confessor gloves and boots.

HAAAAALP I've defeated Radahn, I have received Sellens Primal Glindstone, and I've reached the ruins and her other "body" but she just keeps her head down and doesn't look up nor can i prompt her to talk. In the middle of this quest I went to the church of vows and atone for my sins... maybe that fucked it up? How can i fix this??? Any advice would be SO greatly appreciated ❤
1) do you have to have advanced to a particular stage in the story to do this quest? (I’m just making my way through storm veil castle) 2) is there a recommended level for this? (I’m lvl 45) Cheers for the guide!
Fun fact, if you Kill Jaron when you find him at her body’s location, you skip the invasion part of this quest 😬 was worried I couldn’t get the armor set but she just goes from The ruins out by rannis straight to the academy.
WARNING: If you choose to go against Sellen in the last fight then the bodies never get picked up and you can't get the armor sets I thought she picked them up before heading to the Library and she obviously hadn't (which was dumb of me) just thought I'd let ya'll know
I actually panicked for a minute because in the video he goes to the right side and the message on the floor was GOLD. My message on the right was RED but I still went again jerren or whatever his name is.

I play Mage as my main and don't use any mage armour sets like Azur to T. I use normal armour, right now that being scaled armour. Besides the increase to Focus and Vitality, I find physical resistance to be more useful, and even the scaled armour has better magic, fire, lightning, and holy resistance than Azurs. Can anyone explain if I am missing something?

This quest is broken for me. I can't save her or talk to her in the two other locations. I've tried absolution at the church of vows and it says I don't need it. I don't understand. I followed this video to the letter.
You might need to do two things. Number 1: Go talk to the Old Jester guy back at the Festival. May need to exhaust all his extra dialogues. I’m not really sure if whether if this is required, but just in case. Number 2: Go back to the Waypoint Ruins Cellar. You’ll realize that the wizard lady is gone. I’m not sure why the game requires you to go check there and realize that… but, you had too. Once that’s all done, you can now go back and follow what the video says.
So I finished raya lucaria quest line, I killed radahn and I talked to jerren and exhausted the dialogue but the two platforms that I’m supposed to choose from are not showing up
I accidentally hit Sellen trying to fight enemies after extracting her glintstone and I killed her, now I can’t continue my dialogue with her in the new body
Loved the guide especially how u showed all the hidden spots and dors… however next time mention in the beginning that u need to beat the boss for it to work otherwise great job 💪
Just FYI you cannot advance quest to the point of getting Sellen's soul until after defeating Scar Scourge Radan boss in Redmane Castle.

I managed to end this quest without even going to the 4th church. No idea why.

The ai is weird. Sometimes they figure it out sometimes not. Luck of the run.

May need to keep talking to jerren I had the same thing but I went back and talked ad then it was there

You mean glintstone dragon adula at three sisters? Thats normal. He will teleport away at half health and you will be able to kill him after you progressed enough in rannis quest. To the point where you get access to the plateau in the southwest corner on liurnia of the lakes. He will be there at the manus celes cathedral
You can also dodge/roll on the hidden floor access locations. Jumping never worked for me.
I can’t get Sellen to speak to me under the hidden floor by Ranni’s Rise. Any idea why? I killed Rhodan, spoke to Jerrel, retrieved the soul. I can’t figure it out

@@ttngeo7494 I posted on Reddit and they’re saying I need to speak to Jerren first (allowing him to kill her at the witchbane location). I haven’t done that yet but makes me nervous since @Cloud Plays did it in the reverse order in this video
You can also get the armor from the mage's body in the crystal cave. If you prefer that I believe it's similar

I can’t speak to Sellen at the location by Ranni’s Rise. I have received Sellen’s Primal Glintstone, but nothing happens when I approach her at her next location. She just stands there lifelessly. Has anyone else had this problem? Great guide by the way

@@dscxshockz im stuck here too. The chained Sellen faded when i spoke to her, and she is no longer at the original spot. At the new location she is just standing with her head drooping.

i'm stuck at the guy in the chair, he is not there and neither with the girl stucked in the wall... dunno what to do.
Cheese spot doesn't work well at least for me on ps4 the axe one just launches its chains and can still get you there
it works if you get in just the right spot... a touch left of center of upper rock "plateau" and all the way back against the wall.. the ranged "throw" will just miss you to the right.
You gotta focus the axe one and dodge right and then jump back up when she does that
Use a shield to block chain attack

For some reason i cant pull the hidden soul out of her, even though ive got both spells and followed the mission exactly, he isn't sitting on the chair and he isn't in the cave, very annoying any ideas

yes it works they do hit you if they swing around their arms so have heals ready
After getting stars of ruins spell (the 2nd spell) , there is no additional quest from the sorceress teacher. The conversation end there.

@@Aahe42 yeah me too. I did unlock the sorceress teacher first by defeating the boss (I dint know got this quest line at first ). Then I proceed exploring the map and found another of her locked up. She did not speak of any quest.
I've done everything mentioned. Went and fought two bosses to get to the main church. He wasn't sitting in the chair. Went to main soul area still not there. Any ideas?
To add on to this you also have to complete rannis quest line before you can do this
One of the best quest walk through... If for someone the forth and back with Sellen and the Radmane King Dude doesn´t work. Go first to Radans Castle, talk to him, then go to the forth church of Marica, talk to him again. And then head to the Ruins near Rannis Tower and give Sellen her Soul back.
First part of this isn’t necessary. If you can get there, you can start her quest chain simply by talking to her after you get the comet azur spell off of the dudes body.
Anyone know why she doesn’t start the dialogue after I get the shard of her heart and go to hidden room by rennis rise?

@@savageanims1408 i managed to fix it, i went to the guy portecting the castle after beating Radhan. and after that i unlocked Sellia Town. IDK if that had any impact but it worked for me:)

Sooo I think they patched the bosses because they definitely have a ranged attack that can hit you when you’re on top of the rocks.

The whole quest line is bugged. Legit made two different characters and the same thing happened at different points.
The first one I couldn't find Jerren anywhere and this was after fighting Starcorge
And the second one I couldn't give Stellen the freaking soul crystal at all
it's the best looking set, but not the best set. There is no best set in this game. The helm is good if you're using the comet azur build otherwise the +6 intelligence helm is better. The chest armor is probably best just for what you get defense wise without weighing a ton. The gloves are terrible and should be switched out with something like the nobles gloves, and there is no boots so wearing nobles boots is a good choice as well.
Another good one is the Navy Hood. It increases Mind and it also looks really good. It matches well with the Preceptor’s Long Gown, and the Confessor gloves and boots.
You should only be using +stat helms early game. By end game you should have all your stats at soft cap and can focus armor elsewhere.
Small question, I can’t find jaren anywhere, not at Radhan or at the original soul, anyone know why?

Go back to the Chamber Outside the Plaza and fight the 2 bosses and then go back to Sellens dead body and the dialogue should change

Hi just tried that cheese spot and I think they have patched it as the dude with axe for hands killed me 3 times with his ranged attack
You just have to be careful. What I did was go there and do some damage then bait them out of the corner and do it again
just use lhutel summon ash

I've defeated Radahn, I have received Sellens Primal Glindstone, and I've reached the ruins and her other "body" but she just keeps her head down and doesn't look up nor can i prompt her to talk. In the middle of this quest I went to the church of vows and atone for my sins... maybe that fucked it up? How can i fix this???

1) do you have to have advanced to a particular stage in the story to do this quest? (I’m just making my way through storm veil castle)
2) is there a recommended level for this? (I’m lvl 45)

You have to beat radahn which is a little advanced from 45 maybe 60ish

@@pepperjack3777 i ran around him and activated the grace site before he hit me, then rested, once i came out of rest they’d all de agro’d..
FYI u can no longer hide on the rock and attack. They will mess u up.

Fun fact, if you Kill Jaron when you find him at her body’s location, you skip the invasion part of this quest 😬 was worried I couldn’t get the armor set but she just goes from The ruins out by rannis straight to the academy.
WARNING: If you choose to go against Sellen in the last fight then the bodies never get picked up and you can't get the armor sets
I thought she picked them up before heading to the Library and she obviously hadn't (which was dumb of me) just thought I'd let ya'll know
I actually panicked for a minute because in the video he goes to the right side and the message on the floor was GOLD. My message on the right was RED but I still went again jerren or whatever his name is.

I love that my friends prefer melee - they get to power stance Bloodhound Fang and Reduvia and I can have the sparkly feathered pretty robes, lol!

I’m at the the last step at Raya Lucaria Library and I don’t see the red and gold things. I’ve defeated Rennala, what else do I need to do?
I play Mage as my main and don't use any mage armour sets like Azur to T. I use normal armour, right now that being scaled armour. Besides the increase to Focus and Vitality, I find physical resistance to be more useful, and even the scaled armour has better magic, fire, lightning, and holy resistance than Azurs. Can anyone explain if I am missing something?
I'm using ranni's armor set
Don't forget to return to Lasats corpse to get his armor set as well.
If you don’t see Jerran @ either place, just move ahead and you will still be able to invade

U can get Lusats armor in the cave u met him first... It has better defensive stats then Azurs
This quest is broken for me. I can't save her or talk to her in the two other locations. I've tried absolution at the church of vows and it says I don't need it. I don't understand. I followed this video to the letter.
You might need to do two things.
Number 1:
Go talk to the Old Jester guy back at the Festival. May need to exhaust all his extra dialogues. I’m not really sure if whether if this is required, but just in case.
Number 2:
Go back to the Waypoint Ruins Cellar. You’ll realize that the wizard lady is gone. I’m not sure why the game requires you to go check there and realize that… but, you had too.
Once that’s all done, you can now go back and follow what the video says.

For some reason in rannis rise im not able to talk to sellen she looks dead standing up and I can’t do anything.
Yeah same for me, tried reloading the area and nothing fixed it.
So I finished raya lucaria quest line, I killed radahn and I talked to jerren and exhausted the dialogue but the two platforms that I’m supposed to choose from are not showing up
I accidentally hit Sellen trying to fight enemies after extracting her glintstone and I killed her, now I can’t continue my dialogue with her in the new body
