Excellent instructions! Just as you indicated....QUICK & EASY. Just the right tutorial for us that needed to refresh our knowledge on how to do it.Thanks for sharing this video...I found everything I needed to help a friend by re-using an oldie laptop with a CD driver (rarely to find now).
Windows Media Player is one of the hardest applications to learn how to use. If you start Media Player with the CD already in the drive you will never find how to rip it. You have to pop it out and then pop it back in for Media Player to suggest ripping it. It is (I believe) an intentionally difficult program to use.
I just downlaoded WMP to my new PC, and it looks nothing like this It doesnt seem to have any of th eoptions you used, just a "rip" button which rips them to W4A format (or something) and stores them in a folder but doesnt seem to want to tell me where that is... Do i Need an OLDER version of WMP? Microsoft doing what it does best, giving you new versions with less options, customization and functionality
It is so long since since I have done this I forgot all about it. I thought the drivers weren't working on a new PC tower I bought. Tried on a laptop I just did a factory reset on as it has a disc drive. MANY THANKS. HAVE A GOOD 2024
i have 0 idea why this happens, but it gets all the information wrong! I ripped all my cds only to find all the names, authors, and composers were not at all correct! Can someone please give me a fix, i cannot for the life of me find an answer
You didn’t mention that you can un tick the green check mark next to any track that you don’t want to copy and WMP will bypass them in the copy process.
Strange, the "change" button under "Rip Music" menu, (To say where to save) doesnt bring up a directory window as per your video, so I cant change the save-to directory. Bummer!
I don't mind WMP. But now, with the Windows 11 update, the "Rip CD" function is gone! WTF? Also, I seem to have lost my saved album cover art for my ripped songs too. How is this an upgrade?
WMP is terrible for ripping, it doesn't even tell you in detail how the rip went. What kind of oversight is that? You're better off using Exact Audio Copy or CueRipper for this purpose.
not really, wmp comes built in to most if not all computers that runs windows, And details like how the ripping went is only for tech-savy individuals.
@@Waxiers In 2022 we know for a fact that 3rd party options tend to massively surpass defaults as they _aren’t_ made by one company that has to make defaults for _many_ different application types which inhibits their ability to focus on one. No MS default is better than a 3rd party (Office doesn’t count as it’s a paid product). Now if you can’t be bothered to go out of your way to install and learn a 3rd party program, that’s your own problem, don’t convince others who may want better to do the same.
The gift that keeps on giving...I've used this clip so much to remind me how to do it. Thank you again 😁🏴
Excellent tutorial.
I'm a programmer and software developer but this is the type of work that i "suck" doing.
Thanks for the help.

I'm glad I found this video. I used another program Anyburn and it took at least an hour if not 2 to rip one CD.
Thanks!!! I replaced my CD player in my car with a modern day head unit.
Quick, concise explanation! Bonus points for using a Jeff Lynne (ELO) CD!!!

Love it, the metadata works on this unlike EAC. Cheers great video.
Awesome. Very easy. Thank you for sharing this.
Really useful, thank you so much! I found Exact Audio Copy to be too complicated for me to mess our with code to get mp3s
Wow thanks. Very easy to follow. Thank you so much 😁🙏
You’re welcome 😊
Thank you. Very clear instructions.
You are welcome!
Does this work on DVD's?

Clear and concise! Many thanks!
Thank you for the walk through
How do you get that "rip" tab to come up? When I open WMP I just get the option to just play the CD. What am I doing wrong?
You just helped me man...thankssssss
Thank you, it was a great help.

Windows is making everyone migrate from Media Player to whatever the new player is. That actually started with the 10 free upgrade.
Good that they did ripping it’s kinda illegal
@@damianfolk7566 no. Ripping for personal use IS legal. It’s the selling of the rips that are illegal.
Any idea how to rip the whole CD to a single file?
Very good. Love ELO too
Thank you so much
Thanks !
Why can’t I hear my music? Everything else worked perfectly.
