Steve buddy, that grading bucket is perfect for that backfilling job.
I agree! As an ex Manufacturing Quality Assurance Manager… it is rare to find a ‘fast’ worker who safely performs at a high quality level. Most sacrifice either safety, quality or equipment in their drive for speed.
But, every once and a while you run into a speedy worker whose skills, awareness and mental agility are honed to the point where they can perform at a high rate of speed… we always considered them super stars. But, they were as rare as sighting Sasquatch riding a Unicorn!!!
😂. “Sasquatch riding a unicorn”. I’m gonna have to borrow that from you. I love it . Thanks for watching and I agree with you 100%
@@DirtBrute you are welcome to it… a buddy of mine once said it when I drew a straight flush on poker night… 🤓

A job is a job but jobs like this one are TIGHT Quarters and I guess you see a lot of that where you work. That's why machines come in different sizes. I like how you're proactive on all the precautions. Probably why your phone rings for more WORK and that's always good, this video was good, see you on the next & have a super weekend!
Thank you sonny . Catch you on the next one !
“This ain’t Hollywood and it’s like 7 something in the morning”
Funny stuff! 😀🤣😂
😂 yeah I’m not a morning person. Thanks for watching!
Job well done...i notice you need to weld your grading bucket which an easy job to do at your garage ...keep up the good work and good luck. 8:36
Yes it needs some work . Thanks for watching!
In my region you can't possibly build an addition with engineered drawings without multiple footing/foundation inspections and approved signoffs with inspection cards and stamped plans being mandatory and often visibly available to see onsite by all subs and surprised you cannot even make a phone call to get an answer or approval.
"I don't know." is just not an acceptable answer to your question of whether rebar is in the foundation.
I don’t need to call anyone and I don’t need to know if there’s rebar in it or not. I’m confident enough to assess the situation without making phone calls, bugging anyone. Regardless, if it has rebar or not, it was signed off for backfill by the inspector. That means it needs to be backfilled no matter what is in it . Making a phone call does not change anything. I’m still going to be careful.
I work around a lot of 8” poured walls in our area. Typically they have #5 bar 2’ each way and hold up really well but I still don’t compact backfill unless it’s a slab on grade (both sides). Once they go over 8’ high or longer than 35’, they usually go to 10/12”.
Yeah . I agree. Not sure why but the last one we did the concrete guy said they designed it with no rebar. It was a big fight because he was refusing to pour it without the bar but the homeowner who is building it didn’t want to pay for it because the engineer said it wasn’t required. In the end, the concrete guy won .
How come you didn't use your six wheeler to haul material in
He only wanted to pay for my machine work that day, trucking is a separate rate
Great video
Is your machine a 5 ton yanmar?
I think they way you did is good.
It is a Komatsu PC 40mr-2

I wasn't sure with the blue
Nice machine
Interesting no footer drain or gravel on the out side of addition.
Nope not needed . It’s sitting on sand .
In Ohio where I dig basements and add. that is code sand or not things are different every where.@@DirtBrute
In Ohio where I dig basements and additions it is code interesting how codes are different.@@DirtBrute
@@DustyGroundHog yes, it’s definitely interesting How different areas do things. Here it is up to whoever engineers the project. I’ve done some where the engineer called for it because it was an out of town engineering firm . They say around here depends on ground, water, level and type of soil. Thanks for watching.
Why don’t you promote the gravel company who is supplying you with material?
