  • *** Onions, garlic, potatoes, beer brats, BEER, peppers olive oil and some herbs are all you need to make a seriously tasty one pot beer brat while out camping.
Down at the bushcraft camp, i cook up some lunch over the campfire. 1 Pot Beer Brats are a simple meal with an easy recipe anyone can make. It does take roughly 30 minutes of simmering to fully cook, but it is worth the wait.

I think your brief absence and return has made your new videos priority watches for me. I subscribe to a few bushcraft channels, but yours stands out. Making fires, cooking food, and enjoying it all in solitude among Mother Nature. That’s the winning combo. I hope you do make more cooking videos. Those are my favorite. Keep up the great work!

I feel ya on the outdoor cooking. Often times those moments are my favorite part of a camp video. I don't know how to describe it either, there is just something natural and homey about cooking over a fire in a camp. I like fishing videos like Joe and Doug have. Catch and cook.

for the burn at the bottom I was thinking maybe if you had a tiny grid in bottom of the pot to keep the food off the bottom, like a centimeter or two, and just have the beer sauce down there boiling, that might save you from burn at the bottom of the pot

I agree with you about cooking over a wood fire. Nothing tastes better! I also agree with you about loving the winter weather as opposed to the summer weather in Ohio. I much prefer to be in the woods and camping in the cold weather verses the heat and humidity of the summer in Ohio. I lived near the Lake Erie shoreline for many years, then moved to Oklahoma. I would really enjoy going back to Ohio!

That is a favorite of mine down here in Texas O'. You are correct on putting the peppers and onions in later if you want any left whole. I do like to put carrots in the pot and maybe turnips also in a pinch. Whole mushrooms adds well to the pot. Love the snow , not much snow here and that is sad because I like snow in its season. Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work.

Use snow to make a table. It's a HACK! It'd be interesting to see some snowcraft to use while camping or cooking food. I recently did my first real over a campfire cooking with Breakfast Burritos. Before I did it with Hobostoves to cook some meals outdoors. Over the campfire is almost like multitasking while out there cooking because you gotta make sure to not burn your food, keep the fire going, make sure it is either hot enough to cook or if it's too hot, and plenty of different factors. For me that time it rained the whole night before and the wood was soaked. Luckily, I found a little bit of dry wood to get it started and I had a big chunk of Fatwood to keep it going. Yet, I couldn't get a good bed of coals as well so I just cooked on the flames. After cooking the first part of the meal and put it on the plate the aroma of the food caught me off guard. It was an awesome time and I definitely recommend cooking over the campfire!
