  • We install (with some minor troubles) my new exhaust tip for my ATV four wheeler. It gives the muffler a meaner sound with a deeper tone and should help cool exhaust gases.

    Hey Bob, we just got off the Hatfield-McCoy trails and the right side exhaust routing was HOT! Can't believe the heat shield works keeping the plastic from melting. Is there anything that can be done to further shield the heat from our right leg while riding? Fiberglass matting with fiberglass cloth covering it stuff around the 2021 Touring exhaust pipe? Will it burn or catch fire if done?

    Seems like the stock spark arrester would be better long term, more surface area, won’t clog as fast. Is the muffler output diameter as large as the whiskey bent diameter? If not, wouldn’t the back pressure be the same?

    I have a 2021 600 which design is same as yours. I put same muffler attachment on mine yesterday and it hits the silver heat protector for rear bumper/tail light. Yours looks to be few inches away from it. Wonder why mine is touching it. So I could use the attachment

    Your microphone is lacking to be honest. It really doesn’t do the new exhaust tip just. I watched the same upgrade with a guy who used a boom style microphone and it sounds completely different. That exhaust tip is an awesome upgrade and definitely gives it a much better sound. It’s beefier and more throaty, but not in an obnoxious way. It’s really not much louder, but it sounds way better. Good video on the install. God bless and hope you’re enjoying your quad 👍

    • @whataboutbob4763
      @whataboutbob4763  Před 3 lety

      Hi there, This is the 90. I ordered the 45 because it was a little less money and he sent me the 90 in its place because he said it's a better fit. I don't know what the sound difference would be as I've never heard a 45 but I can definitely say that the fit is better mainly because it directs the hot exhaust down to the ground instead of back at the plastic bumper assembly. Early on I had someone comment about somebody having one of these and it melting the back plastics. I'm assuming they had a 45° one and this is why he doesn't ship anybody the 45 anymore. Best of luck.

    • @whataboutbob4763
      @whataboutbob4763  Před 3 lety +4

      Hello, After the clutch kit I installed. (Video to come) it lowered the average RPMs down some. I'd say cruising is near 5000. The biggest difference it made is that it now starts moving and responds at a much lower RPM. Where before it was at 6500 RPMs just to go 5 to 10 mph. It made a huge difference. The kit I have is from AirDam clutchs. They'll ask all about your four wheeler, riding habits, etc, and customize the kit for your needs. It was pretty easy to install and surprisingly inexpensive, around $120.

      It definitely makes it sound beefier. I didn't notice any kind of performance change. And going with the 90° tip I haven't had any issues with any of the plastics melting.
