Finally a simple and detailed video! Thank you!!!
Well... I have to say... not too many videos I watch all the way through... you guys did an EXCELLENT JOB of showing, narrating and giving good advice (tape bolts to areas where bolts go) -- I'd have a cup 1/2 full of excess bolts putting it back together. Well done... and THANK YOU! I have a 21' touring 600 and XC800 that are both around 250 miles and need to have this done on them now. Much appreciated!
Glad we could help! Thanks for watching and giving us some feed back!
I got a 2021 600 Touring and just did my valve adjustment. I got all the information I needed from this video so thanks for that! For anyone that's about to tackle this, here's one improvement to the procedures that will save you some time. You don't have to take off the side panels from the tank cover. Leave them on the tank cover and it comes out as one piece. The whole job was easier that I thought. The only thing that was hard for me were those pesky push clips!🤣
BTW, both my intake and exhaust measured 0.009in. before adjustment. Adjusted them down to 0.005 and 0.006 respectively.
Some engineer hot paaaaaiiiddd designing the way those plastics are held in there. 😂.
Assembly Worker: “Hey, are you sure we need 392 bolts and fasteners to hold these plastics in place?”
Engineer: “yep. Why, do you think we need more?”
😂
PRO TIP, always tighten the lock nut tot he point you can just move the adjuster screw, this way you don't disturb the final adjustment when locking it down. greatly increases accuracy while minimizing frustration.
Good video gave me confidence to do my own it’s all about saving $$$
Nice job guys, thanks for this!
Thanks for the vid! A shortcut with those pain in the ass screws is to assemble the 2 side panels to the gas tank cover and put all 3 pieces on at the same time. That way you can put the screws in out in the open.
Thanks for this. Just the instructions that I needed
Always recheck gap with feeler gauge after tightening lock nut!
Great video
Thanks a lot guys very well explained
Is there a torque spec on the lock nut and do you use lock tight?
Cool 👍👍👍
What if there is not gap
How did you know it was at PDC
What led you to adjust the valves?
It was having backfire issues, plus the owner manual calls for the valves to be checked at 20 hours or 200 miles. This machine had met both requirements to have the valves checked
I got a 2022 500, when should I check them and are the specs the same as the 600? Thank you
😂
Why are you commenting if you no so much
@tek1234565789 when Did I say I knew so much? Lol I was just asking a question. I also did a video on doing valve checks after I looked the specs up. 🤷♂️🤣
You should have started the vehicle after completing adjustment
