'Things will never be the same again' Can Liverpool thrive after Jurgen Klopp leaves? | BBC Sport - Sport
1:15 This quote perfectly explains what Klopp means to Liverpool. To be a Liverpool manager is more than just being a coach. Theres the expectation to connect with the city, the fans, to understand their history and the values, and to really embody what it means to be a Red. Klopp understood that, and he embraced it. Not only has he lived up to the expectations and delivered on his promise of winning the league, he has gone above and beyond to become part local culture. It doesnt just feel like a manager leaving the job, it feels like saying goodbye to an uncle or a friend.
The new manager has to win games, titles. That's it.
A manager who brought a unique and refreshing approach to everything at LFC . His personal qualities set new standards in football management , as well as bringing great joy to many thousands of the Liverpool faithful . For this , we owe him eternal gratitude .
Jürgen is a friend that I will always cherish in my Heart ❤️.
Or in a more accurate way he isn’t.
@@FunkyMonk6 😂😂😂😂😂
The shock of Klopp leaving reminds me personally of a young kid being interviewed in Liverpool when Shankly left, the news was almost unbelievable.
Klopp is an amazing human being, no manager ever will have his charisma and the bond he not only had with the players but the fans, the city and the culture of Liverpool. He is the greatest manager the premier league has seen, He may not of won more trophies than other managers but they didn’t have what Jurgen has, you will never hear of players or ex players saying they were badly treated by him unlike certain managers who work 32 miles away!!
We will miss you Jurgen!
MY EMOTIONS! MY EMOTIONS!!!
Cannot believe he's leaving, still
I miss Jurgen already 🥹
Jurgen and I have been best mates. But we have never met each other I've only seen him from the stands. Makes old men cry 😭 and laugh at the same time. I was so happy after a trip to Liverpool in 2022 (after CL semi at home) when he signed until 2026. BUT thanks for all the chapters in your book and we look forward to the last chapter in the best book that has ever been written. Klopp at Liverpool FC 2015-2024. Boss Tha!
Legend ❤️
Klopp is irreplaceable. Among the greatest managers Liverpool ever had. The new manager that is to come will find a team which represents one of the top sides of Europe. When Klopp took this team, Liverpool was bang average. It is not the players that he brought in or turned into world class. His greatest contribution at Liverpool is the elite mentality he brought to this club not the trophies won.
They finished 5th last season
Good manager, but he wasn't Shankly, Paisley or king Kenny. The old story, compare the trophies won, Klopp lost too many finals to be the greatest ever at Liverpool.
It would be awful to win just one trophy for Klopps last goodbye
@@JamesEvans-uh7nuoh shut up. How many managers leave their clubs with a final trophy let alone multiple trophies in their last season?
@@kevram7901 To finish 5th in one of the worst season of Liverpool under him and to come back the next season challenging for the title with an entire new midfield is not elite mentality?
Haven’t been the same since Klopp announced it. Respect it 💯. People compare trophies etc but no other fanbase will feel the loss of their managers as personally as we do for Klopp. That says it all. YNWA Norbert 👊🏽
Things will never be the same regardless which Manager comes and goes, life goes on, Liverpool will go on and the next Manager needs the same support the Fans have given Klopp
What a manager! What a human! Thanks a million, Jürgen Klopp. ❤🇩🇪
We was never going to replace shanks and then Paisley either , we will badly miss him but we will also move on . He’s up there with shanks and Bob now though as an absolute Liverpool legend .
😢 like shankley, klopp is Liverpool forever, what a beautiful human he is, he's like everyone's dad I for sure will miss Jurgen but my love for him will last a lifetime ❤YNWA he embraced that and brought us back to where we should be ❤❤
It’ll be less fun being a Liverpool fan.
Being a manager of LFC is not just about managing the football club, it includes managing the city and the club's global fanbase.
Larger than life characters like Klopp are one in a billion, that's why we should not expect anything to be the same after he departs.
I have a massive regard for Klopp. His love , passion and energy I have never witnessed before. He gave Pool their belief and love back.
Millwall fan. 🦁
Nobody bigger than the club but Shankly Paisley Kenny and now Jurgen are like four massive pillars holding up the foundations of this collosal club. They part of the club forever now. Thanks for everything boss. YNWA
He is emotion❤
I will cry
I'm crying watching this
Thank u klopp for everything
the team klopp is leaving behind is very good with nice blend of youth and still fighting at the top, new coach wont have to do a complete overhaul so its not the same as moyes or unai emry experiences just drilling new coaching methods and way of playing and bring in one or two players of his own choosing
The only bit of comfort from this is that Klopp said he wouldnt leave unless he thought Liverpool would be alright afterwards.
Klopp rebuilt Liverpool but we've only won one league title since he came, so lets not presume things cannot get better post jurgen.
Definitely go down as a fantastic manager and added to trophy cabinet, Klopp was lucky to find Liverpool. So just get behind the next boss who could win multiple league title. ❤
Will be interesting to see. Personally it’s a hard job to follow and I can us dropping off abit. In logic that team shouldn’t realistically move from where it is and where it’s been in success recently so if it did then ownership needs to take responsibility. Klopps built it so Maintain it and keep it secure. In my mind the new manager cannot fail much really the squad is there and it’s good crop of players who love the club and that so for me he can’t fail and if he did shows he’s not yet ready for it.
The legend we Will miss you
Think it will be a benefit. He restored the pride of the club. Now we need a younger manager to evolve us further and hopefully bring more control to pur play
The energy and the way He engages fans is second to none, Yes we may find a good manager but Klopp is irreplaceable
Klopp is unique but you will be surprised with Ruben Amorim as well.
Well things were good after shanks and yes i put jugen in the same category as shanks
Maybe they’ll win the league more than once in the next 34+ years
Top LAD Proper Klopper 💪😉👍
Guardiola is a winning machine of a manager but he doesn't connect with fans and the city of Manchester like Klopp does with us.
I read somewhere recently Klopp saying, some managers collect trophies, he collects relationships, or something to that effect. Yes, he wants to win but it's more than that. It's giving people hope, not just in sport but in life. It's bringing heart, passion and a sense of belonging to people and Klopp has done that at Anfield, in Liverpool and the premier league as a whole.
Opposition fans are going to miss him and that says it all.
The same couldn't be said of Fergie and I don't think the same will be said of Pep when he leaves Man City.
Re the next manager. I wouldn't be surprised if FSG and Edwards go for a man who is not currently being touted by the media. It wasn't a dead cert of who we were going for when Rodgers went if I recall correctly???
Interestingly, I had been following Klopp's performance at Dortmund, and I was very impressed. So, I remember saying to my football buddies that I wished Liverpool could get a coach like Klopp to Liverpool. You can imagine my joy when I heard Klopp was actually joining Liverpool. The rest is history...
The league title has gone , pulling back that 3-0 is the only thing to pulling back a frustrating few games when Liverpool have had so many chances and not converting them really missed Jota at the wrong time with injury.
Things might just get better 👍👍👍👍
Dalglish once said that no one person is bigger than Liverpool Football Club, and he was right. Klopp is a living legend, but the club must and will go on without him.
Said exactly the same thing when Shankley left...Bob Paisley took over and the club went from strength to strength ...look on the bright side of life
Anfield Agenda is the best in the world 🌍.Liverpool for ever and Craig is the greatest in the world 🌍.♥️👩🌾👩🌾👩🌾♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
I can hear certain rival fans stating he should have won more trophies etc. They‘ll never know what it means to be part of a culture of togetherness and meaning that transcends football.
Paul representing The Red TV 😊
Bill shankly was seen in a similar light to klopp and after him came Paisley who continued the success, if any team can move on it’s Liverpool! Up the reds
Certainly brought the hype..and for a while it seemed they were going to dominate...then their bubble burst.....Yes, he gave the club presence, but too many times it ended up being a let down, and in the last few years in conjunction with the quadruple debacles that were an affront, the moaning just took over, and still they were hyped, but did not deliver...Wish him well as a person, but LFC players need to do hold up their end on the field...they have failed him too many times. Imagine losing the league at Goodison, your arch enemy...they just did that....This club, these players have worn the man out.
Imagine what David Moyes had to deal with after Fergie lol
Can’t wait to see this lot go down hill in the next few years. Fantastic
Like ya mams minge LOL 😂
For the moment no one can replace him...Liverpool will be struggle some years
Anyone who will be manager nothing he can do what Kloop did for Liverpool
I really believe that with these owners next manager who ever he is LFC will be a 6 to 8 premier club not straight away players under contract but i believe the reason LFC have won things is 80% down to klopp i hope i am wrong
The in-coming manager is a very lucky person. He's inheriting Liverpool 2.0. I'd be very interested to have a peep at Klopp's handing-over notes to see what he says about each & every player in the squad. Right now Liverpool had a good mix of experience & youth, guys who've won everything, guys who've won nothing but are very hungry for trophies, etc, etc. Next season will be very exciting,..YNWA💪🏾‼️
i hope your right but really believe a lot of them players love the manager i know a lot of footballers now love nothing but money but klopp built something special
If the owners back the new manager it be fine
The same applies to me as a lifelong Liverpool supporter who supports men, women and academy teams for both genders. Lula, President of Brazil said “Supporting Corinthians is different from anything you might know supporting any other team. Because being a Corinthiano is not just about being a supporter. It is about being a militant, 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. It is like you are defending a cause. And it doesn’t matter if things are going badly, because the worse they get, the more we have faith.’”
Love Klopp..❤❤❤❤
The perfect replacement is already there. Pep lijnders. I'm amazed noone seems to mention him as next manager😢
We are falling apart with him at the moment
Best team in the world win loose or draw ❤️
No one is bigger than the club. We love klopp and give him respect but liverpool will go on and be successful.
I think the club could have offered him a sabbatical of sorts. Take 12 months off & disconnect. Put in an interim manager. When Kenny Dalglish left this is what the club should have offered Kenny but they went forward in a direction that took the club 30 years to win a league.
I am pretty sure they tried all options including a sabbatical.
@@ajeeli524 Klopp had just started a sabbatical when he become Liverpool manager.
The thing klopp achieved the title with limited resources and for the future the owners need to back the new manager to bring the success again klopp has been stubborn and some of the decisions he has made have hurt him aswell the new manager cant be stubborn he needs to be demanding
Liverpool fans should expect a few years in the doll drums after Klopp. Just look at Man U after Ferguson...
I don’t think it’ll go well now. I’m gutted.
At least he’s leaving behind a decent young squad for the next manager 👍
How is the the squad young, Salah, VVD are on their last legs.
@@ignatiusng1843are you dum6 or what? Name any other player whose on his last leg apart from Salah, VVD, Matip and Thiago? That's four out of a group of 30+ players
@@ignatiusng1843you seem to be horrible at maths, no wonder your name is ignatius. 😂 what a stupd name
You could still get a pretty penny for your so *called* last legs
There’s a lot of young players in this squad I don’t get how pointing out a couple of older players means there isn’t ? You need a few older experienced players in your team too so that’s a good thing 🤷🏻♂️ the point I was making though is that there is a lot of younger players in the squad including some coming through the academy which have shown a lot of potential not all of them will be future stars but definitely seen 2 or 3 this season
Jurgen has been very special, but I remember Shankly and Paisley leaving. Never is too long a word
I keep hearing jamie caraghers voice
Liverpool will carry on regardless to ever is in charge no one is bigger than the club
We was big before klopp and will remain big after klopp. We remember we have been here before with previous managers. I don’t need to say there names. Lfc will be good
Jürgen, who finished fifth last season, could only manage one premier league title in over nine years at Pool and that was while stadiums were empty. I'd therefore put Jürgen as just above average. He's nowhere near the great premier league managers.
Don't quite watch football, do you??? That was quite a naive statement you put out there in the digital world...
I presume that you’re just trolling as that is one the stupidest things I’ve read today. Klopp has won 7 trophies whilst at the club including the European Cup, the FA cup, The Premier League title, The Club World Cup, 2 Carabao Cups and the Charity Shield so far..(we could win more this season). And as for the "one title" bullshit, we came within 1 point of winning the Prem twice more in his reign. Also Liverpool already had 82 points in the league 19/20 and only needed 6 more from 9 games!..BEFORE.. lockdown so that’s also a lie. (Are you an Evertonian?) So..an average manager eh? Did you you decide this was the day to show the world that you know fuck all about football.
@@rajeshpavithran6368All indisputable facts though aren’t they.
before the stadiums got empty, how many point was liverpool having more than the second placed team...just give credit where due.... they were surely flying and frightening
HE TALKS ABOUT PEOPLE LIKE YOU.. NOT BOTHERED YOUR IRRELEVANT LMAO LIVERPOOL FANS ALL THAT MATTERS TO JURGEN
Klopp been carrying the club on both of his shoulders and it will be a rude awakening for the reds when they realise that FSG aint any better than the Glazers as soon as Klopp is gone. If Klopp wasn't as polite of a person he is, he would've ripped FSG apart for A dropping out of the Bellingham race and B not beeing able to supervise the reconstruction of the Anfield rd stand with the stand STILL not finished publicly. LFC will be out of the TOP4 post Klopp 100% and that for quite some time.
Irreplaceable, except for one man....
Woy 2.0 - Unfinished business.
I think it's important not to expect the next manager to be anything like Klopp but be his own man. There isn't another Klopp out there. I'm just greatful he's left us with a good platform of players. Gonna be missed big time.
Not offering Pep Ljinders was a big mistake!!! Knows the players, same phlilosophy as Klopp!!!!Ajax got a gem already!!!!!
Liverpool fans sleeping on the fact that Salah is on his way to Saudi in the summer. ✈️
The man is irreplaceable
Klopp took us liverpool to another Level not FSG he made us Great again of thr pitch and on it
Of course the in excess of £840m they gave to him for players, the infrastructures and stadium development is all down to Klopp not FSG 🤦🏼♂️
He should of won more with Liverpool
Was not the same after Paisley Moran things will move on
Hii ❤❤
It's a city that lives for football.
We havent thrived with klopp. 1 title in 9 years
Could be even better 😏
Of course it can flourish! It's LFC!! Will it? I can't see it. FSG have been on thin ice DURING Klopp. Ticket price increase, failure to get Alonso, and a new coach next year (in addition to, I my opinion, losing a few key players in the summer) are going to ramp up the pressure exponentially on FSG. Time to dig in LFC fans! Through the thick and the thin
Indeed...time to dig in and believe, AGAIN.... The process will continue; players will come and go... We can trust the management to take the right decisions; they have been doing it for a while now...
My find someone that can help you win more than 1 league
Soon he will come to liverpool with Real Madrid… so move on
Club legend, one league title in 8 years.😂
Have they thrived under him? One league title in 9 years - premier league legend apparently 😂
City supporters detected...😂😂
You muppet.. get a life
More like utd.. City stay quiet lately becouse of 115 number 😉
Yes , because he came across A team named Manchester City who are owned by a very rich country and Pep has played beautiful football and they are a machine under Pep........you can't always win against a machine 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
@@carlsteele1919 is that how we’re defining thriving now is it? I guess the big clubs just have higher expectations. Hashtag Premier League Legend 😂
Thanks Jurgen YNWA
Tonight was bad
🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼You’ll Never Win Again 👍🏼
Headcoach ffs
Doubters to believers ❤
❤️❤️
THE BIGGEST QUESTION NOW IS: WHO IS GOING TO REPLACE JURGEN KLOPP????????
I'm not a Liverpool fan but have to say the premier league will not be the same without him. I think there's every chance Liverpool will continue to perform at the highest level and win trophies. What will change though is it will be done without one of the most charismatic managers ever to grace the beautiful game.
Perhaps they will stop finishing runner up. He’s not even the best Liverpool manager ever.
Treble incoming- its written in the stars- they said Messi wont win world cup- but u can't stop destiny. Kop fans & LFC team are praying hard to win the treble.
Angel of Good luck karma is aiding LFC to win treble..
If things will never be the same …? Even less trophies then ?
Liverpool think there the only ones who feel the joy off football the honestly think its different for them 🤔 😂😂😂😂 delusional
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Their return was brief and overhyped. Back to where they belong after Klopp!
Warra liverpool era
people just love to forget we were 1 slip away from the title before klopp even got here. they want to put 100% of our success on him and its not true.
He got rid of 99% of Rodgers players and won 7 trophies. What did Rodgers win?
He underachieved for liverpool every time he needs to win in title race he cant should have at least 1 more title @nonnayoubuzinnes1669
@@nonnayoubuzinnes16697 trophies 🤣 He won one league and one CL. The rest are irrelevant.
you seem to forget we was below mid table when jurgen came in, we was literally chelsea right now
@@nonnayoubuzinnes1669what does that have to do with what i said? a new manager came in and brought in his own players, wow amazing, thats never been done before. its also kinda a funny thing to say cosidering firmino was a rodgers signing and became one of if not the most important player for klopp for years. People like you just have a difficult time admitting that liverpool is actually a good football club that knows what its doing. youll just have to learn the hard way
Hail to Jurgen Y N W A
THIS IS REBIRTH OF LIVERPOOL WHEN KLOPP CAME. REMEMBER SHAKLEY WHEN HE LEFT LIVERPOOL, LIVERPOOL FANS WERE FEELING SAME THEN BUT THEN CAME NEXT MANGER AND BROUGHT EVEN MORE SUCCESS, THIS WILL HAPPEN AGAIN WITH NEW MANAGER THAT TAKES OVER KLOPP AS MANGER, HE WILL EVEN BE BETTER THAN KLOPP ULL SEE.
You dont say lol
Liverpool didn't thrive, Manchester City did.... 5 titles in 6 years, 1 for Liverpool.
