The problem with the current Lakers is LeBron and AD. Are the talented players, absolutely. However, they dont make anyone around them better and they are not leaders. Jeannie Buss is a terrible owner. The Lakers are really dumb, they fire a coach that got them to the Western Conference Finals with no alternatives out there. 4: Both Lebron & AD privately & publicly undermined their last 2 coaches when things got tough.
5: Both Lebron & AD haven't had the best track record of health for the past few seasons.
6: Lebron, Pelinka & AD sacrificed the Lakers' draft capital to get Westbrook, who wasn't a fit.
7: Westbrook was scapegoated by the Lakers & their fans even though he was the most reliable on the team (health)
8: The Lakers (cough, Lebron) fired Darvin Ham without having realistic options lined up.
9: Lebron isn't commited to the Lakers past this summer & obviously has his son as leverage to stay or go.

The last Coach who won a Championship in College and won Championship in the NBA as Head Coach was Larry Brown. Won with University of Kansas (1988) and Detroit Pistons (2004).
It took Larry 16 years to finally win a championship in the NBA as a Coach.
